Jenny and Geoff spent just over a week in my house, when I returned i found the dogs to be very happy and relaxed, the house to be clean to a very high standard and even the grass to be cut I had not met them before, but found they are a very easy to get on with, very caring with regards to the animals and obviously take pride in what ever they do. I would have no hesitation in recommending them and intend to offer them future house sits How I would sum them up in a single word PERFECT!!!!!
Janie and Nigel were very easy to house sit for - they left clear instructions and a lovely bottle of wine! On several occasions I needed to communicate with them and they responded quickly. The house is very comfortable and located in a wonderful area for walking. They kindly let me take my dog Lottie along with me. Their cockapoo Muffin is somewhat excitable, but as the week went on she became calmer - I found taking the dogs for a long walk helped wear her out. I wouldn't hesitate in sitting for them again.
Maureen and Tony are really lovely people. This was apparent from our first email correspondence through the video chat interview through the duration of the sit. They are very experienced and caring pet owners who don’t use that to set unreasonable expectations, but to share their knowledge and devotion to their pets as a way to help the sitter with any questions or observations that arise during the sit. It’s also reflected in the easygoing, responsive and lovable nature of their dog and cat. Whether walking Ciara, playing with Mishti or relaxing with a book or watching a movie/TV as they both snoozed, these pets were such great companions. I missed them as soon as I left at the end of the sit. Tony and Maureen’s house is welcoming, very comfortable and spacious. It’s spotless and well-stocked for cooking and settling in. They’re very gracious about using food supplies and just feeling at home. Organized and detailed notes, along with contact numbers, were provided. And they were really quick and responsive to questions. Exemplary owners!
I had a wonderful month looking after Amon in a beautiful apartment on the Palm in Dubai. Irina was so friendly & made sure I had everything I needed to enjoy my stay with Amon. Really looking forward to looking after Amon again one day :)
If you have the chance to take care of sweet Maggie, you should absolutely jump at it. Tricia and Jerry are such warm, gracious people. They served us delicious homemade coffee cake while we got to know each other a little better, and they gave us all the info we needed to care for their precious kitty, gorgeous gardens, and home. Everything was easy, even giving Maggie her ear medication. She didn't like it, but didn't fight us. She's affectionate, playful and truly delightful company. We miss her soft fur, sweet face, loud purr, and the way she'd follow us around and sit beside us as we worked on our laptops! Their property feels like a magical, enchanted place. Flowers everywhere, eagles constantly swooping by, and other wildlife you can spot from their spacious deck, like mink and otters. You can see starfish and tiny crabs on the beach. Best of all, if you take their kayaks out, you'll almost certainly see a seal or two, and pods of dolphins! We had a wonderful time and hope we can return someday when Tricia and Jerry need a sitter again 😊
Very soon into the sit I realised the dogs and the house were infested with ticks, including furniture and beds. I told the owner and they confirmed it is a known issue in the area. I was not told of this beforehand and was finding ticks everywhere, hundreds of them lurking in every room and some even in the process of trying to burrow into us. We are ok with the odd tick naturally but believe this should have been part of the original listing. We could have been informed on our initial video call to the owner beforehand or at least by message beforehand. There were months between accepting the sit and arriving and nothing was said. We asked the owners as kindly as possible if they could to find a replacement petsitter so we could leave. We were kind and honest the whole time and I have never had to depart a sit before an end date, but we did not feel safe after receiving a direct physical threat from the owners, and the threat of lyme disease all around us. We were also asked very out of the blue halfway through the sit to oversee viewings for giving the puppies away to new owners. Dog treats consisted of biscuits made for humans and breadsticks, thus half of the dogs had bad breath problems and some were overweight. The dogs were lovely and we bonded with them all, that is the only positive of the sit. It has been my one and only negative petsit experience through 30+ sits on this site or any other site I have used.
We loved Newport. Got to meet Jay Leno! There are wonderful home tours, cool bars, good restaurants, lots of history, and we attended the St. Patricks Day Parade. The house is so convenient to everything, just a few blocks from downtown. The kitties are so easy to care for, and the litterbox is downstairs in the basement. Our hosts were super, picking us up at the airport, serving dinner, tour of the city, and use of their vehicle. Renae
