Jed and Jethro are the sweetest. ALL CUDDLES! And this apartment was insane. Such a blessing to have been able to stay there. Smack in the middle of Fort Greene, a block from everything... all subways including Nevins St., Dekalb Ave., Atlantic Terminal, etc. As well as Whole Foods, Juice Press, Next Level Burger (you have to try...), Gotham Market, and the Atlantic Mall, Cinema, etc. Jennifer was so kind to give me a tour of the whole building. Work out room with everything you could possibly need/want, a Club Level which had a kitchen, a game room, a qUIET space for reading & hanging with friends. Then... there’s the Sky Line view. On the 42nd floor, were overlooking all of NYC and Brooklyn. Literally incredible. I had such a wonderful stay here. The kitties were fed in AM & PM, then given a bit of medicine and all was easy breazy. Loved my stay, hoping I will get a call soon with a date to sit again! :) Thanks Jennifer!
Bonnie and Gary, are very welcoming having us stay the night before they left, we enjoyed our stay, chaos wanted constant cuddles which he got and once baxter got to know us he was doing zoomies around the room with jack! Lovely house, friendly and quiet neighboured, and they have the best cupcakes 5 minute drive away! We really enjoyed looking after the two doggos and staying in narangba! 😊
Molly provided thorough, excellent instructions to care for Jamie. This feline is adventurous and very affectionate with exotic markings. He loves to cuddle up next to you, and it was a lot of fun to spend time with him. The neighbourhood in Florence is gorgeous. You're right on the bike path, and can cycle to downtown Northampton in a mere 20 minutes. There are also quaint coffee shops and restaurants nearby. I really enjoyed sitting for Molly.
We really enjoyed staying with Sheik at Andre's apartment. Sheik is a super chill and friendly dog. We never had any trouble with him. We also met a nice lady in the neighboring cafe who loves Sheik so much and we visited her daily for a kind of dog lunch. The place is really amazing with everything needed for comfortable living. A variety of restaurants and cafes around didn't give us a chance to cook at home. Communication with Andre was super clear, we knew what is expected from us and had everything needed to take care of Sheik. I really recommend visiting Andre and his dog if you get a chance. You would love them and the city.
This was my first house sit/pet sit through trusted house sitters. I could not have imagined that it could have gone any better. Wendy is a wonderful host. She is very personable and organized. Instructions were clear and concise. Her home is lovely and has everything one needs. Penny Lane is a sweet, fun and very communicative pug. She loves her walks (except when it snows!) and is a snuggle bug at night. She is easy to care for and easier to love. I HIGHLY recommend this house and pet sit. I hope to be a regular for Penny Lane!
I had the pleasure of pup sitting for Andy and their sweet dog, Gracie. Andy invited me to stay the night before they left, ensuring I felt comfortable and familiar with the local hike and park options for Gracie. From the moment I arrived, I felt incredibly welcome, with so much care put into making my stay pleasant. Gracie is a wonderful, protective pup who stayed close by without being needy. During a rare heatwave, Andy thoughtfully checked in to see if I wanted an air conditioner installed in the bedroom. Although I initially said we would be fine, she assured me it could be done easily if needed. This level of consideration, even while on their family vacation, was truly generous. Their home is lovely, and Gracie and I enjoyed spending time on the deck, taking in the beautiful views. I worked on my laptop while Gracie played with her stuffed animal. Andy's communication was always clear and helpful, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. Anyone would be lucky to pup sit for sweet Gracie and care for Andy's charming home in the Berkeley hills. 😊

I have taken classes from Theresa Richmond at Mahogany Ridge for over 5 years. Most recently I sent my Wheaten Terrier for some private training. I have always been impressed at the quality of the training in the classes, but WOW the private lessons and board and train were truly fantastic. What a difference! Theresa not only has the touch with dogs, but is able to explain and help their humans! I highly recommend! Fancy says hello in her best ladylike position!
Our 6 month old boxer, Sadie, spent 16 wonderfully productive days at Mahogany Ridge while we went out of town. She did the "Board & Train" program and stayed with Theresa. When we dropped Sadie off, she knew "sit" and that was pretty much it! When we got her back, not only did she look happy & healthy, but she knew all the basic commands (sit, down, come, stay, off)... and also had been taught good manners such as no jumping, not pulling on the leash, staying off the counters/couches, sitting for her food and at the door. We were amazed!! The fact that Theresa keeps the dogs in her house with her is a huge bonus, and allows them so much more time to learn. They learn how to behave IN a house setting... which is a big advantage once you bring them home. Theresa kept in touch with us via phone/email/pictures almost every day. We can't thank Theresa enough for all the love and attention she gave to Sadie. She came back a better version of herself, which is exactly what we wanted. We will be sending Sadie back for boarding every chance we get!
I was pretty nervous to send my fist dog away to board and train, but I couldn't be happier to have sent him to Mahogany Ridge. Theresa put me at ease from our very first conversation - I could immediately tell that she is not only a skilled trainer, but cares deeply about the dogs in her care. My puppy went to Mahogany Ridge as a wild child and returned home with impeccable manners and confidence that I didn't think would be possible to learn in two weeks' time. With the board and train program, Otto was not only taught basic commands and leash etiquette but gained confidence in day to day activities such as riding in the car, visiting other people's homes, and socializing with other dogs. Plus, Theresa shared photos and videos everyday which made the two weeks without Otto more bearable. Since bringing Otto home, almost every sticking point we had before his board and train has been resolved (follows commands, doesn't cry when I leave the apartment, walks on my left/doesn't pull, and doesn't bark at other dogs). If you are considering a dog trainer, look no further than Mahogany Ridge!
Theresa is one of the best dog trainers I know. She was able to get my dog Booker, to learn when no one else could. Not only did she train my dog, but she was able to help train me to be a better dog owner. You can really tell that she loves what she does and has such an awesome connection with all animals. I can't say enough good things about her and Mahogany Ridge.
Our dog Riley has stayed with and done training Theresa many times. He comes home happy but tired...lots of good activities with Theresa. I really can not say enough good things about Theresa and her work with dogs. I am very, very particular in where I board Riley and who does training. There is - quite simply - no one better with dogs than Theresa.
I have had a variety of experiences at Mahogany Ridge with many different dogs. I am in awe of the skills of each staff member and I have learned so much from each one. I am especially impressed with how Theresa goes above and beyond even when it is not convenient. She is there for training and boarding and help with problem solving. I had to be hospitalized unexpectedly several times over the past years and she has instantly taken my service dog to care for her. Even when she was out training I could leave my dog in a crate for her and she took care of her when she got back. She was ready willing and able at a moments notice when I fractured my spine to take my dog for an unknown period of time and keep her working in service mode while I was in the hospital and nursing home for rehab I volunteer to help train service dogs for diabetic children and Theresa has been a great resource and help to me since I am not a professional trainer. Chris was amazing in helping me with calming a nervous dog by showing me the exact spot to massage and he also figured out the problem a service dog was having in a store with sonic pest repellents. The noise was hurting the dog's ears but I could not hear it as it is too high pitched for humans....just designed to keep mice and birds out of the store it also was repulsive to the service dogs. Canine Massage and nose fun along with rally and agility and the kids camps are all wonderful workshops I have attended there over the years. This is a very versatile and professional training facility that any dog would LOVE to visit. I would not say she is a 'know it all" but whatever she does not know...she does know how to find out and she can connect with someone who does know it. I would turn to her for all my canine needs anytime and always. I love Mahogany Ridge!
Mohagany Ridge Dog Training is the top dog training program within 1 hour drive of Spotsylvania county Virginia. I have participated in others over the years. I appreciate the Volhard Method that Theresa teaches. Dog Trainer Theresa Richmond takes training - both dog and human, to a whole new level. My 7 month old Miniature Poodle, Legend☆Skyler and I have completed Living With Your Dog, Part One and have learned so much. Theresa not only completely knows and trains dogs but is clearly a deeply devoted dog advocate. She knows what they are capable of and targets the highest achievement level. From the very beginning she instills confidence and motivation - in dog and human. We are so grateful for having discovered the opportunity to learn under Mohagany Ridge Dog Training and excitedly look forward to continuing our tutelage under Theresa Richmond. I encourage you to research the various programs offered through Mohagany Ridge. Ie daycare, private and group training, workshops and camp sessions. All superior. Thank you for your time reading this review. Theresa readily responds to any questions you may have.
Took our rottie here for Good Citizenship test, obedience training and agility training so far. Awesome trainer, excellent experiences. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to improve their dogs behavior or to increase their bond.
I love training with Theresa and the Mahogany Ridge experience. My dogs (2 GSDs) squeal like stuck pigs when I turn down Turkey Track road because they can't wait to have fun.
My dog and I love Theresa. Her expertise in training and her kind guidance were instrumental in developing a healthy and lovely relationship with my dog.
