Irulan and Julian are perfect hosts and their furry companions are adorable. We were invited to a home made dinner and given a very comfy bedroom and bathroom. The house is spacy and has a magnificent view at the rear. The location is at walking distance of the small town North Tawton with some shops. It is rural and there are plenty of public footpaths just around the corner for walking Beebee, once outside an energetic working spaniel who loves to throw ball. There are some fields closeby that are perfect for that and she really loves it. Louie the Maine Coon is the king of the house with his gracious manners. He is very affectionate once he knows you, we were happy this did not take a long time :-) A few miles distance to the border of the Dartmoor National Park. We had a great time, thanks again for having us. Sent | Sep 14, 2022
I wholehearted recommend caring for Ali's home and his two little guinea pigs Bunny and Little One. His home is well appointment and located in a nice, safe and residential neighbourhood. It was really peaceful and a great place to relax. Within a quick 15 mins walk to the metro with easy access to all the sites of DC. Home has all the modern conveniences and amenities. Ali is very gracious and super helpful. His two little girls are a treat. This is my first time caring for guinea pigs and you can't help but fall for them. They have their own little personalities and its been fun getting to know them. I would be happy to care for them again in the future. They are very chill and not much of a fuss at all. They like cuddles and generally hanging out. Caring for their cages is really easy everything is made available for you. All in all this was a wonderful opportunity and I am happy I got the chance to meet Ali and his guinea pigs.
We had the most wonderful time living the good life on Lindsey and Howard's beautiful property, caring for their amazing menagerie of animals. Dogs Titus and Hero are very well behaved, and very endearing, they enjoyed hopping in the car to go for walks with us on the nearby stunning Selborne Common. Orlando is a very friendly farmyard cat, busy on mouse patrol. Copper the horse and Ringo the donkey are gentle easy-going souls and an absolute pleasure to care for, I miss Ringo's greeting as I came down the path in the mornings! With the many animals this is a busy sit, probably best for couples, but we soon got into a routine and halved the time we took on the first day! There is still plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful peaceful environment Lindsey and Harold have created, we felt so lucky to be there, having lunch in the sun at the "Temple". Gorgeous! The surrounding area has many lovely places to visit, though we were very happy just to "be" on the farm. Communication both before and during our stay was excellent, any questions promptly answered. Lindsey and Howard invited us to stay the night before , which was very helpful, and cooked us a marvelous meal. They were so generous, leaving us bottles of wine , and food in the fridge, and of course there were freshly laid duck, hen and quail eggs every day! We are very happy to have been invited back next time we are in UK ! Thank you Lindsey and Howard, and to Julia for helpful tips. Looking forward to seeing you next year some time !
Andrew and Jan were outstandingly warm and welcoming hosts, putting us at ease immediately. They provided us with a Welcome Guide and took us on a tour to familiarize us with the local area. We later enjoyed a delightful evening in great company, with relaxed conversation over drinks and a delicious dinner. Barney and Ruff are very lovable. Barney has a wonderful temperament and delights in his walks and ball play. He was a great companion. Although Ruff is essentially an outdoor cat, he sought and welcomed daily contact with us (especially tummy rubs). The house is an outstanding example of a barn conversion – designed to provide exceptional comfort and amazing views. Jan and Andrew are an extremely gracious and caring couple – it was a privilege to have met them. We highly recommend this house sit.
Dixie is cute and playful and easy to care for. She generally liked to be near me in whatever room I was in, allowing some head and back scratches (when it suited her, of course!) and she absolutely loved to play, sometimes with me and sometimes quite happily by herself. Stewart had already left when I arrived, so I only met Dianne. She is very welcoming and kind and their home in Parksville is spacious, comfortable, and clean. A thorough welcome guide was provided as well as everything I needed to care for both Dixie and their home. I would gladly stay with with Dixie again.
Rimante, Caesar and Inka were such welcoming hosts and really made me feel part of the family. I met the gang and stayed at Rimante’s the night before her flight. She introduced me to my new waggy-tailed companions with a walk around the neighbourhood and local parks before making a delicious dinner. Followed by the best cacao - just wow! Rimante’s kindness and generosity shines through and I felt privileged to be able to help out and care for these beautiful doggies. It feels like a meeting of similar minds and I am so thankful to have met you all! I’d happily stay with these beautiful souls again. The neighbours were friendly and helpful too. The house is cosy, has everything you’d need and care instructions are fully explained. I’d recommend this sit for those who have experience with dogs plus the patience and TLC to give these seniors the happy days they so deserve. Until the next time <3
