Heather was a great host, our sit was set up on short notice as it turned into a mini vacation trip for both families. The home and location was beautiful and the we enjoyed taking care of their fur family while also getting to explore what Minocqua and northern Wisconsin had to offer. We would definitely recommend them as hosts and hope to be back to visit at some point 👍🏻👏🏻
We very much enjoyed our time caring for Lex and Carolyn's beautiful house which is set in a particularly lovely part of Northumberland, situated as it is in the midst of a working farm, with lots of springtime lambs and ewes round about the realm, as well as grassy hills, well-treed fields, winding streams, etc. And Lex and Carolyn's two cocker spaniels, Pedro and Raffy, are thoroughly endearing, as are the nine hens which we likewise looked after, and which happily provided a plethora of multicoloured eggs throughout our stay at Errington House. Lex and Carolyn were also particularly welcoming and generous hosts, and prepared for us wonderfully tasty and nutritious meals throughout our two-day crossover at the start of the housesit. And Lex treated us to a drive out to a nearby reservoir with lovely walking paths, etc., and likewise took the time to show us around the various fields of the farm, as an introduction to the many walking possibilities that surround the house, which also has a beautifully laid out garden that would be wonderful to spend time in during the warmer, sunnier months. In short, if you have the opportunity to house and pet sit for Lex and Carolyn, we highly recommend that you do so. We would likewise welcome the opportunity to return should our dates fit well with their future travels.
Great house with two fantastic dogs in beautiful Devon countryside.
Sara and Dogie were incredibly welcoming and accommodating before and during our sit. They have a beautiful home, with first class facilities, and they even left us their bikes which was really handy for quick trips into town. The dogs were lovely and so well natured. For anyone concerned with minding larger dogs - Bob (German Shepard) is one of the most lovely, gentle dogs you could ever meet. We had a great time at Sara and Dougie’s and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it to anyone.
Virginia, thank you for choosing me to take care of your beautiful home and Petra and Lulu! It was the holiday I needed with the best companions I would ask for. It was so wonderful to take care of and spend time with Petra and Lulu exploring Chilham and the surrounding areas. Petra is the perfect companion and I had great time with the on forest, beach, fields and city walks. She loves the attention, but also appreciates her own space (strange for a Labrador, but it’s lovely to see). So well behaved and so loving. Lulu, although very independent, loves cuddles and it was so lovely to see her change as we got to know each other better. Overall, It was a wonderful sit and I would come to housesit for Virginia in a heartbeat (when the dates work). Very welcoming home with fabulous fluffs.
I had the recent pleasure of looking after Barney while Walter and Paul were away. Barney is quite the character and he wasted no time in letting me know what he wanted and what he did not want, depending upon his mood. He ate up his beloved vanilla ice cream one day, but the next day, not so much. He is affectionate and engaging and readily sought out physical contact. He was happiest when he was sitting on my shoulder, or on my arms, or resting on my chest and legs. When he sat on my forearm, he would tuck his head into my shirt to let me know he wanted a neck massage. When I was wearing a buttoned shirt, he would playfully unbutton all the buttons and act quite proud of himself that he did so. Walter and Paul's home and garden are welcoming and comfortable. The deck is a lush garden of potted plants that I watered daily, while enjoying a view of Mt. Hood in the not-too-far distance. Walter and Paul provided me with detailed and clear instructions as to Barney’s care and the various household details, so I was fully confident in handling all matters relating to my pet and house-sitting experience. They are kind and thoughtful gentlemen and are very proud parents of 35-year old Barney.
