It’s a lovely home in a spectacular area with a great view of the ocean! Their dog is very sweet and so much fun. Lots of great walks and hikes right out the door. Wonderful time and I’d love to do it again.

Sheri
Sheri came out to meet us before we could get to the front door, and greeted us as if we were old friends. She immediately started the "tour" outside in the vegitable garden, explaining it was on an automatic watering system, needed very little maintainanance from us, but to take whatever we needed during our stay. We moved inside and were greeted by Steve, between them they explained everything we would need to know during our stay, from feeding their dogs to the TV. Now, the two dogs are very special. Murphy is a big boy and a very Zen dog, Lucy is a very friendly girl, we immediately bonded with them, or more accurately, they immediately accepted us, they were no problem at all, wonderful pets. Location, location, location! "Quiet and serene" and that is exactly what it is! The house is very stylish, it has great ambiance, the kitchen is "to die for", as the expression goes. Charlotte is less than an hour away, but for us there, was enough to do in the Waxhaw area. Don't miss the Alphabet Museum, it sounds average, but it is facinating, and only about 5mins away. We loved sitting for Sheri and Steve, and Murphy and Lucy, and so will you.

This was a wonderful five-star house and pet-sitting experience for me.

Polly and Alan clearly communicated the requirements for taking care of both their dog Finn and their house ahead of time. They provided an excellent and comprehensive sitters guide so I could be well prepared before I arrived.

They are a very generous and welcoming couple. Alan picked me up at the airport and introduced me to Finn. He was a lovely dog and I knew at once that we were going to get on together.
Alan took me on an evening walk with Finn to make sure I was familiar with handling him. Their home is located in a very appealing and walkable neighborhood and Finn is well-trained and he responds appropriately to the command vocabulary in their guide.

We all had dinner together and got to know each other and Polly demonstrated administering the evening pill and twice-weekly ear rinse to make sure I was comfortable with my duties! They provided clear reminders on the kitchen whiteboard to make sure I wouldn’t forget anything.

I felt that Finn and I bonded easily. I found him easy and fun to walk and after Alan and Polly left, I took him on neighborhood walks, and then we branched out to walks in the local park and then some forest trails and even visited local tourist towns with him together with my local friend Ellen who joined me for some activities. It seemed like everyone we met on our walks wanted to say hi to Finn and pet him.

The house is very comfortable filled with natural light and colorful poster art. Finn doesn’t sit on the furniture so the sofa and chairs are mostly free of pet hairs! I slept well in their guest bedroom. I brought Finn’s dog bed into the room with me and he slept with me in his bed on the floor. Another great house feature is that it has a doggy door so that Finn can take care of his needs if necessary during the day and evening.

As far as activities, they have a basket full of tourist brochures. Asheville, Hendersonville, local forests, wineries, waterfalls, mountaintop yoga, and two awesome bakeries topped a long list in a very satisfying 12 days. Thank you so much, Alan, Polly, and Finn. I truly hope our paths cross again someday.

Had the best time looking after Sandy, Nico, Bertie and the chickens <3

Jane and Steve were so lovely and welcoming and I felt at home straight away :~)

Sandy and Nico are the most friendly dogs and walking them in the woods everyday was so fun, it was a joy to take care of them. Bertie is maybe the sweetest cat I've ever looked after too, he came and napped with me on the bed some days which was so nice!

Thank you Jane, Steve, Sandy, Nico, Bertie and the chickens for such a beautiful sit :~) x

Charlie and Norah are a joy to hang out with. They are very mellow and just like to be near you. If you like gardening, the garden is absolutely luscious with veggies, tomatoes, green beans, flowers, and more! Overall it was a lovely time watching over Norah, Charlie, and the home.
