I had the absolute BEST time staying at Jacob’s and Christina’s place in the Navy Yard / DC and caring for Khaos. Jacob and Christina are two of the warmest—and most well-prepared for pet-sitting!—people you would ever have the pleasure of meeting. And spending any amount of time with Khaos will bring a smile to your heart. She is an absolute lovebug—so sweet and mild-mannered. Bring her celery, and she will be your buddy forever. The apartment is modern, well-appointed, and has a ton of great amenities. And the number of amazing restaurants, coffee shops, and activities nearby is sheerly overwhelming. I would jump at the chance to house-sit and pet-sit again!

Linda and Jeff are a shining example of gracious hosts! The list of ways they made us feel welcomed and readied the house is long. To share a few; Linda picked us up from the ferry while Jeff prepared us a delicious welcome meal of salmon and crab cakes, the house was very clean and organized with welcome guide printed, Linda thoughtfully asked ahead if we preferred flannel or regular sheets, refrigerator was cleaned with space available for our groceries, allowed us use of their vehicle and also allowed for my adult daughter to accompany me on the sit. Even had all the animals nails trimmed! The cat room is well stocked and organized making meal times and litter box clean up simple. Kona's kibble add on's were pre portioned in freezer. Linda really has thought of everything to simplify chores so there's more time for play and snuggles. Linda's experience as a previous professional housesitter shows. Linda and Jeff's home is warm and inviting as they are. With expansive water views and mountains too (when the clouds lifted:). Mornings were enjoyed by the wood burning stove watching the birds feed, eagles sore and cargo ships coming and going. Linda has created a beautiful tropical landscape, would love to see in full bloom. Kitchen is highly organized and has everything you need for cooking. Loved using the salt water hot tub every night. Both beds are very comfortable and the animals alternated who they slept with each night. You will quickly fall in love with Kona, Jenny, Frank, Rainier, Lilly and Woody! This crew will keep you entertained providing companionship, conversations and snuggles. Kona is such a sweet girl, will play fetch tirelessly, joined me on all my forest walks, showed me all her hidden tennis balls in the neighborhood and behaves great on car rides. Frank was so patient with me as I cleaned his eyes daily. Jenny has the sweetest chirp sound when she says hello and likes to snuggle at bedtime. Woody, the youngest, is playful. Rainier, regal and handsome, enjoys lounging by the fire. Lilly, a bit reserved at first, enjoys head scratches while she perches on a cat tree observing the others. My daughter and I had a relaxing time enjoying the views, walking the beaches and forest, exploring nearby towns of Gamble, Port Townsend and Bainbridge Island and checking out the local movie theater in an old firehouse. We found plenty to do in this small, charming community. What a wonderful sit we had for wonderful people, pets and place! We can’t recommend enough!
As we reluctantly drove away, tears streaming down our faces, the bond we formed with the dogs was so strong that we found it hard to say goodbye. Russell and Bev's furry family and their home hold a special place in our hearts. Within minutes of our week-long stay, Scout, Yukon, Chief, and Symba stole our hearts, and we had the time of our lives caring for these precious dogs in the beautiful sanctuary that Russell and Bev have crafted. South Dakota was a delightful surprise for our family, as we had never experienced its charms before. The hospitality we received, along with the exceptional communication and detailed house and pet instructions, were beyond compare. Being at the Hatch residence for that week filled our hearts with pure joy. It truly was an extraordinary gift. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts - our gratitude knows no bounds.
We had a great time at Katherine and John's home and were sad to leave! They made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very at home. Hazel and Jeff are gorgeous companions - very easy and very loving. The location and views are beautiful. Would reccomend and hope to return one day.
Raya is the sweetest dog in the world! She was recently rescued, so she is still warming up to new people and stressful situations. When you first meet her, her behavior is similar to that of a cat: she likes spending time by herself and will only get close to you for treats. After you've spent some days together, she will ask you to play with her and will hang out by your side. CAVEAT: Raya is NOT FOR INEXPERIENCED sitters. She can be incredibly anxious when outside and will do everything in her power to avoid going out. She is also prone to run and pull in all directions during walks because she is desperate to go back inside. Sometimes she will be so stressed that she will not want to go potty. There will be potty accidents inside the apartment.
