Angela is lovely! She not only took care of our pup as if she were her own, taking her on hikes and play dates at the park, but she also left our home immaculate. She did the laundry, made the bed and emptied the dishwasher before she left. An added surprise of flowers and wine upon my return, Angela really went above and beyond and we would welcome her back any time.
We had the pleasure of meeting Tom and Karen before we left on our trip. I had a lot of instructions to cover with the cats and chickens, but they didn't flinch and were absolutely the best sitters! Tom always responded right way to my messages, so we knew all was well back at home. We hope to have them sit for us again in the future!
Rebecca is excellent at communicating and organised for her mum Hilary to meet us since we were delayed arriving for the sit until after they had left. The house was immaculately clean and spacious. Information on caring for the chickens was clear and everything went very smoothly. (The dog went on holiday with them) I would highly recommend this sit - it’s easy, Rebecca is very helpful and the chickens are interesting and provide eggs!
I had a great time at Heathers place on Skopelos Island minding her smart little dog Molly who is such a character with a loving nature and slightly mischievous. This added a bit of an edge to the experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. There was good communication with Heather which allowed a clear understanding of her expectations. It was a pleasure and privilege to come and care for Willow, Ouzel, Tigger and your beautiful home and property. Lucinda and Tim welcomed us warmly, took the time to ensure we were familiar with the local area and provided contact details for people and services should we need any assistance during the stay. We appreciated Lucindas clear communication and great organisation leading up to and thoughout the sit - it ensured everything went very smoothly. Willow the spaniel and Ouzel the wire hair visla are so affectionate and a real joy to go out and about with and to enjoy time with at home - we are going to miss their company. Tigger the cat is also very affectionate and enjoys lots of pats, lap time and also chills out in the back yard hammock! The home, garden, the surrounding village and country side are all very beautiful and we loved exploring the Downs, the New Forest and lots of local walks with the dogs. We could not have asked for more and absolutely loved our time with Willow, Ouzel and Tigger. Thank you Lucinda and Tim for your generous hospitality in your beautiful part of the world - we hope to come and care for your animals and home again in future and highly recommend you to other future house sitters. Wendy's place was a wonderful and calm break from a busy summer! We were lucky to arrive to meet with her the night before they were leaving the next morning. We not only shared a tasty dinner but also got the complete tour and expert guidance which was helpful because we never cared for chickens and turkeys before! The location of the house was perfect to get to nearby lakes, shops and activities and all logistical coordination with Wendy was super easy and quick. Life lessons learned from her animal crew: Chickens do take themselves to bed at sundown and they are really excited to greet the day. Bringing some of that energy and dedication to sleeping to our life would be helpful :) The two lady turkeys are really calm, they follow you when you walk around in their pen or outside and they talk with you when you sing to them. They do not really want to go to bed at night but rather hang out more with you. They would be awesome +1s for any social occasion :) The ducks are the funniest, do a lot of quacking and love paddling in their wee pool. Carpe diem is the lesson here for sure! Blossom and Kaida are the cuddliest cats and took turns sleeping in the bed. Everybody needs cats in their life; fact. Buddy and Sierra are super well behaved, love people and have their very distinct personalities. Be yourself, be proud and people will love you for it!
For just over a week I have the upmost pleasure staying at Laurel's home, looking after Sprout. Sprout is one of the sweetest, lovable, well mannered little dogs one will come across. She loves to be loved and you'll love loving her! Quite easy going and easy to care for. Certainly "low maintenance" would be an appropriate description but her character and overall cuteness makes her a treat of a companion. Laurel's home is conveniently located in S. Portland. There's a great yard/deck area which is well enclosed (Sprout is a bit of an "escape artist"). Sprout is a blast to play with outside. Not in the "shopping district" per-say but walking distance to a supermarket as well as a few little markets/cafe, restaurants, etc. Willard's beach is maybe a 5 min drive and is a great place to bring Sprout and enjoy the other dogs abound. Depending on time of the day, the bridge to downtown Portland also just a few minutes drive. Since the bedroom/bathroom is downstairs (both quite nice), there is no need to use the second floor. Making things very easy to maintain while still having plenty of space. Laurel greeted me warmly and took care to ensure ease and comfort. Excellent communication. Sprout is truly such a lovely dog, I can't recommend her enough! Many thanks Laurel!
House sitting for Seb and Raluca was such a pleasure! Luna is one of the coolest cats we’ve ever met, she will provide you with constant entertainment and lots of cuddles!
