I met Suzanne beforehand and we clicked straightaway. She made sure that I had everything for a comfortable sit. She was responsive to any queries that I had and remained in contact during the sit. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful and there are endless public footpaths in the fields surrounding the house. There are many gorgeous and interesting places to visit within 30 minutes of the house. Ginny and Smartie are very cute and were lovely companions. We enjoyed many walks together and they sat with me in the evenings while I watched tv. They are very quiet except when the postman visits. I highly recommend this sit particularly if you love the English countryside and enjoy visiting historic and beautiful places.
We were lucky enough to get to stay at Ingrid & Rog's beautiful home in Oakham, England, at exactly the perfect time of the year. Spring just started bursting out and for two weeks we got to see this beautiful part of the country come alive in color. And we got to do it in a lovely house with an adorable, sweet, friendly cat named Millie. From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel like welcomed gusts. Ingrid made us a lovely dinner and we got the rundown of the house. Everything is extremely well laid out, super easy, and so very comfortable! We'd love to come back any time and highly recommend this sit.
Lori and Matt have a beautiful home in an amazing neighborhood. I had every comfort and enjoyed the beauty of their property as it is right on the lake. They have an invisible fence for the dogs so the dogs are free to meander around and play on the lawn with out fear that any of them would wander off. If I wanted to be outside but keep the dogs with me I kept them in the covered pool area so we could enjoy the sunshine together. These dogs are well behaved and very loved. They are all snugglers and came to me individually for belly rubs and pets. They are big dogs so I walked them individually instead of together and I was very comfortable with that as they are all used to the prong leashes and did not pull or chase after anyone or any critters we saw along they way. They were so happy and proud to be on their walk. Each one is well trained and Matt and Lori have put in the time and effort to make sure the dogs behave appropriately. Lori sent me videos of the dogs play behaviour and meal time routine so I would know exactly what to expect and what was normal activity for them. That was very helpful to understanding how to control the group in each situation and they could not have been more accepting of me and loving the entire time I was there. I really miss them all. This is a great sit in a beautiful place with the sweetest of dogs. Thank you for choosing me.
We had the pleasure of staying with Oatmeal, AKA Oatie, at the lakeside cabin for just one night - we were hardly ready to leave! From first connecting with Kat and Caro over Skype, their easy-going, generous, and caring personalities shone through. Not only were they easy to chat with, but they also communicated Oatie's needs and mannerisms well. They have a top-notch pup, house, and activities manual that highlights Oatie's quirks, beautiful house features like the speakers and outdoor firepits, and nearby activities. Oatmeal is the goodest snuggle pot with the softest fur. We had such a nice time together pouncing around on walks, paddling boarding on the lake, and watching Oatie pick the most peculiar napping spots. We relaxed too with their mesmerizing sand coffee table, weighted blanket, and heated outdoor shower. I hope our paths cross again!
We had best time sitting for Carrie. The four dogs were very friendly and got on so well together. We enjoyed lots of beautiful walks in the fields surrounding the house and evenings snuggled up on the sofa in front of the fire - the dogs were more than happy to snooze on or beside us there straight after dinner. Kiki was beautiful and loved plenty of attention and cuddles herself. Again she was no trouble at all and was as good as gold. We took a trip to Saffron Waldon for lunch one afternoon - the bus stop is a 5 min walk from the house which was a lovely place for a wander round and a cosy glass of wine. Carrie was very helpful beforehand organising the sit and the house is just beautiful - very comfortable, location was perfect - we couldn’t have asked for any more! We were missing the gang within a couple of hours of leaving after only 3 days of time with them. We highly recommend this sit :)
Shari and Evan were very hospitable. making sure I am all set prior to the sit. It was so sweet of them to even ask what kind of food I'd like! Riley and Reggie were sweethearts! I couldn't get over Riley's cute underbite and Reggie sleeping with his ear covering his eye. They are very loving and have a bit of separation anxiety, so please be mindful of your timing away from them. This sit worked out great for us as I work remotely and was able to be home most of the time. If you're heading out somewhere, it's nice to bring them along in the car with you. This allowed us to enjoy some wonderful hikes together, such as Great Falls & Seneca Regional Park. The home area itself is very nice & has some trails and a supermarket shopping area nearby. You'll have access to the house & your own suite in the basement that has everything one needs - it's own bathroom and TV. In the wintertime, allot time for the space heater to warm up, there are plenty of blankies to help keep you comfortable. Shari and Evan were very easy to reach even while out of the country so I felt supported if I needed anything. Overall, it's a great sit and I'd be back for more! :)
