Lara and Gianmarco met me at the airport. Despite the fact that my flight was 12 hours late and it was close to midnight before I arrived, they were very cheerful and friendly. Lara had made dinner which we had for lunch the next day due to the late hour. The next morning, Lara drove me all over town showing me the highlights and the important places like grocery stores and the train station. She also gave me a thorough tour of the house explaining how to use the various appliances. Communication was excellent. They have a beautiful home in cozy Muttenz. It has a lovely outdoor patio with a view of a castle ruin if you stand in the yard. The kitchen is a cook's dream. The living room is spacious and beautifully furnished. The bathroom has a great shower. The bedroom is large and comfortable with a desk and plenty of space in the closet. The TV has plenty of channels for evening entertainment with an electrical outlet next to the chair. Cute Chorri watched TV with me from between my legs every evening while Estrella shared the space with us from afar. Chorri and Estrella were great roommates. Chorri, the younger of the two, was by my side every evening wherever I was. Estrella kept her distance, but warmed up to me after a couple of weeks eventually jumping into bed with me. She was always on time when alerting me to her dinner and pill time. It was uncanny. Both cats usually went outside rather than use the litter box. The house is well located. It is a five to eight minute walk to the town center where the tram stop is located and a 20-30 minute walk to the train station. (Do not buy your tram tickets ahead of time as they expire one hour from the time of purchase.) Muttenz is a suburb of Basel. It is in a great location being on the border with Germany and France. I bought a Eurail pass for 15 days out of two months. I was able to travel all over Switzerland including taking the Glacier Express (reserve seats well in advance and sit on the side of the train with two seats, not four, for the best views), the GoldenPass Line and the Gotthard Panorama Express. There is also a Bernina Express you can take with the Eurail Pass, but I ran out of time. Those trains all go through the Alps with awesome views. I was able to return home every evening. Pick up a large map of the Swiss rail system for free at the train station and download the SBB app where you can plan your rail journeys. It is crucial to have the app as it shows which tracks the trains depart from and arrive on, especially useful when you have a tight connection. The Eurail pass is valid all over Europe. I had a wonderful stay at Lara and Gianmarco's home. I highly recommend this sit and would love to return.
Fabulous time with Juju. She is a sweetheart and great cuddler. All our communication was excellent and like chatting to a friend. Petaluma is a lovely place to stay with great wine country and hiking. The accommodation is top! I highly recommend this sit.
During my time looking after this muscular and affectionate canine companion, I was amazed by the reassuring and comforting presence he provided. Jack’s alert nature was like a shield of protection, making me feel incredibly cared for as a solo female traveler. Even in the face of distractions from the next door neighbor pup guinness and his girlfriend schnauzer, Jack was steady in his obedience, ready to listen and follow stern commands. But what truly warmed my heart was his gentle demeanor and love for cuddling. As the weather started to turn colder, Jack proved to be the best cuddle buddy one could wish for. Behind his strong exterior, Jack is all love and affection. He knows when to be gentle and understands when a play session gets a bit too rambunctious. His energy level, akin to that of a playful puppy, reflects the warm and loving environment provided by Julie and Cliff. I’m thankful for the chance to spend time with Jack in the quiet little haven of Huntersville during my autumn journey across the East Coast. If you’re lucky enough to look after Jack, you’ll discover that he’s not just a protector but a true friend, and he’ll leave an indelible paw print on your heart.
I very much enjoyed this house sit. Nicky and her family were very friendly and welcoming and communication with Nicky before, during and after my stay was great. She left clear instructions for me and gave me the phone numbers of friends living on the same road, in case I needed help with anything. It was a real pleasure to take care of Maple. She is such a sweet and friendly dog. I loved our daily walks along River Adur, just a short distance from the house, and there are beautiful walks with stunning views around Lancing College. I also enjoyed relaxing on the decking in the lovely garden, with a book and Maple curled up next to me. I had a wonderful time and would return anytime.
Looking after Shadow, Skylar and Hazel for Marion was a complete delight and we would jump at the chance to sit for them again! The house is located in the beautiful village of Stoke Fleming, with a friendly pub just 200 metres down the road. Marion was there to greet me on arrival and gave me a comprehensive overview of the dogs routine and the house. Dartmouth town in just 10 minutes away by car. There is also a local bus service. Shadow and Skylar, both labradors, are gorgeous dogs and we enjoyed many long walks along the coastal path and across Dartmoor with them. They are both well trained and respond to a whistle. Special mention must go to 15 year old Hazel, the Jack Russell, who was quite happy to sit out of the longer walks but thoroughly enjoyed a cuddle in the evening whilst the others were sleeping. We could not have been more comfortable during our stay, the house is beautifully furnished and we had everything we could possibly need. The kitchen is well equipped and the house has clearly been taken care of. We were even able to enjoy some evenings in the hot tub which felt like a real treat! I absolutely loved my time staying with Jenna's kitties Cherry and Willow! I was so sad to leave them and her wonderful apartment at the end of the weekend. Jenna has such a lovely, curated and tastefully decorated space - a dreamy one-bedroom in Chicago. Her neighborhood felt safe to walk around in and I could easily get groceries, go to the beach, catch the train and even went to a last-minute Cubs game. The kitties were a little nervous on my first day (partially due to the Air/Water show noises happening as well), but quickly warmed up to me. We had fun playing with lots of toys, running on their exercise wheel, and cuddling on Jenna's super comfy couch. Communication with Jenna was easy and she was available to answer my questions. I totally hope I'm able to come back and see these two sweethearts again - they are totally one of a kind kitty friends and I loved my time with them. Thank you again Jenna for having me!!
