What a joy it was to look after Baxter in Ben and Vicky's lovely house. He was very well behaved and no bother at all. On a walk his recall was excellent and he loved swimming in the sea. This is a fabulous part of the world with lots to do and great coast walks on your doorstep. The house was very comfortable and in ideal position looking out to Falmouth on the edge of the village. Ben and Vicky were very welcoming and generous and we would have no hesitation in recommending this sit to anyone and would definitely return if chosen and available.
Patricia and her husband are wonderful people. Before the sit commenced, we had supper together to get better acquainted. They are both very accommodating. They have a beautiful, comfortable space. It felt like a vacation in a home away from home. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and the amenities within their home are endless and exceptional. I'm glad they trusted me to look after their home and Roxy. Roxy is a very sweet girl. A bit nervous and quirky but very loving and obedient. We bonded very quickly and I enjoyed her company for the duration of my stay. She's a Velcro dog most times so she would follow me up and down the stairs. Even if I walked it five times, her little legs would be moving at hyper-speed to keep up. But at times she likes to find her own space, looking out the window, on the couch or spending time outdoors. She has the cutest little stretches with her back paws when she gets up and a very happy smile. This was a memorable experience for sure!
It was our first trustedhousesitters experience, and it was totally amazing. HOSTS. Fiona and Dave were great from the very first contact, and we still keep in touch 💌 after almost half a year since our visit. They gave us detailed instructions 🖨 about the house and pets and were ready to answer all our questions any time during our stay. We admire Fiona and Dave’s lifestyle, their working and social projects, their strength to overcome difficulties and their caring hearts. Dinners with them before/after our stay were filled with interesting stories and they even cooked delicious fish for us, we were really touched. ❤️ DOGS. Their 5 dogs are also great personalities and we deeply fell in love with them. •🐕🦺Rocky is the soul of the team. He is the youngest and a really bright spirit. He doesn’t have eyes, but can see with his heart (and with the help of very good developed senses). He is very brave and likes to hunt in the woods like all other dogs. A few times we had to climb to get him from the rocks, but we didn’t have any dangerous situations with him. •🦮Patrick is the manager and the voice. He amazingly feels time and always reminds you when is feeding or walking time. It’s not easy to stop his strong voice, especially because he is deaf and can’t hear you. But we somehow found a way to negotiate with him. I spoke in Ukrainian with him, and he listened to me, but not to my husband 🤣 •🐕🐕Two sisters Hang and Shorty are hunting dogs, so we may have unleashed only one of them at a time, so that they don’t run away together. Even if they seem very calm and tired - don’t trust their look. We once made a mistake and unleashed them together - they immediately became fresh and full of energy and run away. We expected to wait for them for a few hours, like Dave instructed us. But they came back before we returned to the van 🥳 •🐾Monty is a nice perfectionist. She needs to be the first and to get her “good girl”. She might look tired and old (she even gets her everyday treatments), but when we turn to go back to the van after walk - she is always the first, even Patrick can’t win her. So our duties with the dogs were to drive all 5 dogs in a special van to a secluded area where we could unleash them and walk with them for around an hour. We followed 4 different walking paths on different days (and then we even created path #5). It was our favourite part of the day. These were not we walking the dogs, but the opposite - the dogs were walking us in their beautiful scenery with cliffs and the sea. We also fed them twice a day, played with them during the day and then went for one more walk in the evening (shorter one around the house on the leash) - I usually went with 2 dogs and my husband with the other 3. In the evening we had to bring all dogs to the garden (to give them last chance to pee), gave them treats and then brought them to their sleeping places, having given each of them a dentastick (tasty treat that also works as teeth brushing). We were also filling their bowls with water once in few days. We also had to go shopping for more dogs food when it was about to finish. And we had a situation when some of the dogs bit Patrick and he was bleeding a bit, so we brought him to the vet who gave him an injection, and it finished well)) Oh, we miss the dogs so much now! Time to time we remember some stories with them and laugh or dream about meeting them again! CAT. TicTac is a poor cat. She has only 3 legs and is scared of people (some tragedy in her background before Fiona and Dave saved her). We scooped her toilet every day, boiled fish 🐟 for her every other day and gave her special goat milk 🥛. She lived in our room and came to our bed (it was possible to just close the door and do not let her in). But in the beginning she didn’t even show her face when we entered the room, we could see only her tale in the first week or two. Then she became more relaxed with us and stopped hiding. At this moment after giving her fresh fish, I stayed in the room and was just talking to her. She was crying me out all her life 😿, and I only kept asking her questions with empathy. It worked - she was coming closer and closer each day during such “talks” and then asked me to touch her, and the next day she asked to cuddle her and couldn’t stop anymore 🤗. She started coming to our bed and was pretty demanding when it was about cuddling))) It’s a pity our bed is so far from her now)) HOUSE and GARDEN. 🏡 The house is tremendous. It’s big and well decorated, we totally loved it. When we arrived, all bushes in the garden were cowered with flowers, it was like a paradise. 🌺 The house has solar panels and batteries, so even if there was power outage - we still had electricity, it’s very comfortable. 🔋 We had to water the plants every day, and order truck with water 🚛 for the house once in few weeks. We also cleaned the house by ourselves, although we weren’t asked to. We just love to live in a clean space. We were amazed by how cool Fiona and Dave keep the house clean that even with 5 dogs there was no dogs smell inside the house! 🧼🧹🛀 And we also got an adventure with rats 🐀 - they made their house behind the fridge, so Rocky was trying to reach them and was crazy barking day and night, so my husband got creative by catching the rats. One day he even caught a toad 🐸 by mistake 🤣 But in the end he was lucky to catch a rat. We learned from Fiona and Dave about their “no-kill policy” and had to bring this rat to the woods and let him go. We had adventures almost every day)) And it was also a great chance for us to get an experience of living in a private house. STRESS. The most stressful for me was the heat. 🥵 It’s really hot in Montenegro. It took me some time to get used to it. Another stressful moment was shopping. There was only a very small shop in the neighbourhood (it’s on the beach), a nearest supermarket 🛒 was 20 minutes driving, and since I don’t drive, I was dependant on my husband’s schedule when he could drive 🚙 us to the supermarket. So in the end we learned to buy food for 2-3 weeks 🛍 and it was not a problem anymore)) LOCATION. I’t just 5 minutes ⏳ walking downhill to the sea and nearest beach Zanjice, but trip back is about 15 minutes up a very steep hill (it’s really steep, but my husband managed even to go running up and down). Zanjice beach is one of the most beautiful in the country. It was almost empty in June and the sunbeds were for free before beginning of the season (1st July). When the season started I liked to go to Ribarske Selo - it’s a restaurant to the left from the beach and they have a terrace with sunbeds. You get a free sunbed if you reserve a table in the restaurant 🍽 (even if you take just juice 🥤or soup…). We also liked to go to Arza beach near the fortress and spent there our weekends. It’s a wild beach on the rocks, and we often were just alone there. We also took a car to Rose beach - very beautiful location on the peninsula. And there is lots to see on the peninsula - old churches, abandoned village, festivals.. We once watched a movie by a Montenegrin movie director in an open-air amphitheater in Lustica Bay. You better check the events 🎭 in Lustica Bay beforehand and don’t miss any of them!)) We spent almost 1,5 months at Fiona and Dave’s house. The first 2 weeks another couple of our friends was with us, and the rest of the time we were alone with my husband, and it was really a lot of things to do with pets and around the house, but we took them as an opportunity to live new experience, and we feel lucky to have now such amazing memories. We would definitely recommend Fiona and Dave with their amazing pets for trustedhousitters! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We spent eight days at Karen’s and Darren’s house with Sasha and Hans-Otto. The house is located in Forchheim. It‘s a beautiful medieval town, with many breweries, restaurants, a „castle“ and a train station going to Bamberg, Nürnberg, Erlangen and many other cities. The house itself is on a small river and you can see the ducks and the water from your bed. Lovely view! Sasha and Hans-Otto were both soo cute! Hans Otto was really independent and needed some time alone on the balcony or in another room, but always checked on you. And if he felt like that he jumped on the bed and spent the evening with you, laying next to your feet. Sasha was a more cuddly cat. Especially in the night on the sofa she loved to snuggle on your blanket and get belly rubs. The other time she slept on her throne and loves to play! All in all we absolutely recommend this lovely housesit. We had a beautiful time and would love to come back at some point!

We have boarded dogs at this kennel for years. We have boarded a very old dog. That old dog was given excellent, kind, gentle care. We have also boarded a puppy who was also given exactly the care he needed. He is grown now and is always happy to go there. He goes in with tail wagging. He goes to both Barb and Lloyd for pets. He is a happy dog when I pick him up. I would recommend this kennel to anyone needing a dog to be cared for in a home. The owners are knowledgeable and caring.
We left our dog here for a 10 day trip. When she couldn't eat her food due to a tumor in her mouth, Barb hand cooked fish that she was more than willing to eat. We were even given some of the fish to take home when we picked her up since she was so willing to eat it over regular food. We are very grateful for the care and dedication by Barb to accommodate our dog and would recommend this dog kennel to anyone else looking for one.
I used Just like home dog boarding three times, but will never return. After the first time I didn’t feel totally comfortable and didn’t plan to return, but found that after the stay my dog seemed more social with other dogs, so I decided to go back. The second visit went fine and she seemed to have enjoyed it. Sadly the third visit was a terrible experience. When I picked my dog up after a long weekend, she was walking on three legs. The dog boarding owners said she likes to jump a lot and she just hurt her paw a little but it’s fine, and said she’s just been looking for sympathy and lying around all day. They didn’t give details of what had happened or when. They keep the dogs in the house and showed me where they had her sleeping, which was on a high ledge with quite a precarious jump onto a box to get down, not the type of spot I would ever have her sleep. It was a long weekend, so I’m not sure if they were full and finding extra spots for dogs to sleep or if it’s a spot they usually use. There was clearly something seriously wrong so I took her to the vet. They found she had broken her toe below the joint. The end of the toe had to be removed, leaving just a stub, and the nail will never grow back. There was also an abrasion on the side of the toe. I called Just like home to tell them that she was seriously hurt and had required surgery which cost almost $500. They were very rude, saying: What are you accusing us of, we didn’t hurt her, she hurt herself, and if you think we’re paying we aren’t. I told them that all I was saying is that I left her in their care and when I returned she was badly injured, but actually I did feel they have some responsibility. At a minimum I suggested they should be refunding the boarding fee (that I had paid in advance). They refused saying the waiver I signed says they are not responsible for injuries. They even questioned the injury saying "I don't know your vet..." At no point was there even an apology. I know accidents can happen, but I feel like the environment there was more risky than it should have been and I was very disappointed by both their response to the injury and their attitude around it. I will not be returning.
I've takem my dogs here multiple times. Never had a bad experience. They are good people and always show that they care about my dogs. This is the only place I'll leave my dogs.
Although the owners clearly care about the pets that they take care of it was unfortunately not a good experience for my partner and I. We travel often and saw the good reviews online. After picking up our Bernese mountain dog and golden retriever we noticed a deep gouge in the top of our Berneses head and a rash on his stomach (same rash was on our golden) took the Berny to the vet the very next day and the vet explained he either a) got his head stuck under a fence or b) got bitten by a much larger dog & that it couldn't have been our golden because his jaw wasn't wide enough for the bite. She explained it must have happened earlier in the days we dropped him off as black flies had gotten into his gouge and it was infected. Not really sure how no one noticed that he has the cut on his head because the smell was pungent and the kennels have 24 hour security cameras to monitor them. A $200 vet bill later & even though we explain what happened to the owners who assured us they were not with other dogs we were offered no apology. The rash on both of them was from black flies which is understandable as they were outside so it would be silly to be mad about that. However for the cut in our dogs head made the experience very disappointing.
Can't say enough great things about them. So kind and friendly. My golden retriever just lives it. We use it two or three times a year. Would not go anywhere else.
The only place we leave are two beagles at they are treated like family. Beautiful spot lots of space for all size of dogs.
