Amy was very friendly and personable! The house-sitting experience was not our best due to a lack of communication and an unfortunate situation with Amy getting locking herself out of the house at night, which wasn't able to be resolved immediately. Regarding communication: We didn't hear from Amy during the sit, so we sent a message on the 5th day to check in on the cats and she responded with an update and a picture, which was nice to hear and see. I think we would've liked more updates during the 9 day sit because we have two senior cats (one that we have to keep an eye on for health reasons, who was having trouble eating and finishing her food) so we were a bit worried while we were away, but maybe we weren't clear with Amy about our expectations. The next message we got was on the 9th day of the sit and it was informing us that Amy had locked herself out of the house that night and left the keys inside. We tried to call her multiple times immediately after receiving the message, but she didn't pick up. We wanted her to check for the spare key, but we couldn't reach her. We were quite worried by this point as our senior kitties would be home alone overnight, though Amy let us know they had dinner, so at least they wouldn't be hungry. It was late night, but she called back about an hour later, apologised for missing our calls, and said she was already at a friend's house so she couldn't go back to the house and check until morning time. In the morning, she went back to the house and couldn't get to the spare key, so we had to pay for a locksmith to come over and pick the lock for her to get back into the house and to check on the cats. That wasn't a great experience for us as we were quite worried about the cats, but Amy was nice enough to stay until dinner time since my husband's flight home was delayed, so that was helpful.

Lisa
My husband and I enjoyed spending almost a month with LIsa’s and Maggie’s dogs. Originally, the sit was for LIsa’s dog Ori and her daughter Maggie’s two dogs Molly and Gemma, who came during the school day while she was teaching. About two weeks before the sit started, we found out Lisa had taken on another dog for an extended stay. Kuri, sister litter mate of Gemma, was a sweet dog who was certainly easygoing and appreciated the extra attention she got from two people. Ori, who is 14, has dementia and was often a very early riser. Letting her outside for a few minutes seemed to distract her and she would go back to bed. The every energetic young Molly, made a great jogging companion for me and enjoyed an extra walk in the afternoon. Kuri, Gemma, and Molly loved snuggling with us and sharing the love.

Maggie dropped off her two dogs every school morning sometime between 6-6:30 and retrieved them generally between 4:30 and 6 PM. Friday and Saturday mornings and the week she was off during the balloon fiesta, she would pick them up early for a romp at the golf course where they could be off-leash. We really appreciated when she took all four them overnight twice so that we could attend the balloon fiesta for several hours. Her former experience as a vet tech came in handy when we had some questions about the dogs.

The four dogs have an involved feeding regimen which Lisa wrote out clearly and was quite easy. She left many notes so we had few questions and was great about telling us of her fantastic neighborhood friends who included us in Taco Tuesdays and an evening get together. The chickens provided more than enough fresh eggs for us. They enjoyed a supervised outing in the backyard while the dogs enjoyed time on the front porch. The house is spacious and comfortable and the backyard is a great place to relax. The cleaning women came the day we left and did a fantastic job getting the house ready for Lisa’s return late that night.

Beautiful week with the lovely Blu! In such a funky house & area with cool bars, lots of walks and supermarkets all close by. Sarah was a great host and we wouldn't hesitate to go back!!!

Sweetie Evie! What a dream cat sit this was. Allison was very thorough getting me set up for the sit and so accommodating for my stay. Her place is fantastic - great location, cozy vibe, big kitchen, and dream cat. Evie immediately warms up to you and is perfectly cuddly. When she isn’t purring or asking for pets, she’s sleeping. I was honestly impressed by how long she would sleep (and how cute her snores were)! I would absolutely sit for Evie again and hope to someday :)
