Rosie
Our sit in Cirencester was just too short. The dogs, Monty, Minnie and Maisie were delightful companions and walking buddies. They were attentive and good snuggle puppies. Rosie was great with communication and all the little jobs were easy to follow in the very detailed sitters guide.

The house was clean and tidy with staff to tend the garden and cleaning a few times a week. There are many little beautiful villages to visit in the Cotswolds with a few pubs to dine in locally. The garden was just beautiful and we would definitely sit again.

I had a really love stay at Claire's taking care of Joey and George. They are both incredibly sweet dogs and easy to look after. They love nothing more than to sit by your feet if you're hanging out reading or watching TV on the couch.

Claire was a great host and very easy to communicate with. She always responsed quickly if I had any questions during the sit. Her home is very tidy and I loved being able to sit out in the backyard to enjoy the last of the summer sunshine.

Herrliberg is a small town but there are a couple of grocery stores, bakeries, and a pharmacy within walking distance from the home. Her home is also within walking distance of the train station that takes you to Zurich in about 20 minutes or to the airport in 30 minutes.

I would happily housesit for Claire again!

Anke
Anke and Dave met us at the airport, which was a blessing, as we did not get the rental car we had booked for lack of an international drivers license. They took us home, fed us and let us sleep off our jet lag.
They had invited us to come a few days prior to their trip. Not only did this give us ample time for orientation, it was also good for the three year old Golden Retrievers, Ari and Aila, to get to know us before their masters left.
Anke and Dave were great hosts! They assisted us in solving the rental car issue, showed us where to shop for groceries, had a BBQ with us and a camp fire. They even took the time to take a 5-hour trip with us into the White Mountains.
We instantly felt at home in their beautiful house, they made us feel at home.
After Anke and Dave had left, we took the dogs‘ beds into our bedroom, as they are used to sleep with people. This worked out quite well, they were not anxious at night. However, if you like to sleep in, let the dogs know, as they are early risers.
Aila and Ari are siblings, with Aila being the more lively one and ever so jealous of Ari. So make sure you divide your attention evenly between the two of them. They are affectionate, well trained and listen to your commands.
When Anke and Dave are at home, the dogs are used to run unleashed for miles. Since we could not risk letting them off the leash, we took two walks a day in the forested loop starting at their house. Alternatively we rode with them to Twin Bears Lake, off Chena Hot Springs Road, and walked them there.
Fairbanks has a lot to offer, even during the transition time between winter and summer schedules. Before you do anything else, visit the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center on Dunkel Street which gives you an excellent introduction to the region, its history and culture. Although we normally don‘t visit museums, we highly recommend the Museum of the North at UAF and the Community and Dog Mushing Museum on 2nd Street. The Tanana Valley Farmers Market on College Road (Wed and Sat May-Sept) is great for arts and crafts, honey, bread, food stalls and such, although in May no veggies are available yet. Drive the Richardson Highway to Delta Junction and even further towards the Alaska Range – great scenery and the best view points to see the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Last but not least, take the 23 mile ride up to the Chena Hot Springs and soak in the hot mineral waters. If you‘re not up to sightseeing, just enjoy up to 24 hours of daylight.
Many thanks to Anke and Dave to make all these things possible for us by choosing us as sitters. Your warm welcome and your support is much appreciated. We truly hope to come back for the Aurora season.
After having said all of the above, it‘s almost needless to say that this 5-star sit is highly recommended.

Susie is very friendly and made us feel welcome in her lovely, comfortable home. Jonah is such an easy cat to care for, spending most of his time outdoors. Fortunately he did grace us with his presence occasionally and is cute and friendly!
We enjoyed great days out in this beautiful part of the country. We'd gladly sit for Susie and Jonah again should the opportunity arise.

You’ve heard of French and Saunders, Morecambe and Wise. Now meet a new comedy duo - Lighthouse and Atchoum!
We arrived at Barley Barn during Storm Gerritt which was closely followed by Storm Henk and some serious flooding in the area. Did this negatively impact our sit? Not in the slightest. Armed with wellies and waterproofs, (us) the guys (them) were always up for a walk, morning and afternoon, rain or rain! They were so patient with the constant hosing down and washing of muddy paws.
They were such fun and great company for the week. Atchoum, small in size, huge in personality, loved sofa snuggles. Lighthouse, the gentle elder who greeted us with his excited ‘waggle dance’ each morning and when walks were mentioned. They walked well on a lead but give them the scent of a squirrel or a whiff of something woolly and they became super excitable!
Rachel was a friendly host. It was great to meet her for a quick tour and intros before she headed off. Thank you for accommodating my teapot request!
Rachel’s home is large and comfortable with a great outdoor dining area in a sheltered, private garden. Barley Barn is in a lovely rural location – a peaceful spot from where we enjoyed our walks straight from the front door (and a couple of wet bike rides without the guys).
A sit to remember! Thankyou!

We had a wonderful sit at Virginia’s beautiful and eclectic home! The apartment is so bright and comfortable, and so much to do close by! Boo was an absolute pleasure to spend time with and talk on his daily walks down to the park, and Beanie & Poppy were as sweet as can be. Super easy and laid back group of fur babies, would definitely recommend sitting for them!
