Well what a story this housesit has been. I arrived in Mandurah on the 5th March to begin my sit with Graham and Di for what was to be a five week sit, and as at 25 May I am still here! Many things went wrong for these poor guys, starting with cancellation of their overseas cruise and Italian holiday, ending with crossing the Nullabor to drive to Queensland instead, only to have to turn around immediately and drive all the way back over the Nullabor! Now for anyone in Australia, we all know what a trip that is, it certainly isn't a days drive! The dreaded Covid-19 closed the borders and not only could they not continue their trip to Queensland, I couldn't return home to Queensland OR continue my long planned overseas housesitting dreams. But being the wonderful people they are, Graham and Di insisted on my staying in their motorhome for as long as I needed to, and nearly 3 months later, here I am, still. But oh I couldn't be any happier or be more blessed than I am to have met such wonderful people. Graham and Di have a beautiful home overlooking the golf course and Coco their Labradoodle is simply amazing. In all the time I have spent here, Coco has been my constant companion and has made being isolated so tolerable. She is the most beautiful doggie and I am going to miss her so very much. I looked forward to my "Coco cuddles" every day and we spent many days on the beach together, she really was a wonderful companion. I am going to miss her so very much. So, this housesit has been one amazing experience, one I will never forget. But importantly, I have made two wonderful friends in Graham and Di and look forward to catching up with them again when we all eventually live in the same State. These are two beautiful human beings who would do anything for anyone and I have been so very blessed to now count them as my friends. I will miss our dinners together, I will miss it all. Thank you guys for EVERYTHING, thank you just doesn't seem enough. If anyone ever has the opportunity to sit for these two, don't hesitate - your life will be so much richer for having met them. xx
Arriving atop the hill wherein nestled The Narth was the only big challenge of this sit and completely of my own making as I was on a bicycle. The communication with Chris in the run up to the sit was transparent and the tail wagging pair of Frank and Bruno were a delight to look after.
Ruby is such a well-behaved dog and was a pleasure to take care of. She did great on her walks and followed commands pretty consistently. Kate was a very welcoming host who took the time to meet with me the day before she left to show me around her apartment and let me meet Ruby. She even gave me a welcome gift! The apartment is nice and cozy and definitely helped me get in shape for all the walking in Berlin with the four flights of stairs to walk up and down each day ;) It is in a well-connected location with a bus and tram station across the street and both an U-Bahn and S-Bahn station within a short walking distance. There are many grocery stores and restaurants nearby as well. Would highly recommend this sit!
Very cozy, clean flat within walking distance to transport, parks and shops. Louise was very responsive, kind and easy going. She assured I was comfortable and familiar with everything required and expected. Very welcoming. Cookie is just a doll baby! Very sweet and social. She is easy to love and has a heart melting little meow! Just lovely.
We had such a wonderful stay at Lauren and Wyatt’s place! They were great and attentive hosts, making sure we felt welcomed and had everything we needed for our time there. The house was in a perfect location, surrounded by lovely parks and close to transport lines for easy access into central London. Louis was the coolest cat we have ever met! Such a character. He enjoyed playing with us and was so inquisitive. We really bonded with him and are sad to be leaving. We hope to be back again soon! Overall, would not hesitate to recommend this stay to any other pet sitters. Thanks so much again, Lauren and Wyatt!
Carine's place is super nice and very close to everything. She is super kind and helpful as well.
