There are literally not enough stars to give Kat. She was amazing by every on-app and off-app definition of the word. I honestly am not sure I should even list all the ridiculously helpful ways she was awesome because the bar, even for her will be so high that she could injure herself trying to hit it again for us or anyone else. But I will list them anyway (and probably forget a few because there are that many.) Kat jumped in to sit for us last minute when I cast a wide + frantic last minute net to sitters in our area. THE day before we left for a 5 night trip I still hadn’t secured a sitter but she responded and we had a same-day call where she set my mind at ease immediately and agreed to help us. By the next day, Kat had studied our Welcome Guide so well that she was pointing out my guidelines and nuanced tips to ME. She is whip smart and clearly locks information in her brain with keen efficiency. Tell her something once, it’s in there. Kat took the best care of our fur and feather babies and was a superb communicator with so much regularity I forgot to check in. THAT is peace of mind. Like, I forgot I even needed to think about the stranger in my home… WINNING! She took better care of our plants than I do. I offered our snack cabinet to her freely and she still replaced snacks she enjoyed during her sit. OMG I ALMOST FORGOT SHE ORGANIZED OUR KITCHEN CABINETS! She agreed mid-trip to stay an EXTRA NIGHT & DAY! She coordinated her departure around the time our return flight landed so the dogs wouldn’t have to be crated too long. She made sure to ask if there was anything we’d like done before returning home and I suggested she could strip the bed she used or even start the load of linens—“but like, also NBD if you don’t.” And what do you think I came home to? I bet you guessed right… A washed, dried, REMADE, and perfectly reset guest room!!! Oh and in order to do that she decided to fold the load of laundry (thank goddess it was mostly towels or I would have felt 10x worse) that I’d left in the dryer for easily 3 days before we left town. ALSO SHE FOLDS THE TOWELS THE RIGHT WAY! Again, I know I’m forgetting something but you get it. She’s amazing. She deserves all her kudos and flowers and I cannot wait to coordinate with her again. Kat, you are a gift! Thank you again! 🫶🏽
Jesika and Jay were great. They were reliable and quick to reply to any communication. Our kitties were happy when we got back after a long sit and the apartment was in excellent condition.
When she thought my pets may have been posioned she called 2 physics for a reading, before calling to inform me about my dogs, which was extremely upsetting. Then she left the sitter job early with very short notice. As I am out of the country and I could not find a replacement in time. I returned home as quickly has I could, but came home to urine and fecis. She shared concerns and questioned my neighbors about various things. I asked her not to bother my neighbors yet she insisted. She opened the door to a stranger at night endangering herself and pets. Her stories are inconsistent and feel she has no consideration for this and is extremely manipulative.
We had such a wonderful stay at Paul and Jenny's. Midge, Simba and Moon are fabulous to look after! Midge enjoys both shorter local walks, and long walks on the fells, and she'll chase a ball for hours! She's wonderfully good natured and very safe around our 3 children. She loves to be wherever you are so I had a little shadow for the duration of our sit, which was lovely! Simba and Moon are also very friendly and didn't take long to warm to us at all. They both liked to sleep with us and spent the evenings curled up having cuddles while we watched tv. All the animals were very easy to care for and lovely to be around. Paul and Jenny left us all the information we could possibly need and we met with them the day before our sit started to go through details and be shown where to find everything. They were so welcoming and we felt really comfortable. Their house is beautiful and located right on Main Street in Cockermouth, so an easy walk to shops, cafes, supermarket etc and bus stop (note, buses run too other major towns but you'll need a car to make the most of the Lake District). Despite being right in the centre, it's set back from the road so is really very quiet and secluded. They have an adjoining flat which they opened up to a Ukrainian dad and son - they're lovely and my kids loved playing with the son. This is a wonderful sit for families - Paul and Jenny's children generously shared their bedrooms and toys, and their pets are obviously used to kids! We would love to come back if they'll have us!
