We were delighted to have John and Nancy watch our dog, cat and house while we were away for two weeks. They arrived the night before and we enjoyed getting to know them. In addition to running a medical practice together, they've also done extensive medical volunteer work around the world. They clearly love animals, and we left on our trip with no worries about how things would go in our absence. When we returned, the house was in great shape and our pets were happy. We'd love to have John and Nancy for a return sit--or just for dinner!
Alicia was a wonderul sitter for Roo. She was super kind, communicative, and on top of everything! She sent me photos of Roo and asked questions and kept in touch with anything that was happening/if she was not sure about something. I felt that Roo was in very good hands. I came home to a tidy house and Roo seemed in good spirits. Would recommend Alicia and definitely have her watch Roo again!
On the positive side, Emily and her son loved my dog, took very good care of her, and sent me photos of her on their adventures. On the other hand, Emily did not communicate about my goats and chickens even though I specifically asked for updates. I left very detailed information, and I walked through the feeding processes for all the animals with Emily and her son. I came home to find lots of the hens' food scattered all over their floor and a shelf (instead of in their food tin). Their water was very dirty. They had been fed mealworms daily as their treat rather than once/week as instructed. Although I've been home for 4 days, the hens eating pattern remains disrupted. The goats' house had not been cleaned. I had asked that my full yard waste bin go out to the curb for pick up, but that was not done. I've used TH for over a decade, and I've always had 5 star sitters who cared for all of my animals just as my instructions indicated. I've given Emily 4 stars in spite of my disappointment, because my animals were alive and ok when I got home-- that's a bottom line.
