Emily took very good care of our home and dog. She left the house clean and our pup happy. She did everything we asked. She communicated well and sent pictures of our happy dog 🐕 I am so thankful she was available last minute.
I loved my time with Fuji and Marie-Jeanne! Mayder and Gerald were wonderful to work with, excellent communication and preparation. And the house is phenomenal - so comfortable, beautiful and peaceful. I basically got there and never left until the last day :) Highly recommended for TrustedHousesitters!
This was one of my favourite stays, partly because of the home, ( lovely setting on the river ) and the garden & general location with vineyards next door. Viva was a pleasure to look after, exceptional dog, & injections & eye drops twice daily were simple as she was so nice. Adores her walks along the river as I did ! Peter lent me his car & was able to explore the lovely old villages & St Etienne ( exceptional ) They returned early from England & were kind enough to lend their gite ( gate lodge ) to use. I would definitely return here. John
We met Louise, Paul and their son at Wrest Park before our sit in order to get to know each other. They are a warm natured, intelligent family who are very easy to talk to and get along with. We had a wonderful afternoon with interesting chats while getting to know the house, allotment and of course, the dogs! The house is large and spacious. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of space to cook. The dining area and lounge are all very comfortable and nice places to be in. Outside there's a summerhouse and the garden is not overlooked by the neighbouring properties. There are quiet places to work too if you need it. The bed is spacious warm and comfortable. We also enjoyed looking after the allotment, just a short walk up the road. There wasn't much to do other than watering some plants however, we did get to enjoy some of the vegetables! There's more, but these are the main points for us. Location wise this is a bit of a hot spot. The local shops are a few minutes’ walk away and so are some magnificent woods, which we went to every day with the dogs. Speaking of which, the dogs: Bertie (aka Mr Rolly Polly) the 'one-eyed' French bulldog/pug - What an absolute legend! Loves his walks, gets excited, performs a few 'roly-polies' then runs out of steam. So, after a quick rest, he's back on form and ready to go. Loves his cuddles and will sit with you for as long as you want, particularly under a blanket. Mabel the worrier princess - Gets all concerned about things, easily solved with a cuddle. She's a good communicator and likes nothing more than cuddling up with you in front of the TV of an evening. Also likes to hide under a blanket. Mabel has no problem with bossing her brother around when he's getting what she wants. Bella the feline hunter - Bella wears bells when she goes out. If she doesn’t, she'll return with a present for you in the form of any small local wildlife she can find. She's a very personable cat who'll spend plenty of time with you. But be aware if you’re a home-worker, she's a keyboard walker, keep that laptop lid closed when not in use or she'll send your boss a gobbledegook email while you're not looking. Bertie, Mabel and Bella all work together well as pets, they are a very good mix. Bella and Mabel have a special relationship. Bella happily wrestles with Mabel and steals Bertie's food if you're not careful. Whilst we were there, they all frequently showed affection for one another. Quite heart-warming really, seeing the dogs and cat like that... Overall, excellent owners, lovely pets, wonderful home, nice area. Looking forward to returning sometime soon. Louise and Paul, thank you for opening up your home and pets to us. We had a positive experience and most of all we have some good memories that make us smile when we recall them.
I had the pleasure of sitting for Quinn this past weekend, and it was such a treat! She is such a chill companion with a loving and endearing personality. Even days after my sit with her, I am still thinking of her and her sweet demeanor. Wendy and Blake are such kind people and pet parents. They are also exceptionally organized. They arranged for me to meet Quinn prior to the sit, and left well outlined instructions on how to care for Quinn and their home. Their home is absolutely lovely with a beautiful mountain and lake view from their veranda. I felt completely safe and comfortable in their home/neighborhood. This was a wonderful pet sit experience, and I hope to have the opportunity to sit for sweet Quinn again. : )
I had the best time with Katy and her family! I received such an incredible warm welcome! She picked me up from the airport, introduced me to everyone and I then enjoyed a home cooked dinner. The pets were all wonderful and easy-peasy to love on and take care of. We had the best time. The house and pool were both such an incredible oasis to enjoy for the week. I could go on and on about everything I experienced and how great everything was! I can't wait to go back! :)
I had a lovely time in Carcavelos and with Vasco. Amy, gave me all the information I needed up front to take care of Vasco. Amy has a nice apartment that is clean and nicely furnished, it is in a nice location and well connected to the train network, so you can easily reach the surrounding area and Lisbon. Carcavelos has a few nice cafes and a lovely beach, although dogs are not allowed between 9am and 7pm. There is a small park with a few cafes. In general, Dogs are prohibited inside cafés, Restaurants and shops. Amy gave me permission to use everything in her household, but asked me to replace it if I finnsh something. Maybe it makes sense to bring your everyday things with you such as Toiletpaper, your favorite Coffee, spices that you cook with often. Vasco is a lovely dog, he is calm and friendly and likes other dogs and people. He loves long morning and evening walks, especially on the beach where he can meet friends. During the day he likes to stay home and chill. He also can stay alone sometimes but he dont really likes it. Amy told me that she doesn't really like that Vasco is left alone at Home.Vasco is a really great companion for someone who works remotely or likes peace and relaxation, for someone who wants to go on a discovery tour it would be maybe a little too boring and Vasco would not feel Comfortable. I immediately took Vasco into my heart because he is a really great dog.
