The house sit was seamless for us. Beginning with their application communication with Tocarra was professional throughout the entire process. It was our first experience with zeewoi and she walked us through it! The house and pets were all in great condition when we returned. I would definitely hope to have the family again.
Trudy & her husband were awesome! They took great care of our dog & cat & our home as well. They even left clean sheets on our bed which was not requested or required but greatly appreciated. We highly recommend Trudy for home & pet sitting!
Our cat survived and appears un-traumatized (hence the two stars)...but other than that I would not recommend Marie. It was unfortunate for her (and me!) that I had to return early from a summer trip all the way from India because of a severely broken foot. When it happened I wanted to return to NYC immediately (for surgery and re-hab) but delayed my return by two weeks to give Marie time to adapt to the new situation (this is also the notice requirement of zeewoi who immediately talked to me about how to take care of this situation, although, Marie was not initially open to working with me based on their recommendations). It must be said that her response could scarcely have been less gracious—focusing on the stress I was causing her.rather than working with me to remedy the situation. And a demand for me to find her (and pay for) an Air BnB for the remaining term of her stay. Also, her communications were not consistent right from the beginning and I had to keep texting and asking for our cat's photos (which she has previously agreed to sending every day - our previous house sitter was wonderfully communicative and responded immediately to our texts when we were away). This lack of communication caused all of us unnecessary stress during a holiday. We arrived back to find our apartment not very tidy, with a note saying that Anima (the cat) had been pooping outside her litter box for the entire duration. Two excrement-stained (i.e. unwashed) bath-mats were in a bin liner in the middle of the living room upon our arrival. Our cat had adjusted very well to going to her litter box before we had left and had no issues at all . So when this behavior happened, why hadn't she told us this immediately? As cat-owners know, it's a sign of stress. It also suggests that Anima's litter was not changed frequently enough (which we noticed upon our return) and / or that she'd been skipping the morning medication that the vet had prescribed. But why had Marie not communicated this to me when I was away? I find this very frustrating as we could have addressed the issue together. Other strange behaviors followed....like a refusal to hand back her entry card into our building ("because it contains my picture") which is an inconvenience (I now have to inform security in person). Many of these things were agreed upon beforehand and then not attended to after. No one died, our cat is OK....but not a great experience with Marie.
