I had such a delightful experience taking care of Luna and Mimi. They are truly adorable cats, and I already miss their sweet presence. While they were a bit shy at first, giving them time to adjust was so rewarding as they became more comfortable and affectionate. Laurel-Lea and Gil were incredibly thoughtful and hospitable, ensuring everything was prepared for a comfortable stay. Their home is warm, cozy, immaculate, and equipped with everything you could need. We went on my first day through the house and they both explained me everything needed for the pet sit. I came one day before the sit started and left one day after the sit ended. I guess this was a very smooth change for the cats. While Laurel-Lea and Gil were on vacation we kept in contact every day. The surrounding area offers plenty of attractions, including walks and swimming activities. For me, it was a lovely stay! I wholeheartedly recommend this pet sit, especially for the chance to meet Luna and Mimi, who are sure to steal your heart! :)
What a wonderful opportunity to spend time in Napa. The location, as described, is ideal; the peace and quiet of a vineyard but moments away from the lovely town of St. Helena. The farmhouse is rustic and comfortable, as it should be. As this is a working vineyard, there is quite a bit of activity with workers etc, though I'm pretty sure this was a particularly busy time of year. It made the peace of the evenings and Sundays even more appreciable. As Chauncey and Chester are seniors, and blind, I definitely felt I needed to be their seeing eye dogs while they were out. It took me a while to relax about them, but they do seem to know their way about. They are sweet old souls who don't ask for much (except treats ; )) Connie is relaxed and easy to deal with. All in all this is a special sit. Bring your bikes!
Tucker was a real delight the whole time we were together. He's well behaved and not fussy at all so he was very easy to take care of. He was a good companion during the day while we were working or watching tv, and he was a great sleeper at night too. He's so cheerful, friendly and good tempered we would happily look after him for a longer sit. Cliff and Katie's condo is right in the heart of Vancouver which has a lot of great spots nearby for walking Tucker, getting coffee, having a meal or doing other errands. The condo itself was spacious for the two of us, the bed was comfy and they left it very clean. Communication and working out logistics was easy too. We would happily look after Tucker again!
I loved this experience and greatly enjoyed my time with Bert and Pippa. It was a lovely place to stay, I had my days filled with walks through the vineyards down to the lake, and Amanda and Andrew were both communicative and made me feel welcome. They even picked me up from the airport! Would highly recommend a sit in this amazing place.
Cathy and Walter were so kind and easy to reach throughout my stay. Their home is filled with so much art/ love and they prepared it so nicely for a comfortable stay! I had the best time in beautiful Mount Vernon/ spending time with Maisie and Aretha—who were absolutely perfect to sit for. I fell in love with them so quickly, and couldn’t get enough of how sweet and intelligent the both of them are! Maisie and I particularly had a great time hiking the Cascades and exploring all the parks together. I 100% recommend and hope to visit or sit for Cathy and Walter again soon!
We absolutely loved looking after Sonny and Kaia. Karin's home was a beautifully decorated cottage by the sea in the stunning Coromandel. It was extremely neat and tidy, and you could tell there was so much love and thought (and great taste) poured into her home. Sonny and Kaia were the best!! We grew so fond of them so quickly, and after a couple of days, attuned to their habits and personalities. They are completely charming, a hilarious pair that behave exactly like siblings. We had so much fun, and they are such lovely, affectionate dogs who really demand as many cuddles as they can get from you! Sonny is one of the smartest dogs out there. He absolutely loves humans, and is especially observant of you. It does take a couple of days for him to adjust and not to get tangled up in his lead. But once he adjusts, he is so wonderfully lovely. There was even one afternoon when I was feeling unwell and laid on the couch, and he brought me a biscuit and laid it on the sofa by my head! Kaia is a delight, she trots around with her little legs and silky long fur and constantly wants to be petted and held. She guards her treats which was amusing to watch as long as you didn't accidentally step on a biscuit! She loves to look up at you with a wagging tail, and when you brush her, she pretty much melts into the ground with happiness. Karin was really nice and very easy to communicate with. It felt relaxed and easy to talk to her. The instructions left were organised, detailed and in some really nice handwriting. She has so much love for her pets and her home, and after spending 3 weeks in the cottage with Sonny and Kaia, we absolutely understood why. We really really miss the both of them, it was an especially tough goodbye for us after we had grown so fond of them. It's been a couple of days and we're still talking about the both of them. We'd very happily come back to sit for Karin again! P.S. She recommended coffee from the cafe down the road as some of the best in NZ, and she is 100% spot on correct. It is some of the best coffee we've had in the world.
