Andrew and Sue were very easy to work with and Bert was an absolute delight to care for. Their home was lovely and we had a lovely time there. Would be happy to housesit there again.
Laura and Greg were so kind and they have a lovely, comfortable and private home. We were thankful that Laura’s guidance was thorough and clear as it allowed us to feel fully informed and prepared during the stay. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the patio/garden and cooking meals in their fully equipped kitchen. The comfortable furniture and bed also made us feel right at home. We had multiple great options for working spaces and reliable internet (a must for us digital nomads). The grocery store is very close (you could take a lovely trail if you wanted to walk 15 min) and Mt Vernon offers a great Co-op and coffee shop and restaurants in its downtown. We were thrilled to be there during the summer so we could enjoy the delicious summer vegetables plucked from Laura’s impressive garden! It’s an oasis! The (minimal) watering was also a breeze with the many hose points in the yard. Penny Poppins, their Boston Terrier, is so sweet and adores people. She LOVES to play and nap in your lap and responds well to commands. We became fast friends and we miss her already! Laura and Greg were kind enough to leave us a welcome bottle of wine and Laura was very sweet to drive us to a nearby relative’s house when they got home. Communication throughout was great. We highly recommend this sit and hope to return!
Audrey and I had a wonderful time caring for Harley and Rusty. They are sweet, loving and comical ! We enjoyed a beautiful view of the pond with lots of birds. Deb was very thorough with all the information that might be needed in their absence. Their home is clean , comfortable and organized. The Villages lives up to its reputation.Everyone is friendly with plenty of things to do. Driving the golf cart was convenient for local shopping and entertainment Lots of fun. The heated pools are great! If you have the opportunity to sit for Harley and Rusty you are sure to enjoy Be prepared for a huge greeting by these two when you enter ❣️They are so happy to see you with lots of kisses. We have fond memories and would gladly return if we have the opportunity to do so. Ann and Audrey
We had a fabulous time with Haggis and Taggart. The most affectionate, fun, sweet and easy going Westies. They loved their walks along Hove Lawns and even into The Laines having a sniff at The Pavilion Gardens on the way. It was the start of the Brighton Festival so we took them along to the children’s parade with 5000 children and they were chilled and good as gold bringing lots of smiles to everyone! They love their beach time, Haggis sniffing the pebbles and happy to relax when we sat by the waves to have a rest. Taggart loves her ball throwing and they walk happily off the lead with good recall. They are snuggly dogs in the evening, happily making sure they keep you nice and warm in and on your lap while watching the tv. They sleep soundly, so really these two are THE BEST 🐾🐾 Fiona’s home is just perfect, cosy, clean and comfy. The top of the road are the shops, the bottom is the beach, yet it’s a quiet and rather chic neighbourhood with bird song in the garden. Fiona will make sure you feel right at home, a kind, caring and clear communicator. It’s a dream Hove sit. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you find yourself here you are very lucky!
We had a good experience taking care of the house and pets of Piyush and Vinuta. Their two golden retrievers are extremely affectionate and playful. One dog being in heat and the other male reacting on it resulted in an unexpected situation that we were unfamiliar with. However, Piyush and Vinuta explained it clearly and were responsive for any questions we had. The cat is very sweet and easy to take care of. Piyush and Vinuta kindly allowed us to use their whole house, which is very nice and a close distance to the beach (that the dogs love!). They also offered us to stay a night before and after our stay (because of train strikes) and even to order food for us. All in all they were very considerate to make sure we were comfortable :)
I can totally recommend this housesit. Kingsley the kitten/cat was adorable and great company for the week. Lydia and Dan are both lovely and communicated well prior to and during the sit. The house/flat is tucked away on a side street so noise isn't really an issue; its spacious, warmly decorated and beautifully laid out with a mezzanine level that's great area for yoga, reading and also working from if you need a desk! Transport is easy if you want to access London - with it being very close to bus stops and close to both Herne Hill station (which goes to Brixton and Victoria) and Dulwich stations. The nearby green areas of Brockwell Park and Dulwich park are lovely to walk and relax in. There's even a great outdoor Lido in Brockwell park which is open all year and fantastic to swim in! Herne Hill and Dulwich village have good coffee shops and supermarkets; there's even a small one of each just around the corner from the house. In essence, you have everything you could want and need close to the house in easy access. Lydia and Dan - thank you for trusting me with your home and Kingsley (whom I fell in love with:). Thank you also for sorting out parking for me and offering your bikes (to ride around London). The gesture was greatly appreciated. I would be happy to sit for you both again. Warm regards Jo
