Had a super time with Mario and Oscar here near Hayes, Google says it's only 10 miles to Big Ben and the train station is literally 2 minutes walk. I had a very enjoyable time with the boys, they were no trouble, just needing feeding and a bit of attention, they used the catflap to get in and out so no door duty! The house itself was warm and comfortable, I slept very well and was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was despite being so close to Hayes High Street, I thoroughly recommend sitting here!
Taking care of Lucy was such a joy!! Meghan has a beautiful home and the neighborhood was great as well. Felt very safe here as a solo queer female traveler. Lucy spent most of her time outside and i would just check on her every hour. She has very “old lady” energy in the most endearing way. It would be a pleasure pet sitting here again - i could not recommend Meghan more !
Katie was so great to sit for. She’s lovely and very helpful with any questions I had. She had her room set up lovely for my arrival. Bucket is a real sweetie. Loves to cuddle although shy for the first few minutes. Very close by train or bus to downtown and Amtrak station. Thanks Katie and Bucket!
It was such a pleasure to visit Pam and her little farm in this countryside town 4 hours west of Paris. Pam is a great communicator and will have everything ready for you to be comfortable and watch the animals with care. I did not have experience taking care of horses so she had a backup but if you have experience, she will lead you to how to successfully feed, clean, and care for her 3 beautiful hooved friends. Her dogs Maise and Poppy were a joy. I felt safe and secure at her home. Poppy and Maise are so sweet and such a joy. They are in a special diet. If you are a vegetarian, this may be challenging :) you must take care to keep Maise on a lead/leash at all time before heading outside. We had a lot of fun hanging out at the property and walking to the horse stalls to say hi, each morning. I’m a digital nomad and had no problems with the Wi-Fi. Except when there was a storm but I just needed to trip the fuse switch. I worked at the kitchen table and had full access to the kitchen/ coffee maker/fridge. I had a guest bedroom with a full size bed and her bathroom was just remodelled and very lovely. The weather was chilly a few days and rained quite a bit during my stay so I had a big supply of firewood and made a cozy fire for me and pets while I worked online. Please note, I was on foot travelling so I utilised busses and trains for transit. Pam was able to pick me up at the nearest train station (35 minutes from her house.) I hope to see Pam and the pets again. If you are a DN or travelling by public transit, I recommend transit to Le Mans, rent a car there, then drive the rest of the way to Pam’s so that you have transportation to visit the cute nearby towns, coffee shops, markets and grocers, hiking and walking areas. Enjoy your stay!
We had a wonderful time looking after Fozzi and Frankie . Fozzi is an old man now but enjoys his walks in the countryside. Frankie is definitely the boss, including taking us on guided walks nearby , he knows all the routes . Beautiful walks through the forest are abundant, with the peace and quiet of the countryside, and only fifteen minutes from the spa town of Harrogate. The barn is a fabulous large barn conversion, tastefully converted into a beautiful home. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and is well equipped. The interior is modern and Tec driven with a brilliant lighting system . The Sonos system is throughout and extends into the garden, so prep your favourite groves. The only neighbours are the deer that appear early in the morning. We found plenty to do while here, with The Smith Arms , a thirty-minute walk; say PUB to Frankie, and he will lead you to the door. The pub is dog friendly, has great food, and the staff are friendly. It is a recommended visit. While the barn enjoys beautifly maintained gardens, Harlow Carr is only at the top of the road. [no dogs allowed]. But you will receive a warm welcome from the boys on your return. The guest bedroom was very comfortable with wonderful linen and a comfortable mattress. The fresh air and wonderful surroundings lead to a good night's sleep. Graham and Lynn were terrific hosts, very warm, welcoming, and down-to-earth. We hope to sit again for Graham and Lynn in the near future .
We so enjoyed our sit with Argo and Alice! Jett and Matt are friendly people who made us comfortable right from the start. They invited us to come stay a day early to let Argo and Alice get familiar with us and to get aquatinted with their routine. Throughout the process they were prompt with communication and made sure we had everything we needed.Their home is clean, organized, and comfortable. South Dakota has so much to offer. The area is full of iconic places to visit and countless beautiful nature opportunities. Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, The Badlands, ect.. Argo and Alice are easy to care for and adorable times 2! Argo is like cuddly little bear cub with a precious personality. Alice plays hard to get, but does enjoy some one on one time on her time. We enjoyed our stay and would jump at the opportunity to sit for Jett and Matt in the future. Don't miss your opportunity if you get the chance.
