Lucy and Bob were incredibly welcoming, and I had a great time enjoying village life. Lucy also collected me and dropped me at the nearest train station in Petersfield which was greatly appreciated! Minnow was very easy to look after, equally happy frolicking through the woods or sitting at my feet by the fire, and I really enjoyed her company.
This was such an enjoyable sit! Javier Jorge Juan (Javi) is smart, funny, adorable and an all-around exceptionally good boy. Karen and Tom were so friendly, generous and welcoming, and you can tell how much they care about Javi. They were excellent communicators and provided a nice written guide with important sitter info. They live in a beautiful area close to everything you’d need, and their huge house is filled with art of all kinds. Amazing! The yard is big and lush and a great place to relax with coffee in the morning or another libation in the evening. Javi is a great communicator with his eyes, paws, expressions and actions. He loves his walks and his ball and he will burrow under the covers with you in bed. He takes his twice daily eye drops like a trooper too. We bonded quickly and I will miss this little man!
Victoria and Nick are excellent hosts. Everything they did to make our stay feel comfortable and welcome was perfect. We had a day with Nick before he left to join Victoria, and it was really beneficial for us to have him show us around the house along with various walks around the island. We fell in love with Cilla the adorable cocker spaniel, who was a great companion. It was a joy to walk her on the beach and she is clearly a very happy dog. She is well-behaved, excitable and loving, and we'd love to see her again! We made use of all the entertainment available at the house: tennis, snooker, board games and puzzles, and of course a cosy area to settle down and watch some tele. We were certainly never bored! We were also fortunate to have use of Victoria and Nick's car during our stay, enabling us to really explore the island. The house is in a great location, just a short walk to the beach and a fantastic pub The Seymour, which we frequented most days for some food or drinks. St Helier is also an easy bus-ride away. Jersey has certainly won us over, what a beautiful island to have visited and fantastic memories made.
Brunella is a great host! Everything is taken care of in all aspects: good communication and helpfulness. Brunella welcomed me in her house and from the first moment she showed me kindness and hospitality. I definitely recommend this sit. A strong embrace for you and Lucy ☺️
It was an absolute pleasure staying with Alf, Daisy and Flossy in Chris and Lulu’s home while they were away. From the start, it was easy to communicate with Lulu. She was always quick to answer any questions and provided a comprehensive guide to caring for her home and her four legged family. She invited me to come the evening before their morning departure and prepared a nice vegan meal. She helped me to work out a plan and picked me up from the bus stop when I learned at the last minute that my train to Fairwater had been cancelled. Both she and Chris were very warm and welcoming. Their home and gardens are so lovely. The house is light and full of vibrant colours and the back gardens are beautiful, with lots of pretty flowers just coming into bloom, a pool (closed for the winter), an in ground trampoline and lots of toys for the dogs and room for them to play. After traveling for several weeks and eating way too much restaurant food, it was great to cook in their beautiful and well stocked kitchen. The conservatory is so relaxing and inviting and the guest room is so comfortable. Nearby are several parks where the dogs could run off lead and there are numerous places to walk. It is an easy commute into Cardiff by train or bus, where there is a lot to see and do. Their housekeeper, Jan, was kind and helpful and gardener, John, was always up for a cup of tea and a quick chat. Even the people I met while walking the dogs were so nice and friendly. Finally, the animals are a delight. From the friendly, smart and loyal Flossy to the elegant and charming Daisy to the handsome and sweet Alf, they each had their own personalities. The dogs were my constant companions who dutifully followed me everywhere in the house and were always ready to go for a walk. Alf has a purr loud enough to hear across the room and sometimes would jump up onto my lap for a cuddle. I missed them all as soon as I closed the door for the last time. If you are lucky enough to be chosen to stay with Daisy, Flossy and Alf you are in for a very pleasant time.
We had a brilliant time on our stay. Woody is such a lovely dog and it was a pleasure to look after him. We loved exploring the grounds and surrounding countryside with him and also took him on our Kielder walks. The house really well located if you want to explore Kielder Forest and Water, we found so many great walks and places to visit. The house is really cool and creative - we loved the open plan space and star spotting from the balcony
