I would really recommend staying in Poullaouen for Diane to anybody who enjoys the country life. Depending on what projects she has going on, you will most likely rise with the sun and follow the rules written by nature, as we did. The chickens rule the roost and are like clockwork. Their personalities are revealed only over time, but Sooty and Miss Kitty Grey (or Snoots and Gravy as we called them) will let their intentions be known immediately: feed me, pet me! Such a sweet sweet experience we had in Brittany because of the animals and the house and especially Diane. You will find a trove of things to do w/in an hour drive - the coast, ancient standing stones, oysters, crepes, cider and loads of history. You won't regret a visit here, and it may even change you forever, as it did us. We would not hesitate to return.
Randy and Becki were very hospitable and treated us to a great dinner the night that we got in. They were delighted that we would be spending some of our free time skiing while sitting for them. The hot tub was perfect after a day out in the cold! Both cats were great and pretty much did their own thing. No complaints during the "behind" cleaning which was a breeze! We hope to sit again for them soon!
Carolyn and Simon embodies genuine british hospitality with passionate love for serving and community spirit. I enjoyed tremendously spending time at their home with them inviting me to experience a slice of their life - coordinating an arts festival, volunteering at a museum, attending choir practice as well as helping out the less fortunate. My heartfelt thanks. The cats- Leo and Mia are definitely a study in contrast. Leo the gentle giant loves his naps and grooming sessions while petite Siamese Mia loves to string along and will make known her wants with her loud gruff meows. They were so easy to care for and fall in love with. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be in Stevenage and am going back with a deeper understanding of british life. THS is not just about places to travel while pet sitting, it is also about meeting amazing people living amazing lives yet so down to earth. A TRULY RECOMMENDED SIT.
We really enjoyed staying here. The house has everything you need and is in a great central location, easy to access all Poole has to offer. Once we had parked the car in the allotted space, we only moved it once to visit RSPB Arne, we walked everywhere else. We particularly enjoyed the “mystery tour” given to us by Cat and Reesy which was good to learn about the history of Poole. The animals were all very easy to look after. Geri took her medication very well and both cats came for cuddles particularly in the evening when we got the woodburner going in the cozy living room. Fudge the hedgehog was also easy to care for. She didn’t come out that often. We knew she was nocturnal but we hardly saw her even in the evenings! Cat had mentioned that she was noisy on the wheel but we honestly didn’t notice. Communication was great throughout. A super house sit!
