If I could give Melissa and Mark a 10-star rating, I would! They were excellent in every way - they took great care of our cat (and sent pictures and updates while we were away), as well as left our home pristine - just as we left it. They communicated well, but not overly, and seemed to enjoy our space while treating it as their own - with care and attention. I would have them again in a heartbeat!
Ragnar was a pleasure to be around. He is gentle, intelligent, curious, sweet, and fluffy. He spent lots of time in the garden, and would let me know when he wanted to play, and when to stroke him. He tries escaping the daily combing, but with some sweet-talk he lets you do it. Fang and Thomas made me feel welcome, they are easy to communicate with, and I felt comfortable at their place. The area is quiet, near the tube and very close to green spaces for nice walks. I would look after Ragnar again 🙂
Staying at Boyup Brook at Julyan and Sue's was an interesting, enlightening and fulfilling visit. It is a quite remote location so transport is advised, also some knowledge of the surrounding Bushland area - it is easy to get lost whilst dog-walking, the sweet natured and kind bitch, Tilly. Normal bush-walking protocols apply: water, map and mobile phone. I was well instructed before the homeowners left - helpful, because the water-pump arrangements and pond refilling requirements though simple are quite intricate and requiring of a close attention to detail. There were plenty of consumables to aid both cooking (and overall survival!); I would be very happy to revisit such a pleasant, serene and peaceful environment both enjoying the company, bush walks and canine company extending. We could all keep in contact for any pending guidance or advice needed, so would not hesitate in recommending such a harmonious housesitting towards future visits - Thank you.

This was one of our favourite sits so far. Megan and her family were super welcoming and we were so glad that we got to see them all at both ends of the sit. Megan and Calvin have such a welcoming home and cozy set up. They had been extra thoughtful and cleared space in the fridge, freezer and cupboards for our visits. Which made getting a large food shop in before a snow storm very handy. The communication with Megan was friendly, informative and easy from the start. Looking after the home and pets during the winter was very straightforward as Megan had completed a great welcome guide. In fact we loved that it was a snowy winter sit. The home was very well set up for this with an amazing wood burning stove. Bandit and Cleo were such easy cats to care for but both gave us so much joy and getting to know their different personalities and seeing their relationship with us blossom over the week was very rewarding. We loved the Chickens and it taught us lots about having a future smallholding and we were grateful for the wonderful eggs and experience. Their neighbour Evan was so very helpful with keeping the drive ploughed and accessible. It is such a quiet and beautiful spot. If you get the opportunity to do this sit, any time of the year then I would jump at the chance.
Although I'm behind schedule with posting this review due to unforeseen circumstances I'm pleased to say this was a wonderful house-sit. Lisa has a beautiful and unique styled home that offered comfort with a modern flare. We met before the sit and she explained everything to make me feel welcomed and at ease. Louie and Coco were well-behaved and adorably entertaining. Louie tilts his head and talks when asking for cuddles. I enjoyed watching them play and taking quick dips in the water at the park which was conveniently across the street. Lisa lives near many great places to eat and shop in Raleigh. This sit is highly recommended!
