This is the second time that Joelle had sat for us. The fact that we invited her back for a second house sit is proof of how good we feel about Joelle. She is dependable, organized and thoughtful. Most importantly, our dog was relaxed and happy when we got home.
We can highly recommend sitting for Coral, she is a nervous cat but soon settled and liked attention and to be around us. Communication with Sally and Steve was great both before and during the house sit. They kept in touch throughout our stay with Whats App and were thoughtful and appreciated the photos of Coral as this was the first time she had been left with sitters. The house is well located for exploring the local area and also for trips into London with a good rail service from a nearby station. The house has a lot of character and quirks and was very comfortable to stay in. The back garden is very pretty, with beautiful flowers and lovely places to sit out and relax with Coral sitting nearby. We would certainly recommend this lovely sit.
Beautiful Charlie and beautiful Summer .. 💗 Kim was amazing with the communication. Loved staying there , being around Charlie and Summer. They deserve so much love 💛
You know how every now and then you find yourself at a house sit in which all four elements of the sit are perfect? This sit for Linda and David in Santa Paula is one of those rare sits. Linda and David are a pleasure to work with and a dream to house sit for. They are by nature sociable and outgoing, fun and funny. They are a great mix of kind, considerate, and generous. No matter what we requested – their best bedrooms and bathrooms, a place for our car in their garage -- they were accommodating. For all that we did, they were appreciative. Having done over 100 house sits, you can imagine that we’ve had to sit through some terrible home-cooked meals with well-meaning homeowners. That’s not the way it is at Linda and David’s table. The dinner they hosted and prepared for us was joyous and delicious. We’d like to find a way for all homeowners to learn to cook and entertain like they do. Linda and David took their three dogs and twelve chickens with them on their trip, so, during our sit, we were only responsible for caring for their cats. Pooch has to be seen to be believed. He has paws like a lion’s and roams the house like a lion on the savannah. While he is gentle and sweet, and a courteous companion in bed at night, he has an I’m-the-leader-of-this-pride demeanor. Cassie and Heidi are extremely sweet and affectionate, and always looking for an empty lap. They spent much of the sit sleeping on one lap or the other, and Heidi joined Pooch in sleeping with the humans on the bed at night. Leo never came in the house during our sit, but we did get to see and talk to the little guy in the cat house behind Linda and David’s home. Leo has at least three girlfriends from the neighborhood, and servicing them and feeding them out in the cattery seems to fully occupy Leo’s days and nights. Linda and David’s home is beautiful – clean, tidy, and nicely decorated – the credit for which we assign to Linda. Their kitchen is roomy and well-equipped making cooking during the sit easy and pleasant. Here’s a telling detail: In the pantry, all the cans of tomato sauce are not just stacked together nicely and evenly, they’re also stacked with their labels facing out. That kind of care can be found throughout the house. David is a finalist in the “Tidiest Garage in America” contest. Your car will appreciate the accommodation. Linda and David’s house is the highest house in Santa Paula, so it has gorgeous views in three directions. There are balconies in front and a lovely patio in back from which to enjoy the views. Santa Paula is a quiet Southern California town with an interesting history. It has a few good restaurants and nice stores. But it’s very close to Ventura. Ojai and Santa Barbara are a short drive to the west, and Oxnard and Thousand Oaks are just down the 101 to the east. There are a Whole Foods, a Traders, and a Ralph’s (Kroger), and a whole flock of restaurants in Ventura. The top boulangerie and patisserie for miles around is the exceptional Café Ficelle. How good is it? Babar was seen there recently.
Thank you for having us Stephanie & Jed. We really appreciated your flexibility with our arrival time. We had a great stay in Wells looking after Keza. She was the most beautiful dog, we got lots of cuddles & she was very happy to come with us to Cheddar Gorge. Great location to explore & low maintenance apartment to look after.
We had a great experience sitting at Danica’s. Her pets were a joy. Her dog and two cats get along very well, and love playing with each other. They also love attention and treats. Danica’s house is as beautiful as it is comfortable. It is well located in Alameda, easy walking distance from restaurants and grocery stores. The quiet neighborhood and the architecture of homes in the area adds to the pleasure of walking her dog. All in all we had a great time and would be happy to return.
