We absolutely loved our stay with Tanya's furry family. We only just left, and miss them already! Gracie and Calypso were the sweetest. Calypso follows you around with her piggy stuffed animal. She likes to walk between your legs and playfully "snaps" at you when she wants attention and to go out. She is easy on/off the lead in the vineyards. Gracie has the sweetest Dobby-like expressions; she'll be on her bed or next to you on the couch and then prances around eagerly, ready for a walk. Mario stole the show every mealtime! He LOVES food, and we had to take turns holding him to keep him from stealing food. But in between meals, he would crawl up onto our laps for bath/naptime. Voodoo was a quiet presence and happily curled up on the couch for naps as well. The chickens were easy to care for and provided 2 eggs a day! It was amazing how all the animals got along so well. The full gang was constant entertainment, and we were never bored. Besides the animals, the house was beautiful, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing for a holiday away. The local village had a nice restaurant and a local vineyard from the 1300s for wine tasting. Being within walking distance of the train station made it for an easy afternoon trip into Geneva, although we were more than happy to just stay in the garden.
This was our first sit since we moved to Europe and the first after a 1.5 year hiatus to complete our move. We had no idea how much we missed having a kitty. After meeting with Lili and Juan on a video chat, we arrived a day early to join them for a lovely tea and to meet Lola and go over her needs. They were very warm, friendly, and welcoming and Lola investigated us thoroughly. Lili and Juan live in a clean, comfortable apartment in Clichy, a quick, easy Metro ride from downtown Paris. It is just outside the 17th arrondissement and is a nice walk to Parc Clichy Batignolles and Montmartre. There is much to explore and we enjoyed discovering the area. Lili and Juan gave excellent suggestions for visiting hidden gems in the area. They loaned us a scavenger hunt book to add additional fun to our visit. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts. For this being their first sit experience, Lili had the best instructions! We love details. Cats like routines and it helps us to know as much as possible to provide the most comforting care. We really appreciated how easy it was to keep in communication. Lili is incredibly responsive. She even left chocolates on the pillows! Lola is an adorable little fluff-ball of energy who kept us laughing the entire time. It is a treat to care for a cat that loves to play and interact. From the moment we entered the apartment, she was there to greet us. She helped us unpack and investigated absolutely everything. She never tired of playing. As long as we would play, so would she, but if we needed a break, she would continue to play by herself and amuse us to no end. She is incredibly smart and could solve little puzzles we created for her. She even likes playing hide and seek! Watching her play with her tunnel had us practically rolling on the floor laughing. Although she is not a lap cat, she is a proximity cat and liked being around us, and we loved being around her. At her parents’ request, she is not allowed in the bedroom at night and she accepted this just fine. As soon as we opened the door in the morning, she was on the bed and ready to play. What a great start to a day! Lola has a feeding schedule that Lili and Juan modified to accommodate our schedule. They instructed us how to use the auto-feeder for times when we would be exploring Paris. We never left Lola alone for more than 5 or 6 hours and this was our choice. We loved being with her. We hope we will always be available when Lola needs a sitter. If we aren’t, this is a perfect sit, from the caring hosts, to the great apartment and location, and of course adorable Lola.
Sora and Henri were amazing! Henri is such a chill guy who you will instantly fall in love with. He was such a cuddler too! Thank you to Sora for being kind, generous, and organized-giving me very detailed help and instructions for taking care of Henri.
