Melanie (Mel) was outstanding. Took excellent care of our home and our dog, Mochi. She checked in regularly while we were away, was most attentive to the quirks of "this old house," and was thoroughly thorough and thoughtful with respect to Mochi's needs (diet, walks, etc.). Could not recommend her more highly.
Nadja’s home, rural setting, abundant garden, and sweet pets made for a peaceful and enriching retreat! Nadja communicated easily and is immensely hospitable. Max and MoMo are the sweetest chill cats and Mylo is full of spunk! He is a solid muscle little guy who is easily entertained! He’s a lot of fun! The location is perfect to explore activities throughout the gorge. Loved staying here! Would definitely return. It’s also heartwarming to know I’ve made a new friend in Nadja.
Alyssa is the most welcoming, thoughtful person! She makes you feel at home and goes above and beyond. And sweet Georgie has the greatest personality. He will make you laugh, cuddle, talk to you....I loved staying with him!
My stay at Margaret's with her two dogs, Coqui & Hogan, and one cat, Arnie, was excellent. Their home is in a beautiful golf community ideal for dog walking in the North Carolina hills. I worked from her screened-in porch overlooking the course. The neighbors are all extraordinarily friendly and kind, as are Margaret and Bill. As their first sitter, Coqui & Hogan required a little time to acclimate to me and a change in their routine; both are friendly and well-behaved and great to walk. Arnie is a sweetie-pie, one of my favorite kitties. Margaret's home was spotless and was great to work from.
Dex the cat is awesome. Very cool cat - almost Bengal personality! The house is on the side of a mountain up a one-way road so blocks and delays on the road happened often. This is not an accessible home - there are several long and short steps to get to the front door. Laundry room is downstairs and office is upstairs through a short opening that requires you to hunch over to step through (I am only 5'4"). At the time of my sit, there were not screens on any windows except for the guest room and bathroom on the main floor. View from the upstairs office is amazing, but it gets HOT up there and Seth requested that unscreened windows aren't opened without supervision to avoid spiders coming into the house. Seth had recently moved in so the house was in-progress. I had some cleanliness concerns upon arrival (first time I've experienced that a year of full-time THS usage) and Seth was very forgiving and willing to work with me to bring in a different cleaning crew than the one he had used prior to my arrival. Washing machine was molded, open beverage/other product containers/used eyedrop applicators on most surfaces, old dirty linens scattered outside the house and piled on the floor of the laundry room, and many kitchen utensils were coated in grease. The kitchen itself had a ton of tools/appliances, but there was zero organization to it so it was very difficult to find what I needed sometimes (one cupboard would have pans, tupperware, supplement bottles, and pantry foods all thrown in a pile in them). I really appreciated Seth's candor and responses to my feedback - personally he was great to work with, but the space at the time of my sit was not comfortable for me.
Susan and Charlie's sit came up in the right location and right time for me. They have a gorgeous home in Scripps Ranch and Cooper and Linus are easy to care for. They have their own section of the house to reside in and they love it and love going to their special spot at night to go to bed! It was a short sit and I had to spend some time away at work, but I would return to sit there as well. Charlie was also nice enough to accommodate me a night early. If you are there during a day the housekeeping team comes, expect that you will have to find some of the items in different places later.
Banksy is a sweet gentle cat and was the cutest to hang out with. He enjoys snuggles and playing. The location of this sit is awesome - close to downtown as well as 32nd Street with shops and restaurants. Would love to do this sit again.
