The absolute best pet care service in Boston! I have used Happy Pet Care for cat visits for years now and they deliver first class service every single time. They took dedicated time to understand my cat's personality and needs before their first visit and I love that I get pictures of him and updates for each visit. Each time I come home I can tell he was very loved and had lots of play time. I truly can't recommend this service enough and am incredibly grateful for them all!

Happy pet care took care of my cats while I went away for a few days. Mary was very quick at communicating and setting things up smoothly and efficiently. The cat sitters were great, giving me daily reports with pictures which made me feel confident they were very well taken care of. I came back to kitties that were happy and healthy. When I lived in Fenway I used to use Rover for all my pet sitting needs. But it was a pricy service and I had to do a lot of research and vetting when choosing someone who would look after our small dog. I moved to Brighton during the pandemic and have since relied on Happy Pet Care for all our walking and sitting needs. Mary, the owner is extremely good at communicating. She is quick to schedule us in even the night before (so sorry Mary). We set up autopay so I don't have to worry about the hassle and with fixed rates every time I know exactly what the cost will be upfront as opposed to Rover which can charge me different rates depending on who is working. Happy Pet Care did increase their prices during the end of the pandemic to adjust for the rise in cost of living. I appreciated the transparency about the cost increase and the sensitivity with which it was communicated to me. I would also like to personally recommend Debra, who has cared for our dog multiple times. I feel that everyone at Happy Pet Care gets to know my dog, and seeing the same people get to know her makes me feel secure that she is in good hands and that she can recognize who is caring for her without the added stress of meeting a stranger. Happy Pet Care is a great small business that we can rely on. I have been recommending their services to new dog owners in the area and I would certainly recommend them to you.

I needed a dog walker in Brighton for our new rescue and came across glowing reviews for Happy Pet Care. They are professional, super flexible, and really care about your pet. Mary is very easy to work with and very responsive. Our first meeting was with Jen and she was great with our dog and asked all the right questions. Sean was our main dog walker and he was so caring with our dog - she is 12 years old and he never got annoyed with how slow she needed to walk. The prices are very reasonable, especially for the level of quality care you get. We will greatly miss their services in the suburbs!

We've been using Happy Pet Care for dog walks 2-3 times per week since we adopted our lab mix puppy (now over a year ago). Mary is always so responsive, kind and flexible - which is so important when you have a dog. There have been multiple occasions where we need to switch days, length of walks, or add on an additional walk. Mary has almost always been able to accommodate us! Our walker is mostly either Sophia, Jen, or Mary herself. My pup can be nervous around new people when her humans aren't around, and they have all been wonderfully patient with our pup. Thanks for helping us care for our fur baby! Updated review: It has now been 2.5 years using Happy Pet Care. We could not ask for a better, more reliable, patient, understanding, and kind dog walking service. We've had Mary, Sophia, Jen, Matt, and Debra walk our pup - and they've all been great. Mary is always very responsive, and easy to work with, even with last minute changes. Additionally, her prices have not gone up, while other services we use for our pup have. The dog walks are high quality with a great price, and a lot of flexibility (because life happens). We're sad that our pup won't have them for her mid day walks while we're at work after we move.

I spent two weeks out of town and Lisa from Happy Pet Care came by my apartment twice a day to look after my rabbit, Auggie. I've never left my bun alone for a such a long time and was initially anxious about the separation, but Lisa was wonderful in every way. First, she had previous experience caring for her own rabbit, which was important to me because rabbits are nonverbal creatures and require someone who is familiar with their signs of illness or distress. Second, she sent sweet text and photos updates of Auggie twice a day, and it was apparent that he was both happy and comfortable in her care. Third, Lisa went above and beyond in caring for my bun--she weathered fierce storms to check on him, doted on him with his favorite salad greens, arranged a last-minute emergency visit when my flight home was delayed, and showered him with so much affection that not once did I worry about Auggie during the two weeks that I was gone. Can't recommend Happy Pet Care enough, and Ms. Lisa especially! She's my go-to gal from here on out whenever I'm heading out of town.

We have been using Happy Pet Care for about two years now and we could not be happier with the thoughtful, thorough care they have provided for our two dogs and two cats over this time. We have relied on Mary and her staff for individual walks, taxis, and cat sitting. We simply would not be able to manage our lives without Happy Pet Care. Mary is wonderfully responsive and always works hard to accommodate our requests, even when we have to make them at the last minute due to unforeseen changes. Mary's staff, particularly Jen and Renee, have always been nothing short of amazing. Renee in particular always goes so far above and beyond, and she treats all our pets like they were her own. We consider ourselves and our pets to be very lucky to have connected with Mary and her staff.

Darrell has been absolutely wonderful and accommodating with my hectic schedule! I can tell my pup loves staying with him and is well cared for! I would absolutely recommend their services and am thankful that they have been so welcoming and helpful! Updated review: My dog has now been going to Leash Dog care for almost 2 years and has never had any issues. The team are attentive, always updating me with pictures, and my dog clearly has a wonderful time. On top of that they work around my schedule so nicely and are accommodating as well. I will continue to recommend them if looking for overnight care, playgroup or even a walker!

She always returns happy and gets very excited when she knows that somebody from Leash is waiting outside the door for her. Darrell is very responsible and always responds our questions. We are so happy we've found Darrell and his team at Leash. The playgroups are wonderful and, when our dog has boarded with Darrell, our dog seemed to be having a vacation of his own with the other doggies! Darrell really helps the dogs feel at home when he's caring for them. Whenever we see Darrell in the neighborhood, our dog gets SO excited and wants to go with him. Our dog Ozzy loves leash! We have used leash many times for dog walking and boarding. They are very communicative and always send cute pictures and updates on how our dog is doing. They also are very flexible with pick up/drop off times for boarding. Highly recommend!

We LOVE Darrell and his team! Our puppy, Lana, comes home from playgroup every day tired and happy. He has been super flexible and understanding of our crazy schedules as we are both residents. Please do NOT take your double coated long haired dog to this place for grooming. I took my shetland sheepdog to Tails for what I thought would be a simple grooming session. I explicitly told the person at the front desk NOT to trim or cut any fur on her face- just to trim the hair between her paw pads, her butt and her legs. When I picked her up, I was horrified to see that they had trimmed her fur on her face, completely ignoring my instrcutions. My looks absolutely terrible now. Her once beautiful face is ruined, and I have no idea if her hair will ever grow back the same way. To make matters worse, when I tried to speak to the groomer to understand what went wrong, I was told by the front desk that she doesn't speak English, implying that I couldn't communicate with her at all. This is unacceptable! I am extremely upset and disappointed with the service at Tails. They showed a complete lack of professionalism and disregard for my specific requests. I would not recommend this place to anyone who cares about their pet's appearance and well-being. See pictures for before and after.

I have been bringing my pup to Tails for 2 years and have always had a great experience. My dog gets very excited when she sees that we are there, runs right in, and gives kisses to her favorite early morning staffer. She always crashes for the night as soon as we get home, sign of a fun day! The staff is loving with her and I feel like she is well taken care of there. I highly recommend Tails for fun days for your pup 🐶

I’m DEVASTATED! Do not bring your dog here. I brought my 5 month old puppy in for her first haircut. Upon my arrival no questions were asked in regards to what haircut I wanted for my dog. The woman at the front desk picked up my dog and headed to the back without any conversation. I stopped her and expressed my concern. I told her that I wanted a “teddy bear haircut medium length” They did the complete opposite. The cut is choppy, uneven, just terrible overall! I can’t believe the outcome. If you weren’t capable of doing that type of cut express that. My dog looks sick it’s actually embarrassing. She’s stuck with this botched cut all summer. Also, they didn’t give her any water the 3 hours she was there. She was very dehydrated when she got home. I will not be returning.

I used to live less than a 5 minute walk from Tails, and would stop by frequently to get treats for my cat. They were always super friendly and helpful, and my cat was happy. Recommend!

Our dog has gone to Tails for two years for daycare and boarding. She loves going and we love the care she gets! The staff are all kind and caring with the dogs. They use positive methods and never hit or yell at the dogs. We recommend them!

I am writing this review with immense frustration after the traumatic and negligent service provided by Tails. What we encountered upon returning home was nothing short of a nightmare. One of our beloved cats was discovered locked in the bathroom, in a desperate state, having been isolated and without food for what seemed like multiple days. The bathroom was in a deplorable state, covered in urine, and our poor cat was starving and distressed. The level of negligence exhibited by Tails is completely unacceptable. We had made it abundantly clear that we had two cats that needed care. Yet, they utterly failed to ensure the well-being of both, leading to this horrific situation. This gross oversight goes beyond a mere lapse in attention; it's a clear indication of their disregard for the basic needs of the animals under their care. Adding insult to injury, their communication, or lack thereof, was equally appalling. Throughout the duration of our agreement, we repeatedly requested simple confirmations of service completion for each day - a basic and reasonable request. However, Tails couldn't even provide this minimal level of communication. We weren't expecting elaborate updates, photos, or videos; just a basic acknowledgment that our cats were being looked after. Their failure to do even this left us in a state of constant worry and uncertainty, which unfortunately was justified when we discovered the condition of our cat. Their failure to communicate, coupled with their inexcusable neglect of our pet, speaks volumes about their lack of professionalism and care. This was not just an unfortunate incident; it was a clear failure on multiple levels of basic pet sitting responsibilities. I cannot stress enough how strongly I advise against using the services of Tails. No animal deserves to endure what our cat went through, and no pet owner should have to deal with such a devastating and preventable situation. Their conduct was unprofessional, uncaring, and utterly disgraceful.

My dog Henry is 11 years old and I’ve always had a hard time finding people who are trustworthy and reliable for his walks. I’ve tried many of the local doggy daycares and dog walking services and Boston Fetch is by far the best of the best. Henry is thrilled each time he’s picked up for his walk and for a pup with anxiety that’s all I can ask for! It’s amazing to get to see pictures of what he’s been up to and be emailed a map and description of the walk itself. He meets new puppy friends and I don’t worry about him at all. They are reliable, show up when they say they will, and often treat him to a longer outing or a sit in the cool grass when time allows. The app is easy to us and communication feel natural and authentic. So happy Henry has Boston Fetch friends!

I could not be happier with Boston Fetch! They're terrific with my elderly dog. For group walks they've done a great job of matching her with other dogs of similar temperament and energy. Their app is super easy to use and it's really nice to receive photos and reports letting me know how she's doing when they check in on her.

My dog is leash-reactive and needs some special attention, when I started working with BF they assured me they could take her on no problem. I'm continuously impressed with the professionalism, patience, and also the enthusiasm for my dog's visits. They LOVE dogs and do a great job with customizing the experience and making sure your dog is treated with care. I've had them for dog walks and overnight visits and the experience for all has been positive. The best part is my dog seems so happy and tired after they come. The app is great—you get emails at check in and departure, along with notes from each visit and photos.

We love Boston Fetch! I’ve used them as my dog walker since last summer, and my dog has loved all of her walkers. She’s always excited to go out, and they do such a great job of handling my exuberant girl and pair her with dogs she loves. I need to give a special shout out since my dog is currently recovering from surgery. Her walks and interactions needed to be limited. Sophie and the team have done a great job modifying her schedule and handling her exactly as needed. They did such a great job with walks that I trusted them to watch my dog while I went away for the weekend. I have utilized other dog walking companies and doggie daycares in the Boston area and Boston Fetch is the best one I’ve used. They are dog experts.

Really thoughtfully put-together dog walking service! Everyone I've talked to or met has been fabulous, cares about dogs. We needed a bit of help with our young pup even before her vaccines were complete, and Britton & Mallory and the team were happy to come over and play with her in our yard. Soon she'll be ready to go out on private walks a couple days a week, and before long for group walks, which will be great for her socialization too. Boston Fetch has been a great partner in helping us know we can take care of our pup even if work or life means we can't be there all the time. And they're partners in helping her socialize with more people and pups in a well-controlled way! The app (Scout) is great, and their policies for night before bookings and morning of cancellations is a huge help - the flexibility is great as plans change. Thanks Boston Fetch!

Noche joined the Boston Fetch family in 2018. I have been beyond pleased with Sophie and her team. They are trustworthy, responsive, reliable, caring, patient, accommodating, and professional. My Noche LOVES Tamara and Hannah! She is always excited to see them - a clear sign that she is well taken care of during her walks. The app to schedule the walks and other services is great - easy to use, and lets you know when the walk starts and ends. Also, it includes photos and notes, which I always look forward to get. I had been through several dog walkers before finding the PERFECT dog walking company for my Noche - BOSTON FETCH! I highly recommend.

I boarded my two dogs here, for 10 days. It was their first time at a kennel / boarding place, and understandably they had to pass a "temperament test", which they did. We went with the premium package where they get a "private" room for sleeping and eating; one of my dogs likes sleeping alone, so we figured some off-time away from the rest of the boarded dogs would be less stressful for him. With two dogs, the added premium over 10 days was not a big deal. They must have had a good time because they're not afraid of the area, and did not pick up any bad habits. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Paws To Consider is a wonderful dog walking service. Their walkers are professional and friendly, on time and really seem to love my dog. Cricket can be a little difficult to meet, as she has a stranger/danger reaction sometimes, but Paws does a great job of introducing new walkers to Cricket. They are great, and help me out so much with my sweet dog. Also, their level of and clear communication is fantastic. Couldn't be happier with these guys!

Very happy with the dog walking service these past few months! My corgi gets a good walk in, treats, and cute photos taken. They have been very accommodating with any last minute schedule changes. Would highly recommend!

Our neighbors recommended Paws to us three years ago and we have been scheduling occasional walks and sitting for our dog, Jack, since then. The shelter where we adopted Jack would only release him to a forever home with no other dogs since he was surrendered due to his aggressive behavior with other dogs. None of his walkers/sitters at Paws have reported any problems and frequently seem to do a better job of controlling his behavior than we do. Paws even recommended a harness which Jack seems to be much more comfortable with than the collar we were using. We love the frequent updates that the walkers/sitters provide after each walk including lots of really great photographs, maps of the routes walked, and number of bowel movements. It would be difficult to leave Jack in a kennel and we feel much more comfortable having the sitters from Paws stay with Jack at our home. We’ve always found our home as clean, orderly, and secure as we left it. All of the walkers and sitters at Paws have gotten along so well with Jack that we haven’t had to worry and sometimes even get a bit envious. We would highly recommend Paws to anyone.

We utilize dog walking services for our Goldendoodle puppy. We have found them to be exceptional! Excellent communication, Extremely organized, Reliable dog care are just a few of the things we like best. Our puppy can be difficult at times on walks and anxious around strangers. Jana has been extremely good for our pup. I always have peace of mind when I go to work. I love the report cards we get with photos. They are caring, professional and flexible. Walks are solo or with 1 compatible dog. I love that about them. It’s definitely a more personalized approach and they are very thoughtful with transitions when it comes to introducing our pup to other dog walkers they build in additional time.

Been using Paws for years (6+) and would (and did) highly recommend! They are exceptionally accommodating to fluctuating work schedules and are great with walking an extra dog, when I dog sit for friends.

Paws To Consider has been incredible! We adopted a dog last year who ended up being somewhat high maintenance. Paws To Consider has taken SUCH good care of him on his weekly walks. The post-walk messages and photos are thorough and fun to see. The administrative team has also been really helpful and flexible with our varying schedule. We are sadly moving out of their radius, and I know we won't find a dog walker that our dog bonds with as much!

Great service! We recently moved to Boston and were looking for a playgroup for our 10-lb Cavapoo. Brad didn't really have the service that fit our needs - I wanted a 2 hour playgroup where our dog could socialize and make new friends, but he kept us in mind when he hired more walkers and now our dog is out twice a week and coming home super happy. She loves Paul her new walker and looks forward to her playgroup! Thanks Brad!! Definitely recommend.

Dogs R Us is truly the best. My 3 year-old lab mix has been going to playgroup and it’s great. Brad and his team are caring, flexible, reliable and my dog has a blast. She’s gone from roughly 11-1 each day which is perfect for people working 9-5! Would recommend (and have already) to anyone!

We love DogsRUs and give them our highest recommendation. We regularly sign up for walks and have been so grateful to have our black lab puppy in their care. We find them responsible, accommodating and most important really focused on the well-being of our dog Maisie. Having Brad and Jessie involved gives me tremendous peace of mind - I know that Maisie is happy and safe.

Oh, Penny just loves her dog walkers, and we do too! From our first meeting with Brad, where our normally aloof Rhodesian Ridgeback typically gives the cold shoulder to stranger humans, Penny recognized the care and affection in Brad and "investigated" him almost immediately. Brad was very clear about the process of getting Penny set up for walks, accommodated our schedule well and made suggestions, and best of all, Penny got a holiday weekend with Brad when we were unable to take her along on ours! Brad and Jesse are always on time, completely reliable and trustworthy and COMMUNICATE very well, which is so important. Also, Penny is a big dog and needs to do some time off leash, and Brad and Jesse were able to work with us on a good plan for her to be able to do that as well as to have some playtime with other dog buddies periodically, which is so important, especially for a large breed who likes to play...with giant, strong paws...

I moved to the South End with Telly, my 11 year old Samoyed, several months ago and knew I needed to begin my search for a dog walker/sitter in the city. I came across Dogs R Us online and could not believe the reviews I was reading. Needless to say, they certainly live up to those great reviews and more. Brad, the owner, is not only professional but very responsive and reliable when planning walks or overnight stays. Vanessa, Telly’s walker, is one of the most compassionate dog lovers I have ever met. Sometimes, I think Telly is happier to see Vanessa walk in the door than me. I highly recommend Dogs R Us to my fellow neighbors for both walking and boarding as your fur baby will be in good hands.

The owner and team at Dogs R Us are the best! We have a Vizsla puppy that we have been sending to play group a few days a week with Dogs R Us since he was 4 months old. Brad and our walker, Robert, are extremely reliable and always able to accommodate late-notice requests or cancellations. They use an online app for scheduling and invoicing that is extremely convenient. Great experience with the team and would recommend to anyone looking for dog walking or dog watching services!

I can't recommend Dogs R Us enough. I had both of my dogs stay at Dogs R Us. They were comfortable from the minute they got there. I received pictures and updates every day. They even took my little guy to the Apple Store in Derby. I had to stay an extra night out of town and it was no problem. I will definitely call Brad and Jess to take care of my dogs. They are accommodating, caring and kind.

DogsRUs is wonderful! The owner, Brad, is super down to earth and has a ton of experience. They have really taken the time to get to know our little vizsla puppy which makes us comfortable leaving her in their care during the day! We also really like the dog walking application they used called "Better Walker," which makes scheduling walks really easy. Mindful Mutt did an amazing job taking care of my senior dog during a last minute boarding stay we had over the weekend. It was clear they put in so much work above and beyond the usual to keep him safe and stress free. We also really appreciated the pictures and updates throughout his stay.

Top-notch care by really caring humans. I love The Mindful Mutt crew! They truly care for my pup and work with her to stimulate her little brain. The fact that this is a *structured* daycare makes a huge difference in my dog's life. They play, train, and rest during the day. The scheduled rest times ensure my dog will not go into overdrive and remains a happy, balanced dog. When I pick up my Luna she is physically and mentally tired and never wants to leave. I can't sing any more praises to Deanna and her team. They are the best!!

We love The Mindful Mutt! My dog is pretty anxious but the staff is thoughtful about how they handle each dog and very kind. Almost every day at pick up, a member of their team gives me a little overview of how the day went. Deanna, the owner, is super responsive and communicative. My dog seems to really like all of them! They also take videos throughout the day and post to instagram — it’s so nice to be able to check in and see how they are doing.

The Mindful Mutt is fantastic! We have a very high energy dog who loves to play and run around almost nonstop. He always comes home tired and happy. Every time I bring him he gets super excited and now doesn't even look back when I drop him off! The staff are great and knowledgeable, and Deanna, the owner, loves working with dogs and had years of experience. I can't recommend Mindful Mutt more highly!

The mindful mutt is a doggy day care on a whole new level. The owner, Deanna, is wonderful and will take great care of your pup. The dogs get to play and do mind games during their stay, keeping them engaged a happy. They get a walk as needed, and they can even stay overnight - with Deanna on site! We have searched long and hard around Boston for day care, with a wide range of staff/facility "levels" (to stay nice) but this place is by far the best. We love Mindful Mutt — they take excellent care of our senior dachshund when we are out of town, and we get many many photos of him as an office assistant giving kisses to the team. Everyone is so gentle and relaxed and we can’t overstate how much we appreciate the great care.

We left our dog Lucy with the Mindful Mutt while we had to travel for two weeks and we felt very comfortable that she was being taken care of. The staff was all very kind and you can tell they care for the dogs. They were also very prompt to respond and provide updates on Lucy during her stay (we loved seeing the pictures and videos of her posted to instagram!). Our little puppy Mack has been going to The Mindful Mutt weekly (+ some overnights) for over 4 months now. Deanna and the entire Mindful Mutt team are some of the most caring people in general, let alone with animals. It has been such a an amazing experience bringing Mack. Instead of causing a ruckus at home, he gets to go a few days a week to play (and learn how to play) with all sorts of other dogs, works on his skills, and gets to have some structure in his energetic puppy life. We love TMM!

We feel unbelievably fortunate to have found The Mindful Mutt. We have two dogs and we trust Deanna implicitly with them. The team is also extremely responsive when we call with questions and they reach out to us timely if there's anything they need to bring to our attention while our dogs are there. We seriously won't board our dogs anywhere else at this point. It's so comforting knowing we can go out of town and our dogs are at a place where they're cared for and happy. We've lived all up and down the east coast with our pups, and this is far and away the best we've ever felt about where we board them. I give Deanna and her team my highest recommendation.

I’ve been using Above & Beyond for the past 2.5 years to walk my two dogs, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! They have a wonderful way with my nervous pups, making them feel comfortable and secure. Not only are they incredibly caring, but they are also super communicative, providing daily updates that always brighten my day. Ana especially is amazing. We've been using Above and Beyond for years, and they truly live up to their name with their above-and-beyond care for our cats. They are responsible, friendly, and genuinely great with animals. Every visit comes with a thoughtful email, complete with a photo collage and a detailed summary, which always gives us peace of mind while we're away. They've also been incredibly flexible, helping us out with last-minute changes and requests without hesitation. We love working with Sarah, Faith and the team. They helped to get my nervous dog more comfortable with taking walks with folks besides me, and they were able to build rapport with her so quickly. Their responsiveness and flexibility has been fantastic for my schedule as well.

Above & Beyond Pet Services is wonderful. I transitioned my King Charles Cavalier to dog walks about 12 months ago from doggie daycare as I realized he preferred the one on one attention. Sophia has been his primary walker for several months now. She is very attentive to Asher and will always mention in her notes if she notices anything out of the ordinary. I met her and she is very kind and caring. I know that Asher is in good hands and that she is able to adjust to his needs each day which differ based on my schedule with him and if we walked the prior night or earlier in the morning. I know that he looks forward to spending time with her whether they walk or play depending on his needs for the day I know she is giving him lots of love and attention. I am so grateful to have this incredible reliable and professional service for my dog who is my family.

Elise and Lillian walked our aging pup under the senior walk program (2x a day). They were both amazing, and Maya loved all of her walkers from A&B, but these two take the cake! We are so grateful for Above and Beyond and the services they provide. When we adopted our puppy, we never expected it to be so hard to find dog care but once we found them, they have been amazing. The entire company, from the office staff to the walkers, especially Katsumi, treats Quinn like she is their own. They are responsive to any question or special need we have and super professional in every interaction, always going above and beyond.

Both Ted, the.owner, and Sarah, the mamager of all operations for the business, are exceptional. I have.worked very closely with them, especially Sarah, to make sure my cats' needs were addressed, in two settings - my home, and the hotel I stayed in for the last few months in Boston. I have had my fair share of pet sitters over the past thirty years, and Sarah ranks as among the best - clear and persistent, empathetic, professional, and accommodating. I was very lucky to find and engage A&B, as well as to have been the recipient of their generosoty and their professionalism. Here's hoping I find a.comparable provider in Berkeley!

I've been using Above & Beyond for years, and they've always done a great job taking care of my two cats. I have them bring in my mail, in addition to putting out food and water, and scooping the litter. I get nervous about leaving my cats for trips, but the daily email updates A&B sends with photos of the cats and the services they're doing really puts my mind at ease. They've always been easy to schedule and communicate with. Would highly recommend.

Ted and the team helped immensely when we needed immediate care for a family member's cat. They were so communicative and sent photos and a summary every time they came over! I highly recommend their services.

The Daily Stroll has been a second home for our dog since he was a tiny puppy. The staff and the manager Eric obviously LOVE our dog and have helped raise him. This large dog facility is great for our small but very high energy pup, and he always gets nice and tuckered out playing with the other dogs. We feel lucky to have this option close to home, and would highly recommend it to any local dog owners.
