David and I clicked on the Zoom interview, but it was not a great fit, ultimately. The pets are fine, so the most important thing is that. And the house is fine. I guess I've been spoiled by great sitters who left our house impeccably clean and communicated daily with pictures and information that clearly indicated they knew our pets well and were taking really good care of them and our house. This seems to be the zeewoi standard. But I had to contact David every time I wanted information. He never contacted us once, although he did respond within the hour when I contacted him. But not a picture. Nothing. He even jokingly complained that our cat wasn't being warm enough to him and he considered himself a cat whisperer and was a little peeved. I laughed along and shrugged it off because he was such a nice guy. But I think he found my detailed instructions too informative? Over the 25 years I've had pet sitters some have joked about my very thorough instructions, but everyone, until David, told me they very much appreciated too much information rather than not enough. It doesn't appear he paid them much attention. He didn't recycle. He didn't take in our mail, several days worth was left sitting in our mailbox, which he explained was because we hadn't explicitly asked him to bring it in. The same was true about sending pics of the animals or communication. If I'd asked he would have, but I didn't, so he didn't. The same went for a package that was delivered the day we came home. It arrived at noon, 5 hours before he left our house, but he just left it outside. He said he figured it "would be fine" out there until we got home. He also left earlier than we'd agreed to over text. It's clear if you read the instructions what time the dogs eat dinner and I told him to please stay until dinner, walk them as instructed and then feed them before he left. He left an hour and a half earlier than that to meet friends at the beach. He also didn't follow the instructions for feeding one of our cats, about not leaving her food out because the dogs would eat it before she got a chance to. He did this at least twice that I know of. There was a coating of sand in the shower. The bed was made-ish. He didn't bother with the wash cloth on the bathroom counter I asked him to use to wipe it down so the poured cement doesn't stain. It was untouched, perfectly folded and the post-it note was still stuck to it . The floor was not swept, lots of fur tumbleweeds, although I'd left the vacuum out. And when I challenged him his response was that, "he was not a professional." Except that this site is based on a pay-based membership and at least I expect professional behavior from the sitters who I entrust with my pets and my house. He was taken aback by my texts challenging him when we got home and had discovered all the above. He said he's received nothing but good reviews before and I have no reason not to believe him. He also said he "probably won't use the app again." He said he was "feeling a little attacked" by my observations, even explaining that he'd been asked back by other sitters, and one even paid him some $, though he hadn't asked for it and never would. I've never ever had anything but great relationships with the sitters I've had in my home, through this site or before over the years. Some were long-term sitters for over a decade. I liked David very much as a person over the phone. I have to say we were not a good match once I came home and saw the lack of attention to our instructions, and that he hadn't cleaned up after himself thoroughly before leaving. Not all fits are good ones. This one wasn't for me., though I wish David the best, as he did me.

Absolutely beautiful area, very nice accommodation, and most importantly, three good-natured pets to care for. The two elderly cats aren't always around, but come feeding time, they turn up. The fact that they need daily medication is really no problem. Molly is a lovable labrador: she's affectionate and likes human company. She's happy with one good long walk each day, but more than willing to have a second walk. Molly is well behaved, but has an unfortunate fondness for muddy water...
We were made very welcome by the house-owners, and felt comfortable and unstressed. The garden is gorgeous, there are plenty of footpaths and quiet lanes: we couldn't wish for anything more.

What a fun two week house / pet sit this was with the awesome duo of Harley (Mavipoo) and Rusty (Cavipoo) at Mike and Deb's home!

I was invited to spend the night a day prior to Mike and Deb's departure. In meeting Mike and Deb, they were welcoming and kind hosts who made me feel comfortable. They gave me a thorough walk-through of their immaculate, spacious, and comfortable home which has a lovely water view from the sunroom/lanai. In going over Harley and Rusty's routine, I could tell that they are proud and loving pet parents who adore their precious baby boys. Upon request, I received a detailed Welcome Guide along with supplementary information entitled, "A Day in the Life of Harley and Rusty". I appreciated the hospitality shown towards me and for inviting me into their home and to care for their amazing pups. Speaking of amazing pups......

Harley and Rusty are adorable, sweet, super fun, intelligent, energetic, playful, and just a joy to be around. Like people, dogs have their own unique personalities and these two are no different. In meeting Harley, from day one he warmed up to me right away with a wagging tail and smiling eyes. Rusty was very leery of me and gave his territorial bark as to say, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" (LOL) I decided to give him his space and time. I just remained patient and understanding. Sometimes silence is the best medicine. Respect and trust have to be earned. Afterall, I was a stranger in his space.

By day two, Rusty was warming up more and more of following me, wanting to be near, and could never give enough kisses. I guess he said, "Well she feeds me, gives me treats, takes me for walks, and does playtime, she might be a keeper." (LOL)

Rusty and Harley are still young pups learning the world around them. Waking up each morning, they reminded me to always take time to "smell the flowers" and to enjoy each moment as it comes. It really was a joy to witness their consistent happiness, excitement, and simplicity at awakening to each new day with no thoughts of the yesterdays--only what was happening in the present. Their only focus was when would they get their walks, have playtime, meals / treats / snuggles, and any other fun activities.

I always looked forward to begin the day with these two. As I let them out of their crate, they (and me) were always excited to go on walks—evidenced by their playful jumping on my legs. The boys are walked on a double leash and they do pull. Since Harley has shorter legs, I adjusted the leash to where he could control the pace better. We had multiple walks daily and we explored different streets/routes throughout the neighborhood. Rusty loved to sniffer every blade of grass that he could and Harley was always on the lookout for geckos.

The boys love playtime with their squeaky toys. It would be quite entertaining to see them try and pull a toy away from the other by playing tug of war. Even though smaller, Harley is strong, would never back down, and held his own. Whatever toy I threw for one, the other tried to keep the other from getting it. They really are little comedians. Also, sometimes I would grab a toy (play keep away) and Rusty would chase me and vice versa.

Harley and Rusty both are very athletic pups! They both are super-fast and do well on their hind legs keeping balance trying to hold on to the toys. Rusty likes to entice Harley into game play...most times Harley ignored him. 🤣

Even though not biological brothers, I can tell that they really love each other and are best friends. It was funny how one would bark and mimic the other whether he heard something or not.

They are both teachable / trainable as I worked on reinforcement training with them. I even taught them "down". Big brother Harley learned quickly; Rusty was coming along...needs a little more practice.

Harley is more of the Alpha male friendly outgoing pup and willing to meet any person or dog (regardless of size). Rusty is a little more reserved as he is willing to meet other dogs / people on his own terms and can be sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements.

Harley and Rusty brought laughter and many smiles to my face. The time I spent with them was precious and unforgettable. Oh, Harley, I won't forget you walking around with the red toy I named "Ben" before our early morning walks. I won't forget how you became my shadow and your tail was nonstop wagging. I won't forget all the kisses and cuddles on my lap. I won't forget him always stealing Rusty's treats whether he was looking or not. I won't forget my shampooing him and him ready for it to be over. (LOL)

Oh, Rusty, I won't forget the first kiss you gave me as I put on your harness. I won't forget our playtime of keep away with their toys. I won't forget him cuddling under my arm during a rainstorm and laying his head on my lap.

Oh, boys I won't forget the naps we took together on the couch. I won't forget how they both love their meals and treats. I won't forget when I read on the news of a former college basketball player passing away and the tears I cried. I won't forget when they both licked my face / tears and Rusty gave me a hug. Were they trying to console me? I won't forget them both of always wanting to keep me company, just wanting to be close, and never a bother. I won't forget my having random conversations with them and reading them dog bedtime stories at night, and them trying to understand what I was saying...maybe they did. I won’t forget the goodbye kisses they both gave me when I departed.

Simply put: I won't forget Harley and Rusty and our cherished moments together.

Rusty and Harley are affectionate boys who could never tire of getting kisses and belly rubs. Sometimes they both would nudge my hand so they could be petted. They both are very loving and will do great with a patient, loving, and understanding pet sitter. Once they feel comfortable and safe and you earn their respect and trust, you will have forever friends. They are fabulous company and melted my heart.

Mike and Deb are appreciative pet parents with two awesome pups that I know many will enjoy pet sitting for.

I had a great time at Amanda's place with Polly and Minnie. I felt very welcomed, and Victoria is a lovely town.
The kitties are sweet and gentle. After breakfast, they liked to hang outside and watch the world go by. They always came back when it was time to come inside. P.S. Apollo LOVES his food, lol.
It was fun to meet Amanda's friends and hear about the Rolling Stones concert!

This was such a comfortable and pleasant sit - really nice home and sweet loveable cats, and fast, clear communications with owners as needed.

The four cats had such different histories and are so fortunate to have been adopted into this caring family. Kiki was tiny, felt so fragile, but loving and snuggled on my lap keen for strokes and company and her extra (necessary) little snacks. Looby also hung out lots with me in kitchen and lounge, while Teddy more independently popped in and out the cat flap, more out than in. I regularly popped upstairs and sat for a while with the segregated fourth cat, Trixie, for company, checking feed, water and litter tray; she’s new and getting accustomed to her new home and house mates; another gentle calm sweetie.

The owners were very obliging, kindly making up another comfy bed for my long-time fellow visiting Aussie friend who’s path briefly coincided with mine this trip.

I enjoyed my stay, it’s a great location for an easy drive to the New Forest - beautiful in its autumn colours, and Southampton - a delightful historic town.

Thank you for having us stay, and I would highly recommend.

Our stay at Marie's house in Bala was comfortable and relaxing. We loved going for walks around the area, as this part of Wales is absolutely stunning (we recommend the Precipice Walk!). Cooper was very fun and affectionate. We got on with him straight away. He is amicable and friendly. He is still quite strong for his age, but the harness and leash which Marie provided were enough to hold him. When passing other large dogs, they sometimes lunged at each other, but we were prepared for this and it wasn't a problem for us. We were able to keep him off the leash for large portions of the walks and he would never stray too far. He loved being petted and was great company.
Moscow was very friendly too, stretching out on the floor for belly rubs a few times each day. He was very docile and got along very well with Cooper. We loved getting to know both animals and they were very easy to take care of!

These dogs were a lot of fun to play with! Barry and Patty had a beautiful yard and we're great folks to sit for! They were very kind and considerate. Would definitely sit for them again. Was an easy sit. Thanks again!
