We had a wonderful time with Digby and Beau. They are beautiful dogs and full of character. Paul was fantastic too, he has the most stylish place which is so comfortable and welcoming. He gave us lots of information about the area and we were armed with plenty of recommendations to eat and see. Bramhope is a great village with plenty to do if you don’t want to venture far. The dogs were great to take out and about. We have an understanding of terriers and their personalities which helps when taking them out. These two were a joy. They gave the best cuddles constantly! We can not recommend this sit enough, and hope to get invited back.. We miss Digby and Beau already.
I really enjoyed my 2 week cat sit at Lynne and Rob's lovely home, and their huge garden. It felt like a peaceful oasis in the countryside, yet was also not far from the pretty little town of Bewdley, as well as lots of other wonderful places to visit not too far away, such as Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills AONB. Lynne and Rob were very welcoming, having made me a home-baked loaf of bread which was a lovely surprise. Their garden is full of home-grown veg, herbs and fresh fruit trees/bushes, which they said I could help myself to, so at this time of year it was wonderful to pick fresh produce each day if I wanted to. The 2 cats, Holly and Ivy were an absolute delight to take care of. They were so sweet and gentle. Ivy was more than happy to let me stroke her any time of the day, and as soon as she saw me coming she would run back to her blanket on the sofa so that she could be petted in her favourite spot. Holly was a lot more reserved and a bit jumpy - she needed to be approached carefully and slowly, but was definitely open to be stroked when she was in the mood for it. She was then totally content for me to stroke her and tickle her tummy for ages. It was also Holly who would come and let me know when it was her breakfast/dinner time, which was really funny. It was as if she had swallowed a clock, as she appeared 'like clockwork' for every meal. Lynne and Rob were great at communicating, both before and during the sit. I regularly sent them some videos and photos, and they sent me some photos from their trip as well which was lovely. They also left a detailed information sheet for me, along with giving me a handover when I arrived. They were extremely helpful when there was a minor power cut in their road one afternoon on a very windy day, with Rob keeping me regularly updated on the situation, timeframes etc, even though he was in France at the time. Lynne and Rob are a lovely couple, with a light, bright and comfortable home, gorgeous garden and 2 adorable cats - all in a great location. I would definitely recommend this sit and would not hesitate to sit for them again should our dates align.
Sitting for Joshua and his two teenaged kitties was a great experience. His place is a humble one bed one bath that we found ideal as it meant less space to keep clean during the sit. His space is comfortable and minimalistic which we found so welcoming. It was very clean and tidy with TONS of space to store our food and luggage. We were also greeted with fresh bedding and a very comfy bed. Monkey and Scout are super-easy to take care of. Monkey is a total cuddle-monster and we loved our couch snuggles with her. Scout likes to get love on her terms and can get a bit spicy when she’s had enough, but if you know how to read cats, this is easy to recognize before it’s too late ;) They are both lovely girls. One thing we thought was extra adorable was the way their little aprons swayed as they ran. It was super-cute! We just love senior kitties! The town of Lone Pine and surrounding areas blew our minds! So much adventure to be had in this area! Communication and instructions from Joshua were great. He was just a text away if we had questions about the kitties, the house, or the area in general. All around we absolutely loved our time in Lone Pine and are already planning an encore visit as soon as we can. We would 100% sit for Monkey and Scout again. Everything about this sit was fantastic!
I had a great time sitting for Leo and looking after Bau and Pitu. Leo is a great host, very friendly, welcoming and easy to get along with. She left clear instructions on everything and was very communicative throughout. The cats are a lot of fun and really easy to look after. They both have different personalities, and are great company. I found Pitu is generally more confident and enjoys to be cuddled but Bau is also very affectionate when he feels like it, and would often nose bump me to say hello when I was working at the desk. I got attached to them during the stay as I am sure any stter would do. The apartment is very comfortable and has all the facilities you could need, including a large desk and working area which Leo kindly let me use. It has great views and terraces on both sides where you can enjoy the fresh mountain air :) It is located only 10 minutes walk from the centre of town, quite steep on the way back, but great for the leg muscles... La Vella is a very interesting town, ike a mini city in the mountains with loads of great cafe's and restaurants. I was able to visit La Massana after the sit and visited the Pal / Arinsal ski resort area which is very beautiful. I would love to come back and explore more! I can definitely recommend this sit to anyone who wants to visit an interesting and beautiful place and look after two awesome cats :) Thanks Leo, and I hope to be back in the future!
Sekhmet is a sweet and very funny kitten. We just had a great time with her. She’s very easygoing and loved our daily routine with her. After her breakfast we held her in one of the windows so she could see the birds and people outside. After a morning nap she loved to play with one of her toys and specially chasing the ball. She’s crazy about her food. She always asked for more and her persuasion tactics were hard to resist. Natalia is also a very easygoing person. She prepared a very detailed welcome guide so we practically knew everything in the house and about Sekhmet. We more than recommend this sit. We already miss Sekhmet and the great time we had in Paris.
What a dream of a catsit this was! From start to finish, every human and feline interaction was an absolute joy. Thank you, Sharon, Ian, Elly and Olly, for being such thoughtful and generous hosts. Your instructions and local tips were so helpful and thorough, your home is lovely, and where do I even start with Smee and Simba! Gentle, friendly, cuddly, easy-going, curious and intelligent — not to mention beautiful, and I think they know it! 🙃 I miss the two floofs already. 😌 It was both a pleasure and a privilege to be your first cat sitter, and I hope to look after Smee and Simba again one day.
