Shannon was so great! We met her and saw her home before deciding to board our chihuahua, Dash with her. Shannon is very knowledgeable about dog care and answered all of our questions thoroughly. Dash got personal attention throughout the day and cuddles in the evening. Shannon sent daily updates with pictures, reassuring us that he was doing well while we were gone. We couldn't have asked for better care for our little guy!

Our family has three small dogs that span a variety of ages (from 17 to 4!) and we travel a few times a year. With the stresses that come with traveling, the care and safety of our dogs is not one of them. The overnight care they receive via Shannon and Doug is even better than having them stay with family or friends. They are so attentive to our dogs' every and varied needs. Prior to the overnight stay, Shannon takes a lot of time to get to know the dogs needs and asks all the right questions. While we are away, we get great updates and photos — very reassuring when you are a hemisphere away! I'm especially heartened by Shannon's expertise with small dogs as this is an important factor for me when I look for caretakers for our pups. We lovingly spoil our dogs and we're so happy to have found care for them that knows to do the very same!

Shannon and Doug have taken care of two generations of cats in our family. They were kind and caring with our aging cats and our new kittens. I love to travel and feel secure knowing they are there for our pets. Shannon is highly detail-oriented and checks carefully to make sure she is familiar with all aspects of the cats' care. We've had nothing but great experiences with Doug and Shannon's cat sitting service. They've looked in on our cat several times over the past few years when we've taken trips out of the country. It puts our minds at ease to know that they are taking good care of our cat while we're away. I appreciate that they send cute photos and take time to play with her. I love Mrs Geanine! She sends a daily report card with information and pictures. I've attached a few. She describes meals, activities, stool & urine output for the day. They celebrate all the holidays with the dogs. They celebrate the birthdays of the dogs. My baby loves to go to doggy daycare and it wears her out! She will sleep the entire next day. Besides that, it allows my baby to stay a social dog and the prices are extremely reasonable. I even use her as my groomer ! I have recommended her to several people. She is a 10 out of 10!

Bentley absolutely loves going to Canine Cay whether it be for grooming or for daycare. As soon as we pull up, he’s bursting with excitement and would probably literally jump out of the window if he weren’t in a seatbelt. It’s a joy to know that someone loves your dog just as much as you do so you know he’s in great care. JanNean does a fantastic job at grooming and Bentley is always being complimented afterwards. Having a mixed breed poodle requires a lot of maintenance and she ensures that I am aware of how to care for him in between. I can’t praise Canine Cay enough for such a great experience. She even hosts events and crafts for the pups to partake in. No need to contemplate any longer, you and your pup will LOVE it there.

Canine Cay is the place to take your beloved pooches! I am very skeptical about who watches my dogs and have forgone many trips due to not having trusted care for them. The staff and owner at Canine Cay put me at ease before leaving my babies with them. They send daily reports/pictures and my shy doggies have opened up and become more social after only one stay. JanNean even agreed to keep my babies last minute so I can attend a family obligation. We were going to drive if we had to take the dogs but now we are able to fly. Don’t hesitate to reach out to them for your canine care needs!

Quality time is made up of caring professional people. When I had need for a mid-day dog walk they were more than glad to cover that. When I had need for an evening visit they were there for me. They are bonded and insured and love working with pets.

Top notch dog boarding & daycare business. My wife and I boarded out 11 month old puppy here for two weeks and we have zero hesitation about taking her back in the future. The regular feedback and updates we received while away was very comforting. While we were there for drop off and pick up we could easily tell this is a well run operation that cares about their staff performance and our pets.

This place is the Ritz. My 18 year old dog sprints around like a puppy after staying here- he loves it. Highly recommend. Edited: A year and a half in and he still loves it. They're friendly and helpful and communicative- 10/10 would recommend. Yes, it's expensive, but most places out here are and offer signficantly worse care.

We have boarded our dog Wallace at the Dogwood Acres Davidsonville location twice. Last week we had to go overseas on short notice and thankfully they had space. It gave us peace of mind to know he was there while we were so far away. The staff is lovely and caring, the facility is clean and I really appreciate how stringent they are with making sure any pet boarding there is up to date on vaccines, including the canine influenza vaccine. Receiving texts, photos and access to the webcams also helped us know our furry friend, who can be a bit shy with new people, was settling in and doing well throughout his stay. He came home clean, tired from all the play sessions and nature walks and didn’t miss a beat settling back into his home schedule, which for us is a good indication of how he was well cared for during his stay. Thank you and great job Dogwood Acres team!

Been trying to get my dog in fir her first day. Keep leaving voicemails. We get calls back and gave been playing phone tag for 2 weeks. Is it to hard to answer your phones when someone calls? Or maybe schedule something when we had the tour? Horrible business practices. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. if they can't answer the phone to give them money, how will they act when they are taking care of your pets.

A week long retreat cost me $1000 for 2 dogs. My dogs appeared to have had a great time and the staff legit seemed to love animals. The facility is nice and cozy, I liked the fact that they have web cams up so you can check in on the 4 legged family members. They lost a star when my 2 dogs came home with kennel cough and diarrhea however. That was another fun vet bill!

Very bad experience with Dogwood Acres in Davissonville. Took our dog in for day care. We took the pain to send vaccine records several weeks ahead and got confirmation of receipt. However, the young lady at the reception could not locate the records. We insisted that she take the time to find the documents. Finally we had to show the hard copies of the records. The young lady did apologize for the incident. We were totally frustrated with her her inept ability. Clearly, she was inexperience. We might have raised our voice in frustration but never used any curse words. That afternoon my wife received a call from the Customer Service. We had to call her back. The Customer Service lady was anything but providing customer service. She told us that there is not a fit for our dog meaning that they will not accept our dog in the future. No attempt to understand our version of the incident. Very negative attitude in all respects. Very rude response by the Customer Service lady. Do not go here. It is not what the newspaper has described the place to be.

Around 2017 was the first time we used Dogwood Acres(Davidsonville). We took our 2 cats for a little over a week long boarding. Katniss and Torie. Torrie was still a kitten. The staff were great with my kitties. I figured they would be since Torie was still a kitten....lol. Seriously though, I loved the updates about how they were doing while we were so far away. I also appreciated the tour of the cat area so I could see where they would be. This year (2023) we used the Stevensville location for our new puppy when a family member passed. Davidsonville didn't have any openings and it was really short notice. They fit us in within 48 hours. The staff was absolutely incredible. Super sweet, patient because Dude (yes, that's our pups name...lol) wasn't to sure about the strange people trying to take him away from me. I had to extend his visit once we were able to schedule the funeral, and one more time when I realized my mom needed me a little longer. We didn't pack enough food for the second extension, but they offered their food. Huge relief. When we got there to pick him up he acted like he didn't want to leave. It made my heart happy since I had just gone through such a tough time, and I felt guilty for extending his time. I've used them twice since then and as soon as he sees where we are he gets excited. We recently had a pet event at my work and Dogwood Acres donated items to put in our "doggy bags" for customers. I made sure to tell everyone that had never heard of them about my experience. Thank you so much for making my pup's stay there a good one. I will always recommend you guys.

As a first time customer with Dogwood, my experience was not good at all. I was told that I’d receive photos of my dog’s stay however, I did not. When I picked up my dog today, the receptionist said the photos were supposed to be sent on Sunday and that she could see if they could be sent today. I told her that it’s no point now since I’m here to pick up my dog. I thought the point of photos was to share with owners how their dog is doing during their stay. What would be the purpose of sending photos after pickup? I spent my entire trip worrying if my dog was alive and well because no photos or communications were sent to me. I received a report this morning at 6AM , my scheduled pickup was 8AM. It would’ve been nice to receive the report earlier. Additionally, my dog’s favorite toy and recent birthday gift was lost during the stay. I was told that if it’s found I will receive a call. The combination of no photos and losing his toy is why we won’t be returning. I was hoping he’d have a good experience but this is too much. I had to leave Dogwood this morning before I went off on someone and acted out of character. This is unacceptable and left a terrible impression.

Our little Yorki-Poo-Chi loves staying at Dogwood Acres. He hasn't mentioned anything he'd like to see changed. The staff are all super friendly, and the rates are very reasonable for what he receives.

Went for a tour and the outside in the back smelled like weed being smoked!!! I don’t know if anyone lives in the house that connects to the building but i know someone was smoking weed close to where the dogs were. I will not be bringing my dog here weed is not safe for them to be around

The first meet and greet, Kate and her colleague came to meet our puppy and go over in detail what was expected during her dog walks, training, habits etc. She also shadow her colleague on the first few days to make sure it was a smooth transition for our girl. We have been customers for almost a year now. 100% reliable, caring, pay attention to detail and my dog loves her caretakers! The best part is our work is both mental and physically tiring so to come home to a happy tired dog is worth every penny. Kate's Pet Care is without a doubt the best I have had in the area. She is so kind and my cat and dog love her. I never have to worry when I am away that they are not getting the best care or attention, and I always get lots of updates on her app about the visits. She offers a great value for what she provides. I tried other services like Becky's Pet Care and had a few really bad experiences. I have a dog, cat, and a fish tank, and she has taken care of all of them.

Kate and her crew are absolutely wonderful. Very reliable and accommodating; they do their research and are more than willing to give individualized special care for each pet. Travis was excellent taking care of my minipig while I was away, following instructions down to a tee and making sure she got everything she needed. I didn't have to worry one bit. The report cards are great so you know how your pet is doing during each visit.

I found Kates pet sitting service after looking for a long time for someone to watch my pets. I have a dog who is very shy but super sweet and most people are scared of him, and won’t give him a chance. Kates team is super patient with him and it shows. After a last minute debacle with my normal boarding facility, I had to scramble to find a place on such short notice with which I felt comfortable and confident to leave my fur baby, Duke. I reached out to 2 highly recommended/reviewed boarding facilities, and while both replied with availability, only Domestic asked if I would like to view the facility. I immediately said yes to the tour, and upon arrival, was greeted very warmly by the owner, Therese. After only a few minutes, I knew this was the place for Duke. The fact that she only takes 4 dogs at once ensures constant love and attention. In addition, the location/facility felt very home-like. The dogs have plenty of toys and much needed interaction/socialization. Photos and updates were provided over the 2 weeks that Duke was there and he even made some equine friends. I would definitely recommend Domestic Pet Care to anyone needing boarding care. Prices are extremely reasonable; In my opinion, so much so that I tried to give more but it wasn't accepted. Domestic Pet Care also provides a Veteran discount and a New Customer deal. I can guarantee that Duke will stay there again, along with my new pup, Tessa (once she arrives).

Therese has the ideal setup for boarding and we couldn’t have been happier with her services. She has 2 large fenced in areas for the dogs to play in and a nice clean indoor setup w 4 air conditioned kennels. We loved that she only boards 4 dogs at a time and never let’s the dogs play unsupervised. Our dog was not spayed yet so she made sure to pay close attention to who she could play with. We had a 1 week vacation across the country only 1 month after getting our 6 month old Lola and were very worried she would have a tough time with separation anxiety, etc. Therese gave us daily text updates with pictures letting us know she was having a great time and playing nicely with a couple of the other dogs. When our flight changed Therese was also very accommodating and had no problems letting us pick her up a day after we had originally scheduled to. We will definitely be coming back to DPC next vacation! Thanks, Therese!

Went to Fl for 4 days, googled kennels because pie regular was booked. Found this one and loved it! She sends daily pics and lets you know how your dog is doing. I would 100% recommend Therese and will be going back!

Therese is great. She knew I was nervous about boarding my dog so she sent me a few pics during her stay to ease my mind. The room where my dog spent most of her time was well air conditioned, clean, and there was a tv for back ground noise (which my pup prefers). There’s a clean outdoor play area with lots of toys and she only accepts a few dogs at one time so each animal gets the attention they deserve. I talked to about four boarders/kennels before choosing Domestic Pet Care- the other facilities I spoke with were not even amendable to letting me view the facility beforehand (sketchy). I I feel safe leaving my pup here. FYI…first responders get a discount.

Therese was amazing. We received multiple updates. Just when I was thinking I wonder how the dogs are doing, I would get a text with a photo of them. She had jackets on them when it was cold and I was able to have an awesome weekend with no worries. Domestic Pet Care was convenient and affordable. When you have a trip that you are not able to bring the entire family (pets), Domestic Pet Care will take care of the pets for you and treat them like family for you.

Theresa took loving care of our senior golden, and let us now immediately of any issues he had (itchy ears). She even cleaned his ears with our permission. Domestic Pet Care provides a lovely home-like experience in a quiet country setting, with a lovely exercise yard. Compatible dogs even have supervised play together! Our pupper had a great experience here.

We have two teacup Schnauzers - both less than 5 lbs. We are reluctant to leave them with anyone. Therese's kennel is small, safe, clean and she is an absolute gem! I highly recommend her.

We were in a jam and Therese really helped us out and took care of our shy dog this past week. She sent us photos throughout the week and our dog played with some of the dogs which she doesn’t normally do at other kennels. Therese had a great set and up and we were impressed with how she took care of our dog. We will definitely use her in the future.

Our 2 fur babies did great here. They are both rescues and scared of everything so we could not leave them in a kennel. They were well cared for and in great shape when we returned. We are so thankful for personalized attention, loving care, cool and relaxing space and daily access to a nice play yard for exercise!

Therese is wonderful! I have a dog who can be very anxious in new situations and I felt completely comfortable with Therese watching him. She went out of her way to get him used to the place (letting us tour, do a half day visit) etc. I can’t thank her enough for giving these dog parents a weekend break! My cats Kali and Kazper had a wonderful stay, when I went to pick them up, all the ladies working were very friendly and said how much they loved them and would miss them. The report card was super cute too! So glad that my babies were loved and cared for while I was away.

Our golden boy Milo had such a wonderful first day at the resort. From the kind and welcoming staff at the front desk to all the handlers who greeted Milo with warm and loving ways, we’re so thrilled we found this property. The entire facility is clean, organized, and cozy. This is what I imagine a five star pet resort should be and they’re providing an outstanding service to all fur babies.

They went above and beyond to find a space for my dogs when my husband had to have surgery even though they were fully booked and had a wait list. My dogs have always received the most wonderful care at the Perfect Pet Resort. They go out of their way to make each and every visit special. The have my highest recommendation for quality boarding and pet care.

We’ve had two dogs who’ve stayed repeatedly. We continue to drive almost an hour, even though we moved far away, because we KNOW this is the best place for our animals to stay when we’re out of town. They are accommodating and get to know individual pet needs. Their base package lets dogs out three times a day!! It’s a wonderful facility and the only place that didn’t make our first dog quiver upon returning (she was a bit nervous everywhere else, she’d stand up and wag when we pulled into the PPR driveway). Our very particular (and skittish) German shepherds do so well here and the staff is so caring and kind. The dogs get so much space compared to other facilities. We always feel so safe leaving them with Perfect Pet!

A perfect pet resort. The well-maintained lawn, the buildings, the beddings for dogs, plenty of natural ground space , etc. —a perfect recipe! All looks very clean. The front desk and field staffs are friendly and professional. Our pup had his Orientation Day there and he seemed happy and not overwhelmed after picking him up. We are trying a Daycare next and we plan to try their Lodging after. Hope it all works out. The resort has so much to offer including Spa for pets.

Another successful stay for my girl here! After we adopted her, Hannah would go into a deep depression and not eat or move from my chair when I would leave her at home for even a few days. Now she can go to “Dog Camp” for a week and come home happy and anxiety and depression free! Time has taught her to trust I’m not leaving forever. Her attitude returning home has taught me to trust she is in great hands. Nothing better than leaving her guilt-free, reminds me of when I would drop my kids off at Camp Wright for a week- all smiles when they got home. It’s going to cost you, and that old cliche you get what you pay for holds true. I’m super critical of cleanliness and Perfect Pet Resort gives me peace of mind in every way. Worth every penny! If you need to leave your dog baby get your reservation in early and know all will be well.

Josephine and Chris are a godsend! We have a very energetic and dog reactive Pudelpointer and they have been taking great care of her off and on for the last 2 years. She gets plenty of love and has been able to socialize with many dogs which is helpful in her behavior training. Highly recommended service!

Chris and his team have been so wonderful! Chris is responsive, and works with my ever-changing schedule, and is great with my dog. I love that he uses the Pet Check technology - I get an email when they arrive, and again when they leave with a note about the walk, and sometimes a picture :) Paying invoices is smooth and easy. After using two other dog walkers, we've stuck with Chris for quite some time now and I highly recommend using him and his team.

We've used Chris and Peticular Charm Per Care several times. They've always done a great job and have been consistent, reliable, and professional. I highly recommend Peticular Charm Pet Care to anyone who is looking for dog walking services in the DC area. Chris is always very responsive and helpful when I reach out to him via email about scheduling extra walks or cancelling walks. Our little dog adores his walker and looks forward to his daily afternoon walks. Our walker is diligent in checking in with us and texting us updates as needed. Lastly, the app used by Peticular Charm is very convenient--you can see when your dog was walked, what route they took, and what your dog, ahem, *did* on his walk. I really trust Peticular Charm to look after my dog and give him the walks he craves in the middle of the day.

Chris and his team of walkers are great. Mark has walked our dog for a number of months and we've been super happy (as has our puppy). Their use of the Pet Check system makes tracking and paying for service so easy and convenient. We have recommended them to several families already and will continue to do so.

I’m thrilled with the dog walking services of PETicular Charm! The owner, Chris, came by to meet our little guys, took notes on behavior and routine. Very good rates! An added plus is that Chris and his crew can board a dog at the last minute in case we have an emergency. I trust Chris and his employees explicitly with our dogs and our house! Chris is also a very well read, traveled, cultured musician with a fascinating life. My dogs are in interesting company - kinda jealous!

The team at Peticular Charm has been great! We use them for daily walks, doggy daycare once a week, and they also watched our 8 month old puppy when we were out of town for a week. They sent daily pictures and videos so that we knew our puppy was having a good time. Honestly, I think our puppy would rather live with his friends from Peticular Charm than us!

We met Chris while he was out walking one of his clients and enjoyed talking with him so much, we decided he would be our new dog walker. He is reliable and wonderful with our scaredy-pup. Prance Around Pet Services is the best! Whether they are visiting for daily walks or while you are on vacation, they are the best! My dog is blind, so it is always best for her to remain in my home instead of going into boarding. I can always count on Prance Around to show up and take good care of my girl. They write detailed notes about their visits and send the best photos of the time that they spend with my dog. It is very easy to schedule services on their website, and the owner responds quickly to texts and messages whether by phone or the chat feature on their website. Their prices are also very reasonable.

Everyone from Prance Around Pet Services has been absolutely wonderful to work with. Their sitters have been so good with my animals. It's not the easiest thing to find someone willing to pet-sit a snake, but Prance Around has sitters familiar with any type of pet you may have. I wish we hadn't moved out of their service area, I have yet to find another pet sitter of their caliber. My animals and I will truly miss the team!

They are fantastic. Take great care of my fur baby. My apt is difficult to access isolated floors. No problem for Prance Around staff. My cat Charley's personality is, how did vet put it? Fractious with people and change. I just call her my baby Bi?&h! When I travel they send me photos and reports of my baby girl and it eases my heart knowing she well cared for in my absence. Cannot recommend them enough!!

Love, love LOVE Prance Around! They love what they do, and go the extra mile (pun intended!). They took care of our sweet "shorkie-mix" Lulu for nearly 14 years before she passed away, and gave us great advice on our new doggie, a VERY active rat-terrier bread. The owner and founder even came to our home to meet our new dog "Birdie," and recommend a harness that would help us contain our very loving but escape-artist dog. We know our pets are in the best of hands with Prance Around.

Caring and professional so far. I was a little apprehensive leaving my two new-ish kittens alone for the first time, and having a stranger come into my house, but I found these guys on a Google search they treated me and the cats very well. Being a local business with accountable owners and dedicated employees makes it worth the premium (but reasonable) price. Definitely plan on having them as my go-to cat service. Tried recommending them to a coworker today but turns out he already uses them!

Prance Around hires the best petsitters ever. No matter who they send to my home, they quickly bond with my two furkids and the daily email reports aren't just informational, they provide details that assure me the sitter really "gets" my pets. In fact, my favorite pictures of my beasts was taken by one of the petsitters. I've used this company for years and if you live in one of their service areas, you should use them as well.

Hello, I went out of town for 4 days mid January and Prance around pet services provided exceptional care for my cat Diamond. Everyday I received an email with pictures and details about how my cat was doing. She was well taken care of while I traveled. I will definitely book with Prance around Pet services again. I give them 5/5 star review.

I labsolutely love this place. I don't know why it took me so long to leave a review. Shelby and her crew are amazing. I found them bc my dog HATES being confined to a crate. My dog Hannah has been coming here for 2 years now. They always take great care of her. I never have to worry if she is in good hands. The greatest part is how happy my dog is to get dropped off in the mornings! From the dog paintings in the summers to the pictures with Santa you won't ever go wrong sending your dog to Sit Play Stay!

OMG awesome awesome doggy daycare! My dog is crate averse and was asked to leave another daycare because he gave them problems about getting in the crate at break time. We loved them but this is a story of all's well that ends well. I Google crate free daycare and Sit.Play.Stay came up. Shelby and her team are complete and total Rock Stars. When my dog realizes where we are going he leans forward in the car and starts to give me kisses. He is a bulldog who can easily succumb to heat and they are clearly skilled and have pools and hoses and ensure that the dogs are cooled down. I am so happy that I found them and leave my dog there knowing he will come home tired but happy. A big shout out and thank you on behalf of Max and his family!

Highly recommend if you are looking for either a daycare or boarding facility! They have taken such great care of my pup for both. My dog is always so happy to see every staff member and always has a great time. They are reliable, professional, and kind. I would continue to use them if I wasn’t moving away from the area. Best daycare hands down. Used to bring my puppy to an overcrowded daycare in Annapolis. He dreaded going so I started looking for some other options and was lucky enough to find this gem. I commute from DC to Annapolis and its a slight deviation but so worth is. Puppy doesn't even say goodbye to me anymore cause he is so excited to be there. He spends the whole day outside with his friends and I constantly get picture updates to prove it. Shelby and her team are awesome. Can't recommend Sit Play Stay enough.

My puppy loves to go to Sit Play Stay! When I tell him he's going to daycare, he jumps around and gets so excited! Shelby and her team are very professional and provide high quality service. Daycare & boarding really doesn't get any better than this! A loving crate-free environment and so flexible and friendly! Our dog literally tries to jump out the window when I arrive in the front to drop him off at daycare. At other daycare/boarding facilities he would hug my leg and they would have to pry him away from me. Also, they are so amazing with updates. I always receive 5 to 7 picture updates every time my pup is in daycare and he always looks like he's having a blast! My husband and I had to BEG for updates with previous facilities. If you are looking for the perfect daycare/boarding service, you HAVE to give this place a try. I promise you won't regret it! :)

I highly recommend and appreciate Shelby and her team! I’ll never take my babies anywhere else! I have an 11 yr old male Olde English Bulldog and a 2 yr old female Bernedoodle. We have had three daycare days and just picked up from our first overnight boarding experience ever! My bulldog has what I thought to be pretty severe separation anxiety. Little did I know that Sit. Play. Stay offers more love and attention than I could ever offer at home! I have always paid for in-home sitters for my 11 yr old bulldog, but I’m happy to say I will never do in-home care again after boarding with Sit. Play. Stay! The crate free experience is just what my boy needed! He has literally eaten his way through several crates in the past. So when looking for more consistent care while I traveled, the crate free option alone was something I couldn’t turn away from, and I’m so glad I didn’t! I am a weirdo dog mom who spoils my dog babies way too much. So boarding my dogs for the very first time was really hard for me! Especially, with my 11 yr old boy. I received daily pictures and updates from the staff, they gave my old man his meds, and gave him the option to stay inside the fully HVAC’d space while my 2 yr old girl played her face off outside with the other younger dogs! I genuinely appreciate the “interview” process put in place to make sure every dog is safe with each other before overnight boarding. Not to mention the entire staff is AMAZING! The staff always remembers each dog by name and the dogs are always greeted with a calm yet playful energy. If you’re on the fence about boarding as I was, look no further! Sit. Play. Stay is more than worth it! I will be continuing our experience with weekly daycare for my 2 yr old Bernedoodle to keep up with exercise and exposure to other dog friends!

Wonderful daycare facility with caring staff. Great flexibility with hours and love the crate free freedom! Our pup is always excited when we turn into the driveway. Baby doggy is always nice and tired when we pick up.
