The thought of a solo month on Mandy's farm was at first intimidating. I had hardly even ever been on one, let alone run it. However, she and her mom were so patient and helpful, always ready to answer any questions/concerns. I quickly realized that, as long as I committed to the directions and used my common sense, I was able to do it without incident. I'm proud of myself for this accomplishment, and I will genuinely miss the animals as well as the humans (Mandy and her mom) who helped me care for them. I feel as if everyone will miss me, too. This was my first housesit for this site, and an ambitious one, but I rolled the dice and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life. I was made to feel like I have family in Scotland. I hope I can return to visit them again sometime soon. Thanks for your gracious hospitality and trust, Mandy! Stay in touch please. And hug the critters for me.
I had a lovely stay in Bath looking after Bonnie. Julia was very welcoming and the garden flat was clean and comfertable. It had a lovely garden. Bonnie is a very sweet dog with lots of energy, she want’s to play all day long! She was very good on a lead. Bonnie was also very good with other dogs and in cafees. I can highly recommend to house sit for Julia and looking after Bonnie.
We really enjoyed dog sitting for Roxie and Brady. Our kids loved the dogs who were lots of fun. Thank you for letting us sit the dogs.
Jannette and family were so welcoming and generous. It was a real honour to look after their alpacas and chickens. They went above and beyond to make sure we could navigate the area when going for day trips and we were confident tending to the animals. It was great to learn about the land and the ongoing work to nurture it for the future! They were super understanding when I got covid during the trip. Thanks so much for enabling us to spend some special time up in the north east! : D
Ryvr, Naia, and Bug are absolutely wonderful, as is their owner. I was lucky enough to enjoy snow and spring flowers at Nicole’s place. The misty morning views (and some evenings) of the mountains and nearby ponds are gorgeous, even ethereal. I have met few such friendly and loving animals. The way the cats watch after Ryvr is so cute and sweet. Ryvr was ready to climb into the car and go anywhere, anytime. Naia was my little bed buddy and Bug my alarm clock. They all are very endearing and made the sit very easy and enjoyable – the only hard part was leaving! The house is very comfortable, simple to take care of, and has everything you could need and more. A positively delightful sit that I highly recommend. Nicole is super and very responsive. (The only thing that wasn’t totally great was my T-Mobile reception – but it was ok.)
Peg’s home is a dream. I had a wonderful time waking up to the chickens and sitting in the garden. Juno became my best bud. He’s so well mannered and affectionate, and Cuddles the cat is an easy old lady with a funny meow. The area is wonderful—right next to a giant park, a great view of the butte, and walking distance to good restaurants and markets. Peg was a gracious and laid back host, and the neighbors were friendly. I can’t wait to return!
