I had a great time with Maizey and Nala! They are completely different but I had the same fun. Kelly's place is organized and she made everything easier for me. I loved staying there!
Daisy and Holly were fantastic company and they were a pleasure to walk in the beautiful woods that adjoined the property. The cats, chickens and snake were easy to care for and the house was in a beautiful setting and very comfortable. The area has lots to offer with Monmouth and Tintern Abby being a short drive away. Lucy and Phil were incredibly welcoming and the communication was excellent. Would highly recommend.
I had a wonderful time with Rusty at Steve and Debora’s beautiful home on Whidbey Island. Rusty is a really sweet, lively, energetic dog. He’s a bit shy at first around strangers and barked at me quite a bit in the very beginning, but don’t let that deter you – once he gets to know you, he is delightful and wants to be your best friend. I arrived ahead of time to have a chance to get to know Rusty while Steve and Debora were still there. I gained Rusty’s trust by walking him together with his parents, giving him doggy treats, and just spending some time at the house. I stayed in a very comfortable guest house next to the main house, so I had my own kitchen, living room and bedroom. I also spent quite a bit of time in the main house since that’s where Rusty was. There was good Wifi and decent cell phone reception. The property itself is large and nicely maintained, with plenty of room to take Rusty for off-leash walks and for Rusty to run around on his own. The location of the house on Whidbey Island was fantastic because of its lush and plentiful nature, with lots of parks and reserve land complete with well-maintained trails. I was there for a week and was able to go to a different park every day with Rusty. Favorites include Putney Woods County Park (very near the house), South Whidbey State Park, Ebey’s Landing Reserve, and Double Bluff Beach. For the first couple of days, I kept Rusty on-leash for walks, until I was sure he was totally comfortable with me and would come to me when I wanted him to. After that, I was able to let him off the leash for walks (although that was not allowed in all of the parks, only some of them). Debora and Steve were very nice. I kept in touch with them via text message periodically while they were away. I would recommend this house sit to anyone who loves nature, dogs, forest walks and beach walks. Oh, and one more thing - the local grocery stores were great, they have pretty much everything, so no need to worry about stocking up on a lot of food for the trip.
Had a wonderful stay in Moelfre. The house is very comfortable and in a beautiful location, so close to the sea and the coast path. But the best part of our stay was the company of the amazing dogs, Flower and Lila. They were so well behaved and great fun too. We had delightful walks and they were happy on and off the lead, and they loved a game of catch with their ball In the garden. Thank you Delia and Daniel and we would love to sit for you again.
Kate and Robert were great and their little digs were such cuddle bugs! They were very understanding when my flight was cancelled and I had to book a flight that was less than ideal. I worked to book the earliest flight but unfortunately it meant we no longer had an overlap to bridge an introduction. They left detailed care instructions as a countermeasure that were incredibly helpful. That being said, I highly recommend having an overlap if it is at all possible. The dogs took a little bit of time to warm up and to realize I wasn't so scary in the absence of their owners. Once they did though, they were super sweet. The house is also beautiful and set up to be very relaxing. Thank you, Kate and Robert!
The cats Anton and Victor are adorable. They enjoy playing, especially in the morning and in the evening. They are a joy to be around and require standard cat care: cat food, playtime, changing water, and cleaning the litter. It's very low maintenance. Louise and Jem's house is a delight and it’s very comfortable. They left me various takeaway menus and tourism pamphlets for the city and area that made my sit wonderful. If you have any questions, Louise is really quick to reply! Thank you for the Easter eggs and the beautiful card! It's a pity that we missed each other due to my travelling time, but it was great to be welcomed by your neighbour. I highly recommend this sit.
