Kodell was so kind, patient with us as we organized our travels, and left detailed instructions for how to care for her cute kitties. We stayed just a few days but were greeted with cuddles and love by her two more extroverted cats, Max and Chester. The second two made a special appearance at the end of our time- so sweet, all of them. And her apt is close to cafes, restaurants, breweries - we had a fun time exploring. Thanks again Kodell for everything and all the best to you and your furry family :) ❤️
Karen, Quentin, and Felix are such a lovely family and we so enjoyed our time getting to know one another. Their beautiful Swiss Shepherd, Bo is such a sweet and lovable boy, who we bonded with almost immediately. Our days were spent hiking with Bo on many of the beautiful trails right out their door and to the nearby village of Leysin. Karen provided us with clear instructions on everything pertaining to Bo, their gorgeous home, as well as nearby amenities and services. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our travels to Europe and while we will miss all, we definitely hope to return one day. Just great people, stunning location, comfy home and our hiking buddy Bo combined to make for such a memorable stay!
It was an absolute pleasure to housesit for Pam and Gordon. While the initial dates did change from April 2020 to Dec 2020/Jan 2021, (due to Covid) this seemed to give them a greater excuse to welcome me to their delightful home in New Plymouth. On the evening of my arrival they invited a number of neighbours over for dinner, so right from the start I felt part of the local 'hood. Ranger, their handsome Russian Blue, was easy to care for. A plate or two or his favourite food, a snug bed to sleep on, and a 'bit of a chat' morning and evening was enough to keep him happy. Pam and Gordon's backyard and garden is special indeed. From bathing under the stars on a warm summer's evening, to sitting on the 'love swing' in the cool of the shade, it was idyllic simply to be there. Add to this the close proximity to the hub of downtown New Plymouth and it's many attractions, as well as supermarkets, cafes and restaurants this sit is one I shall always consider fortunate to have been chosen to do. Pam and Gordon are kind, generous and warm people and this sit would rate among one of the best among the many housesits I have done over the past number of years.
We had a great time housesitting for Audrey and her funny cat Loop. We never met a cat before that could actually play fetch! We had a call some weeks before the sit started and because they had to leave early and we had to travel a little bit, she introduced us to one of her friends who lived around the corner. He welcomed us and showed us around. The first days Loop couldn’t get enough of playing fetch with the hairpins. After a day of two he also started to relax on the chair in front of us and in the end he even wanted to cuddle! The house was clean and tidy in a beautiful area. Close to the beach and close to the city. It’s in the middle of a shopping street with, among other things, a groceries store and a pharmacy just some meters away. But even though it’s a busy street there really isn’t much noise. We can really recommend housesitting for Audrey and we would definitely do it again.
I absolutely loved my stay at Chris’s home with Rosie and Henry. The home is comfortable and in a great location. I enjoyed walking into Durham for groceries or coffee and utilizing the trails behind the house. Henry was my buddy from day one and loved attention, snuggles, snacks, and bringing shoes to me as a gift. Rosie mostly kept to herself but warmed up to me and would occasionally sleep in the bed with me if not in one of her many window chairs. Chris was a great host and communicator as well!
I had the best time with Wallace and Otis! They both are sweet, affectionate, and easy to care for. The apartment is cozy and has everything that you might need. Overall, this was one of the best house sits I have done. The fur babies are so cute and lovable that I did not want to leave. I would definitely love to stay with them again.
