Geni was an amazing sitter! Extremely self-reliant. She embraced everything unique about the island and thrived. She took great care of the cats and sent pictures weekly, as I requested. She even cleaned and assessed the car and bicycle and would have done repairs if I had sent parts. I hope I can get her to come back in the future.
Xan accepted this long sit at very short notice after another sitter cancelled owing to ill health. Xan clearly had lots of experience, so I did not hesitate to invite her to take care of my dog Rosie. Rosie is 17 years old so obviously requires different care as compared to a much younger dog, but this did not phase Xan. The care Rosie received was excellent. I was able to enjoy my holiday with complete peace of mind. Upon my return I found my apartment in a clean and tidy condition. I would not hesitate to recommend Xan to other pet owners.
It was easy to communicate with friendly Kathy. We also had similarities and many common interests to talk about. She picked me up from the nearby train station and also gave me a ride when the sit finished. On my first day the family made us a lovely dinner. My job was to water the house plants, the garden plants and the greenhouse plants. This was enjoyable as I am dreaming of having my own garden. I also got to eat some garden produce. It was great to have a big house and a big garden especially during the hot summer days. I took care of the family pet, a budgie called Sky. He was a sweet bird. I followed his daily care routine. I spent most of the time at home working remotely so taking care of my responsibilities was easy. I was encouraged to take my sewing machine with me. I loved sewing in Kathy's big kitchen on the sturdy table. This was one of my favourite sits and I can recommend it to others too.
