We have been boarding our fur baby at Pawington for a couple of years now and they never disappoint. Everyone is so friendly and they seem to genuinely care about your dog when they stay here. One time on the camera while we were on vacation, we saw one of the employees giving our dog a hug before she went to bed. More recently, we saw on the camera that they had even tucked her into her blanket. It's the little things like this that gives you peace of mind when you leave your fur baby in their care. Thank you for always taking such good care of our baby when we're away.
I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received at Pawington! I was a bit anxious initially, having seen some boarding places in the Bay Area that were not up to standard. But Pawington exceeded my expectations, allowing me to relax and enjoy my trip. My dog came back happy and wagging. A huge thank you to Carolina for the exceptional care—she checked us in smoothly, spent time playing with my dog, paid special attention to his meals, kept me updated, and even gave him a bath on short notice. Pawington’s attention to detail and genuine care for my dog gave me total peace of mind. Highly recommend!
If you care about your dog, stay away from this place! They mistreated my dog, tying him up throughout the 3-day boarding period. It's unbelievable that my dog ingested a 14-inch leash while in their care, and I wouldn't have been aware if he hadn't vomited it the day after we retrieved him from this terrible experience! Adding insult to injury, when I contacted the business, they vanished! We chose Pawington based on positive Google reviews, despite the higher cost. We consider our dog a part of the family and are willing to pay more for quality care. However, these individuals exploited our love for pets and failed to gain our trust. We boarded our dog here during the Martin Luther King Jr. weekend. On the second day of boarding, they informed us that our dog tried to escape due to separation anxiety and requested our consent to administer sedatives for better management. Although we agreed, knowing our dog occasionally experiences anxiety from separation, two days later, when we picked up our dog, its condition was simply terrible! On the second morning after bringing our dog home, I discovered that the dog was continuously vomiting. We consulted the vet, who suggested it might be due to mental and appetite disruptions from being away from the owner. However, when the dog vomited out a 14-inch leash from its stomach, we could hardly believe it. It was much worse than we had imagined. And the most frightening part is that the boarding company has been silent about what happened! They actually attempted to cover up the truth. We contacted the pawtington immediately, but their response was disappointing. They insisted Oreo was fine and just trying to escape. Despite showing them the evidence of the 14-inch leash our dog vomited, they refused to acknowledge it, citing a rule against tying up dogs. I questioned their explanation, and they gave evasive answers, claiming no one reported such incidents. I have too many questions, but due to the business constantly covering up the facts, I couldn't get a reasonable explanation. I suspect that when our dog experienced separation anxiety, they not only gave Oreo a tranquilizer but also tied it up with a leash to prevent escape. Our dog never eats randomly, and it's unlikely it ingested the leash in a secure environment. The only explanation is they tied up our dog for a long time, causing it to attempt escape and accidentally ingest the leash. They claimed not to find any evidence of our dog swallowing the leash. However, if their staff checked the remaining pieces diligently, they would have discovered damage or even a missing 14-inch segment. Yet, they said they found nothing unusual. They tried to blame us, stating our dog attempted to escape and damaged two doors. The truth is they only called us to ask if we could give it tranquilizers. If I had known they would mistreat our dog during boarding, I would have preferred buying a plane ticket to bring it home instead of leaving it there! I expressed my concerns to the responsible manager and requested them to cover the expenses for our dog's examination. The manager promised to report to the owner but couldn't guarantee reimbursement. Despite their emphasis on caring for our dog, a week has passed without any follow-up, solutions, or even a message expressing concern. I love Oreo deeply and have been a loyal customer of Pawington. This week has been an extremely painful and shocking time for me. We chose Pawington attracted by their positive reviews on Google, despite their higher fees compared to other boarding services. We were drawn in by their advertising, believing that Oreo would continue to receive love even in our absence. However, they took advantage of our love for pets and trust in them to engage in the mistreatment of dogs. I am heartbroken and furious about this treatment. I am still waiting for a response from you and hope other dog parents do not choose to leave their dogs here!!
I am just going to list 4 simple FACTS about our experiences with The Pawington (I have all the evidence): 1. My dog vomitted 14+inch leash after coming back from them. It looks very similar to what they'd use to leash the dog. 2. The dog looked lethargic and was experiencing diarrhea too. 3. The management team said they care about the dog and they'd get back to us ASAP. But unfortunately, we have not received any further communication from them for a week. 4. We then wrote a negative google review and surprisedly they showed up in 10 min and accused their customer of lying about their experiences. Beyond heartbreak and anger, what would you do if you were in our position?
Phenomenal place. Visually, the place is spotless. Smells pretty clean given the number of dogs that are there anytime of the day. I drop off my 7 month old lab puppy occasionally and I like to check in on her on the web cams as she is still not socialized around other dogs, so her interactions with other dogs are of a concern for me. Well, I can verify that she's actually having a pretty good time! She stays in a large space surrounded by dogs that are her approximate height, weight, and temperament, so she is surrounded by even-tempered snd curious dogs. I paid for a private lake play today, and the handler was so fun for my little girl. The handler was super enthusiastic so my dog was zooming around and in the water, just having the best time. It's so heartwarming to see your precious pup enjoying her time away from her paw-rents and I couldn't be happier or more satisfied customer. Thank you to the lovely and attentive, courteous and friendly staff. Your pup is in great hands!
Old age finally caught up with my dog and sadly, he passed away. I am writing this review because The Pawington was such an integral part of his life. He was a rescue and clearly had been abused by his previous owner. The staff at The Pawington took great care to attend to his psychological needs as well as his physical ones. They made him feel safe, and loved, and for that I will always be grateful. The made his last years remarkable! The opportunities for dogs at The Pawington-- lake play, indoor/outdoor day care, grooming, are wonderful! But of course, it is the people at The Pawington that make it such a special place. My sweet Shakespeare loved them all, and that is saying a lot, given his anxiety. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all at "The Paw" who took care of and loved my precious fur baby. If I could give The Pawington ten stars, I would. Even my vet said that it is the best pet resort in the Bay Area. I agree, wholeheartedly.
I am a new customer and have taken my rescue Frenchie at this place 7 times. The first couple of day care, it was a positive experience for me and my Olivia. She comes home always highly stimulated and happy. Day 4 or 5 of her day care I noticed I don't see her in the webcam often. I was informed that when dogs are too hyperactive they are are removed from the yard for a break or time-out. I agree. Last Tuesday (7/2), one of the hottest days this week, Olivia came home not her usual self. I was told she was put on time out twice because she nipped another dogs ear. I was told the area where she was put is a separate room but is still within the yard with a bucket of water. I don't know what the actual condition was in that room but suffice to say, Olivia came home dazed, lethargic, and not herself. I took her to the vet the next day and although all her vitals are good, the vet believes something must have happened that day because she is in a trauma state. I asked for a full account of what happened but of course the establishment is not going to admit to any wrong doing. The weather temperature was a big factor but in my eyes, they failed to ensure that Olivia was not overheating. I am very disappointed because this place was highly recommended to me. Maybe this is a one off incident but it is a one off incident that happened to MY DOG and that is enough for me to not trust this establishment.
My lab has been boarding and going to day care at Pawington for 8 years. She loves going - at drop off she barks at the front desk waiting for someone to take her back to one of the well supervised play areas. The staff is very sweet and responsive. They are also excellent with their email communications. I always feel confident that my pup is safe and well cared for when she’s at Pawington.
I highly recommend The Pawington to any cat owner in the Bay Area looking for a place to board their cat. I had to travel for most of the last few months and after touring multiple places I decided to go here based on their great facility and friendly staff. After my cat Cosmo stayed there for week, I knew this would be my go-to place while I was out of town. Cosmo stayed there for a total of ~60 days and I'd say she is probably a VIP guest at this point lol. Yes the Pawington cat suites are quite expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff took great care of Cosmo and constantly sent me pictures and called me with updates. Cosmo loved the room, it was very spacious and had a 24/7 webcam that is good streaming quality. The front office was flexible when I needed to change plans or extend her stay. I am super thankful for The Pawington staff who spoiled my cat while I had to travel. Every staff member I interacted with here was top-notch.
I needed boarding for my 6 month old pup, and I boarded him at the Pawington, which was recommended by my dog trainer. My pup had a great experience, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was a fair amount of paperwork to submit and you have to schedule a temperament test for the dog before you can board there, but I think that's commonplace at all boarding facilities. It was reassuring to be able to check on my pup with the webcams, both in his suite at night and in the common play areas during the day.
we used Adele a few times for our cat and we had never been disappointed, always serious sending each day an email with a picture reassuring us. She is very reliable and prices are more than correct for all she can do while you are away (also mail, plants, trash bins)
Incredibly responsive and helpful via email, very professional initial contact, all the relevant information and forms provided upfront, and proactive in helping me work out compromises and suggesting alternative services to contact when schedules didn't line up. Really appreciate that the focus was on working together to find the best solution.
Adele is fantastic! She loves what she does, and is very experienced. Great all around provider.
