Vivian and Mike are fantastic and wonderful people. We enjoyed our stay in Washington DC and loved the company of both Clementine and Gemini. I wish both Viv and Mine the best in their futures.
Jamie and Stephen are very warm and gracious pet parents who definitely made me feel welcome. Their home is very comfortable. Oliver is an older dog who took a day or two to warm up to me but after that he was perfectly happy. He is a bit excitable and barks for about 5 minutes upon entering the home and before feeding time. He also has a drooling issue that requires bathing him every few days. He loves walks! I have to disagree with Jamie that I left the house untidy. Everyone has different expectations about cleaning and I think that is a lesson I have taken away from this experience. In addition I requested a review and did not receive one for 2 weeks, only after I texted twice to remind them. However I provided my feedback to them personally and I believe this was a learning experience for both of us. They would be excellent pet parent hosts for the right person!
Judy and Ian were so friendly from the first meet-up via videochat also they left some food as I arrive late. The cats are absolutely cute. Poppy is the most expressive and talkative cat that I saw until now. Peanut is more reserved but when she feels comfortable she loves some rub on her chin while she is sleeping. The apart is absolutely well located, with bus stop, train and metro. Also with a supermarket close by. There's plant of space and the balcony is amazing. The points is: They forget to mentioning that's no elevator for the 5th floor and they don't have a properly Welcome Guide to help the sitters. They forget to give me an emergency number and a vet number. The instructions are in an old paper that I really recommend that they pass the information for the Welcome Guide in the site. Also and most important they completely and absolutely forgot to tell me that was a looooong weekend so I started to look for accomodations and I didn't find anything available so I didn't understand why until a Facebook colleague informed 08 days before I arrive that it would be a long weekend and everything in the city was already booked. What was left were extremely expensive places that I couldn't afford. I asked help with colleagues, Facebook group, Couchsurfing people, but all are fully. The city also as very crowded. If they had informed me of this on the day of the interview I would certainly have arranged it earlier. Very close to my arrival my cat had a stroke and that left me very shaken but I still didn't cancel the pet sitting and I said in the last video call that I had given my word and made a commitment and I wouldn't let them down. But for sure the situation with my own cat left me completely off balance. I arrived 01 hour later than requested as they informed me if I could arrive after 6pm and I had warned in advance about my work call (All this is in a WhatsApp conversation). So I literally just sleep on the sofa as they left at dawn for the airport which was no problem for me. My ultimate goal is always the well-being and care of pets and I always do that. I will miss the ladies and their such funny things.
We enjoyed our stay at Alana’s beautiful home with her fun pets. Great neighborhood to walk everywhere, to the beach, to the main Street with groceries - coffee - cinema, to many parks. Layla the cat is a cuddler, Luna the lab is full of energy. We appreciated the great view of downtown Seattle and the many small luxuries of the house.
I had such a nourishing stay at Tess & Boomer's home. Tess is warm and kind, and her home is clean and neat. She made me feel like it was my home, too, invited me to snack on anything I saw available, and elaborated on her care for her special cat. On another positive note, Boomer was an easy pet to care for. He’s not a lap cat but lets you pet him, and he’s very adorable! Thank you for trusting me to be in your sweet, scared home, Tess.
Carolin is super friendly and welcoming, her house is beautiful and comfortable. Dean is a cute cat, he is affectionate, sociable and loves to be given love and attention.
