We had a very nice stay at Katrins place in the suburbs of Berlin. The house is comfortable and equipped with everything one might need, including various travel guides through the city. The area is good to explore nature of Brandenburg or Botanical Garden. Getting to the city center is pretty convenient too. Karlchen and Millie, two sweet independent cats, spent most of the day outside. It was very easy to take care of them. In the evenings they came for occasional cuddles:)
Heather and Stu are fabulous to deal with, they provided regular communication and left nice clear, helpful instructions for taking care of Spud and Lollipop as well as advice on local adventures. A wonderful house in a beautiful part of the world with lots to offer. The kittens are gorgeous and fun. This was a great housesitting experience.
It was an absolute treat to look after Joey and Sammy! Andrew's furry family gave us lots of love which we gladly returned each day of our sit. Sammy is a very low maintenance older cat who simply loves to cuddle (and sometimes sleep with you. ) Joey is an adorable 1 1/2 year-old cockapoo who loves to cuddle and fetch his duck. We quickly discovered that Joey fancies himself a lap dog although he's a larger lap dog. Be forewarned: Joey is irresistibly cute and impossible to say no to. Joey is a puppy still and likes to bark at things like the neighbor's getting deliveries and such. Nothing too bothersome, puppies simply have certain tendencies that work themselves out over time. Andy's apartment in Bay Ridge is very large and comfortable! There is a park directly across from his building where Joey likes to walk to and fetch the ball if the weather's agreeable. Joey also meets up with some other canine friends to socialize in the evening. We walked Joey all over the neighborhood and explored some other nearby parks. There is also an amazing promenade close by to explore with incredible views of the Verrazano Bridge, Staten Island, the Statue of Liberty, and downtown Manhattan. There are a few bus lines located right outside his building and a water taxi located at the pier a few minutes away. Andy's building is filled with friends and neighbors who would introduce themselves regularly and offer their assistance should we need anything. The building is in a very quiet, residential area of Brooklyn. Overall, the Bay Ridge community is filled with friendly folks who would want to strike up random conversations or simply tell you how cute Joey is...which of course we wholeheartedly agreed with! There are also plenty of restaurants and shops located a short ten-minute walk away. Andy was very easy to communicate with before and during the sit. He left specific instructions regarding feeding Joey and Sammy. We communicated with Andy regularly via email despite the fact that he was traveling throughout South Africa. We would without a doubt recommend this sit and would do it ourselves again in a New York minute! -Mairin & Todd-
Alison and John's home in France is the most ideal and perfect getaway. Close enough to town and a bakery that you don't feel too isolated but definitely quiet enough to feel like you're in a country fairytale. We thoroughly enjoyed our time looking after the 3 cats and 3 horses. From the moment they picked us up from the Train station we felt incredibly welcomed. We were greeted with a delicious dinner prepared by Alison, great stories from the both of them, an introduction to a friendly neighbor/emergency contact and all of the information we could need. The next day they kindly took us grocery shopping and helped show us the best paths for running, biking, and a must visit bakery that is just a short walk away! The house is super cozy with a great den/living room that has a wood burner(John kindly left plenty of chopped logs) our guest bedroom was spacious with two beds, the kitchen has all the modern amenities you might want and very well equipped. The bathrooms were clean with a great shower, and the home office was such a nice feature if anyone like we were is doing remote work. The yard and lot they have is massive, more space than you would ever need but definitely was nice to have and gave a great feeling of privacy. The animals are super loving and easy. Cats were low maintenance and we fell in love. They come and go as they please but would all curl up with us in the living room once we had a fire going at night. Horses were also low maintenance, keep them fed and they stay happy. Bailey the big guy needs to be bossed around or he'll try to eat the others food but he was super friendly and listened pretty well. Other: - fast and reliable wifi - have a car or be comfortable walking/biking -train into chateauroux is easy from paris -Tons of running and biking trails, beautiful area -The town of Le blanc is super cute and has a farmers market, grocery stores, seriously anything you would need -the nearby bakery is amazing Overall this is a great couple and house to sit for and we would do it again if given the opportunity. You will really enjoy your time.
I had a wonderful stay at Megan’s beautiful apartment with lovely Floyd! Floyd is full of character, super friendly and very affectionate. The view from Megan’s apartment is stunning and it’s also in a perfect location. Megan is a great host, very communicative and hospitable. I highly recommend this sit!
