My two kitties loved Eileen! Even the shy one warmed up to her almost immediately. I honestly think they were disappointed when I came home. Eileen was also thoughtful about looking after the house and left everything clean and tidy. Most importantly, she was a great communicator - I looked forward to her daily updates and pictures (and she got some great pics). i would welcome her back anytime she wants to sit in Asheville.

Sarah and Chris were great sitters for the weekend we were gone. No issues came up and they left the house clean and well kept.

Irina and Ruslan were fabulous cat sitters we'd be happy to host again! We each had a sit and a sitter fall through last minute and they made it easy and seamless to make plans and coordinate. They are kind and thoughtful house guests who go above and beyond. They clearly enjoyed hanging out with Byelka and did a great job taking care of her. Thanks!!

I really hate leaving this review and am only posting this review because I don't want anyone else to have to have the same experience. I also hope Davesh takes this feedback to heart and improves conditions for himself and his precious pups.

I regretfully have to agree with everything sitter Arthur said in his 2 star review in March of 2024 (please read) and say that it was substantially worse during my sit in May, 2024.

Gosh I wish I had listened and moved on!

I arrived in NY after a long day of travel from California at the time communicated I would arrive. Davesh didn't want me to come up and I ended up having to wait over 4 hours before being given the code to the apartment. Davesh, who was very pleasant, was long gone.

My first steps inside the apartment I found the stench of defecation nauseating. Any reasonable person would have turned around and left after taking a few steps inside, but I looked at those two sweet dogs and felt like I needed to rescue them.

The rug you see pictured was soaked with urine and poorly cleaned up/smeared poop. Everything Arthur said about the filth of the fridge, freezer, utensils, cooking devices, plates etc was also found. Areas of the walls had things splattered on them...there was even stuff on the ceiling in one place.

According to all reviews, the outdoor potty training has been (unsuccessfully) going on for 6 months. I think there has been enough time to admit that isn't happening. All they knew when I got there is to go on the big rug whenever they need to.

I rolled up the pee soaked rug day 2 to find the wood flooring destroyed underneath from long term exposure to the moisture. This helped so much with smell, I ordered and used disposable training pads because I couldn’t handle the stench of the reusable training pad.

In the first several days (mostly breathing through my mouth), I cleaned at least 3-4 hours a day just so I could handle touching or using things. I used every scent masking item in the apartment (and there were a lot), opened each window the 2-3" they would allow and put the fan to drive in fresh air. I kept it like that the whole time.

Pet/defecation clean up after that was 30+ minutes a day provided you aren't gone too long. Count on a big mess and 60-120 minutes (to clean up the mess and all the floors it was tracked on) if you are gone more than 4 hours. I ended up spending several hundred $ on Ubers so I could see a show or something without having to do more cleaning.

In the listing, Davesh requests 2 walks a day of 15 minutes each, this is nowhere near sufficient. These are active dogs used to running and playing all day. I did 3-6 walks a day for 30-60 minutes each (2-3 hours a day).

I wasn’t provided with blanket for the bed and the sheets on the bed were wet and I'm not sure from what. I slept in a chair the first night and bought my own bedding. While I was irritated at the expense, it was nice to know that I could count on those things being clean.

Closets were stuffed and I wasn’t provided with any alternate place to put my belongings. One of the dogs ate my shoe.

So - this sit ended up costing me a plane ticket, over $500 in bedding and Ubers, and my favorite (not cheap) flip flops. And then there was the 25+ hours of cleaning. Far from the free and easy sit advertised.

The view is amazing, and the pups are a treasure, but the rest is kind of a nightmare.
