5/5 - highly recommend this housesit! Hugo is such a smart, well behaved boy -- he never barks and he listens so well. He likes to spend most of his day outside on the deck (I can't blame him), but won't say no to playtime and/or a hike! He was a low maintenance, lovable companion and I thoroughly enjoyed my week with him. Polly and Charlie are independent and also easy to care for. They are very affectionate when you see them, but most of the time do their own thing. This was my first time caring for chickens, and I'll admit I was a little nervous -- but Brad and Eileen made it a breeze! They walked through everything with me in person and they were always available to answer questions during my sit. It was nice having fresh eggs each day and I'm excited to have added chickens to my resume ;) In terms of the house/location -- if you want to visit the Skagit Valley (and I highly recommend you do), this is THE place to do it. Brad and Eileen's home is cozy and peaceful, but also close to so much-- there is an incredible wildlife refuge a short drive away, a great produce stand (with enormous ice cream cones) nearby, and areas such as La Conner and downtown Mount Vernon are easily accessible. This area has a special place in my heart and I will never tire of the breathtaking views of Mount Baker. Brad and Eileen feel like friends at this point, and I'd happily sit for them again.
Myriam is a great host. Nice place with adorable fur baby. She is communicative and very responsive. Her place has a great view. If schedules align would gladly sit again.
great location, adorable fur baby, and easy going host
I loved this sit. Ember and Ash were absolute sweethearts, and the home was clean, tidy, and peaceful.
I really enjoyed the house and vibe. Benny, Beverly and Pat were simply wonderful and their mama was informative and pleasant. I will definitely come back
Vicki and Branden gave us a warm welcome into their home, and were always easy to reach whenever questions/concerns popped up. While we dealt with some heating issues for a few days (no one's fault), the stay was otherwise very comfortable in their lovely, spacious home. Cuddling on the couch with Moose and Chewy was a true treat; we quickly fell in love with their funny personalities. They are both super loving and sweet! Don't be fooled by Moose's size -- she is a true baby. We would say this sit is best suited for a couple or someone who is physically strong and confident walking large dogs. I walked Chewy with a gentle lead while my husband Aksel walked Moose, and we managed just fine that way. Both dogs easily became over-excited when they saw squirrels, cats, and foxes (and Chewy got activated around certain dogs), so it was important to stay alert and focused on both of them. Both dogs were fine on their own for a few hours at a time (just make sure not to leave things of value within their reach), so we were able to easily transit into the city center and enjoy all that Edinburgh has to offer. Thank you, Vicki and Branden! Aksel and I would both confidently recommend this sit. We miss Moose and Chewy very much already!
