Donna's house was new w/all the mod con's. Baloo was such a sweetheart, it was a treat caring for him! From the get-go, I could tell Donna was a seasoned traveler: it was the most stress-free sit I've ever confirmed. It is evident she is accustomed to delegating, w/out qualms. We were just a couple of blocks from the shoreline, for beautiful walks. BC has such great infrastructure, there are little parks everywhere for walking Baloo. The use of a bicycle gave me a lot of freedom - it's basically a flat community, so I was able to travel all over Sidney, and even take the ferry to nearby Salt Spring Island for a day trip. If you love Vancouver Island, this is definitely a spot to spend some time - friendly folks, beautiful vistas, ahhh! My heart already aches missing Baloo, he's so cool!
Margaret and Glynn are such wonderful hosts who made us feel very welcome and instantly at home when we arrived. They had thought of everything, from a lovely comfortable guest bedroom with lots of storage , freezer and kitchen cupboard space, as well as a very comprehensive welcome guide folder. Jack, the Labrador, was simply the easiest, friendliest, laid back companion we could have wished for. The cats Berry and Daisy were reserved and nervous at first but they soon relaxed and became more confident which resulted in them coming to us regularly for attention and were happy to spend the evenings sitting with us. Oscar is very nervous of new people, so unfortunately we only saw him on our first day with Margaret but the food we left in the outbuildings always disappeared. A lovely sit in a beautiful part of the country, many thanks for this opportunity.
Summer and Sky were so playful and friendly! I had a great time caring for them and enjoying the beach close by.
I am unsure if I could have enjoyed my stay more than to settle down in a well located and appointed apartment. Perry was mellow, easy and fun to look after. And have a place near Munich to explore is just what the doctor ordered. Everything went according to plan as a result of Maddy ensuring instructions were ready and communication smooth. Perfect.
