Darlene and Dan have a kind and caring aura that is instantly recognisable. We loved hearing about their adventures and stories, and Olle's immediate warm reception to them, signified by his affectionate lick, was a testament to their loving nature. Throughout our trip, they kept us connected to Olle through regular updates, pictures and videos that brought smiles to our faces and eased our minds, and he looked so happy. What truly set Darlene and Dan apart was not just their exceptional care for Olle, but also their respect and consideration for our home. We returned to an impeccably clean home. Olle is shedding at the moment, and there was not a hair insight. When we walked through the door, it was clear Olle had the time of his life, evident from his happy, smiley, fluffy demeanour. Adding to the warmth of our homecoming, Darlene had prepared a delightful meal, a thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture that speaks volumes about their considerate and generous spirit. Darlene and Dan are not just pet sitters; they are a dynamic duo who provide peace of mind, exceptional care for pets, meticulous attention to home maintenance, and a touch of home comfort to both pets and owners alike. As people who take in harder to re-home cats, finding house-sitters can be a challenge. This was particularly true where our nervous ex-feral Grimalkin was concerned, as he hadn’t been exposed to anyone besides us for the duration of the pandemic. While I had typically went with house-sitting agencies before, I thought I would widen my search to zeewoi (and others like it), because they allowed me to choose a person, rather than being assigned one (and I felt that in the past some of the assigned weren’t all that cat friendly). Louise stood out because her glowing reviews included a household with a nervous pet. Even before meeting Louise I was impressed by her excellent communication skills and general manner. While leaving one’s home and loved ones with a stranger is always difficult, any lingering worries that I had were extinguished within a few minutes of meeting Louise; my concerns instead would shift to anxiety regarding whether it was fair to leave her with a cat that was having a hissy fit because he couldn’t go outside the morning we left. I have once in past had to turn back after a plane landed to return to a “cat-astrophe” and I made my peace with the fact that I might have to again. And then - a couple days in and after several updates - we received a picture of Louise brushing Grimalkin (?!?) Considering that he had hid from us for 2 weeks upon arriving, we concluded that Louise is a cat whisperer. (Or, as my husband alternatively framed it, “what? he already likes her better than me”!). To be able to relax with my family knowing that my furry pal was in the most capable hands is a luxury that I haven’t had for quite some time - and it was all the more precious since our parents are elderly. We both feel so lucky to have met someone with such an extraordinary knack for cats (and people too!). Since we both believe that Louise sitting for us is as good as it gets, we will try our utmost to plan any breaks in advance in the hope that we can work around her schedule. Our wholehearted thanks to you, Louise, for your rare sensitivity, intelligence, patience, and kindness with our cowardly lion!
Nic and her family came to stay with our two siberian husky's while we were hosting a motorcycle rally. The house was better than we left it, she sent us photos of our dogs throughout the week and when we got home after 5 days, our huskies actually were sulking looking for them! That says a lot as they obviously loved having them look after them. we would love to have them back any time and if they ever want to come for a visit anytime we would gladly open our home and hearts to them. thanks Nicole and Peter!
It was a pleasure to look after Lola and Brontë. They were very sweet and friendly dogs. The hosts were lovely and I was made to feel very welcome and catered for. I stayed in a lovely home in a lovely part of the world and really enjoyed my stay.
