Josie
Josie and Andy had excellent communication and were extremely warm and welcoming from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed staying in their beautiful home and looking after River who had a very gentle nature and was a breeze to take care of. We didn’t manage to coax her out for a walk but she seemed very happy lazing by our sides on the sofa and running around the garden. Would highly recommend this house sit!

Amanda
Amanda was very helpful in providing a recommendation for a place to stay as well as in describing the sit.

Her dogs Bert and Pippa were delightful and low maintenance, and the accommodations were perfect for cooking and working from home.

I highly recommend this sit as it is near activities such as cherry picking, the beach, and allows for lovely walks through the vineyards.

We thoroughly enjoyed this sit and we hope to sit for Amanda and the dogs again!

Julie
Julie & John provided us with all the information and guidance we needed for a successful house/pet sit.
We enjoyed a lovely meal cooked by Julie the evening before they left for their vacation, getting to know each other. Julie was contactable for any queries and liked to get an update.
The house is unique and set in 12.5 acres of land. in a semi remote location. Pusscat, Willow & Pepper soon had us under their 🐾’s
The chickens provided fresh eggs daily in return for treats and company.
Looking forward to being invited back, definitely recommend

I had a lovely time looking after Walter, George and Ollie - they are very sweet dogs and were excellent company. Alison and Nick were so welcoming and kind and it was always very easy to communicate with Alison before and during the sit. The house is lovely and I was more than comfortable during my stay. Many thanks!

Chickens, Guinea Fowls, Turkeys and Peacocks, oh my! Not to mention two adorable dogs, Olivia Rose and Maple Jane, along with three cats. I wanted to take them all home with me. All on 8 acres of quiet beauty and serenity.

I spent 5 days at the Betty Crocker Estate and was in awe of the fantastic home that had been completely restored by Ben and Marlise. WOW! They are a power couple and not sure how they do it all, but they sure seem to pull it off. Harold runs the Barn and antique shows that are held once a month and if you love antiques, you'll be blown away by what's inside...and outside!

The responsibilities of taking care of the birds and animals was no small feat, but after the first couple of days, I was comfortable with the process and schedule and felt like "Farmer Mom" as my son called me after I shared the experience with him. There were 16 chickens, 14 Guineafowl, 10 turkeys, 13 peacocks, 2 dogs and 3 cats, so yes, I'll own the title of Farmer Mom!

It was really an amazing opportunity and education for me as I've never been that close to turkeys, guinea fowl and peacocks. There were 5 baby turkeys and they certainly had a way of making me laugh...and keeping life simple.

I encourage all who have the slightest attraction to this pet-sit job to apply for this very unique experience. I don't believe there's another one like it on THS. And if you do, be sure to bring a pair of shoes you don't mind getting quite dirty and "poopy", along with clothing that you'll need for the coop jobs!

Sharon
An extremely relaxing and enjoyable sit with two affectionate lovable dogs in a quiet Somerset village. From the moment we met Sharon & Ken it was like visiting old friends we had not seen for many years. Such a wonderful, generous and delightful couple who adore their precious Sparks & Bonnie. We laughed, we joked and we’ve certainly made new friends in Sparkford.

Their lovely home is situated in rural Somerset with lots of accessible fields for lengthy dog walks literally across the road. Just a short drive from several nearby towns means easy access to shops and restaurants and some local places of interest such as the Haynes International Motor Museum. Sparks & Bonnie love their walks almost as much as cuddles, they are both lovable bundles of joy and we miss them already.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Sparks & Bonnie and it was so nice to relax in Sharon & Ken’s beautiful home, we would have no hesitation in going back – thank you guys and hope to see you again soon.
