Rosie and Richard’s home in Chichester is beautiful. Rosie very kindly collected us from the train station and showed us around, leaving good instructions and lots of local info. We enjoyed a lovely home-cooked meal and terrific conversation. From the moment we met Poppy, we fell in love. She is an affectionate darling pussy-cat, yet very self-sufficient and undemanding. Chichester is a wonderful city with plenty to see and it’s a pleasant walk in (the bus is also easy). You will find all the large grocery stores there but there is also a well-stocked Co-op closer to home. If you happen to be staying when the vegie-man is delivering, do stock up as he has tasty well-priced produce. We went for some fabulous walks, through fields and quaint villages with gorgeous historical pubs. We would have loved to stay longer and can highly recommend the sit. Beware: Poppy will steal a piece of your heart.
Incredible sit if you want to spend time in nature and unwind! Taking care of all the animals does take ~1-1.5 hours per day depending on how leisurely you do things, but is super easy. (Mostly just food and water.) Great hosts, made me feel incredibly welcome, and will definitely be sitting for them again if the opportunity presents itself! One of the cats is a bit skittish, but all the other animals are super easy and friendly.
Enjoyed this house sit immensely! Jy and Claudia welcomed me warmly into their house. They were wonderful to communicate with; we met prior to the house sit, then kept in touch for the duration of their vacation. Fell in love with Bibi & Bohdi, they were the dream duo. Easy going & very loving pets who returned all the love I showered them 10 fold. The house was beautiful, in a great location, very close to the beach. I would be honoured to be able to sit for them again.
Extremely kind and hospitable hosts! Emma and Gabe were so nice to chat with and they were really clear about their pets’ needs which made everything go smoothly from day one. Their house was absolutely beautiful and in a great neighbourhood. It’s really close to groceries, coffee, and the train - really convenient! Milo and Nala are both sweet babies and a lot of fun to take care of! Milo is a strong boy, but he’s well behaved and liked to take the longest, snuggliest naps with me on the couch. He does need long walks twice a day, so he’s best paired with someone who likes to walk a lot (Glen Canyon near their house is amazing!!). Just a note, he can get excited on walks if he sees certain dogs and needs someone strong enough to guide him away from the situation. Other than that, he really is just a little baby in a big body! Nala, their kitty, is very confident and silly. She hopped into bed with us on the first night and slept curled up like a little ball - no fear at all! She’s got heaps of energy and is very curious to know what everyone is up to at all times. She is so tiny but has a huge personality! We loved both of the pets and really appreciate how kind and easy going Emma and Gabe were. We highly recommend them if you’re heading to SF!
Lucida and Jonathon are really friendly and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Prior to the sit we spoke on the phone and then a week before we had a web chat. Before they left we had a very good handover for the house and routine. Their home is absolutely lovely with fantastic views and lots of walking available from the front door. There are a plethora of places to drive to to take Pluto for a walk too, there is even a walk straight off Haselmere High Street. We perhaps should have packed our wellies as well as our walking boots as we did struggle on some walks due to the amount of mud, but there had been a lot of rain and is was the end of winter too. Pluto their cocker spaniel is so adorable, such a sweet dog, he loved his cuddles and attention and was fun to take out for walks. He definitely prefers to be off a lead than on, as he could pull on his lead at times. He has a lovely personality and is a calm laid back springer, we enjoyed playing games in the garden and we could have quite simply taken him home with us. We totally enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it.
Oliver is such a darling! We had such a great time taking him for his morning walks with his favourite neighbours. He was great off leash and has everyone wrapped around his cute little paws (including us!) The local area is so lovely- lots of great nature to explore! Maryse & Brian have a beautiful home and were very accomodating. Cali knew what she needed and was easy to care for.
