I can't say enough about what a great job/service Leana provides in taking care of our dog Max when we are away. It doesn't matter if we are gone for only a day or a couple of weeks she is always there to walk, feed, care, and stay overnight with Max. I would definitely classify her as a wonderful dog whisperer. Will continue to have her care for and watch over our Max. I give the highest of recommendations for taking care of your furry family member(s).

Leana was the perfect petsitter for Luca, our small miniature poodle. She responded to all inquiries promptly and even rearranged her plans in order to help us out! She let us know that she was going to be 10 minutes late because of heavy Friday evening traffic (which was not a problem at all), and she was completely responsible. Luca immediately recognized that she was a "dog person" and took to her at once. We re-engaged her for a few days later. She is absolutely trustworthy, and we recommend her highly. She is a dedicated and serious professional about her work!

Leana did a great job of taking care of my 11 month old Aussie/Doberman rescue named Stella last week. It was easy to book space with Leana and her price is very reasonable. I have already booked another two nights later this month. Highly recommend!

Leana did a wonderful job taking care of our family cat, Rocky. Rocky is used to being outdoors, and Leana knew just the way to keep him entertained and engaged inside while we were away, so we didn't have to worry. Her friendly and warm demeanor helped us feel confident that our Rocky would be in good hands.

Jen was great! We made arrangements with the understanding plans might slightly change on my part. She was receptive as she was sitting other dogs but I was respectful of her time. We were in communication b4 meeting up and leading towards picking our babies up from her location. My two dogs took to her right off the bat, even though my female dog is typically very leery of strangers.They behaved as if they knew her for a long time. When we picked them up they happily ran towards us, but kept looking back at her. We could tell they enjoyed their time with her. I am so happy I found Jen! Our dog is a rescue and can be very nervous and suffers from separation anxiety. Jen welcomed her with open arms and always goes above and beyond to accommodate her needs. Our dog absolutely loves her and I have zero worries when I leave her with Jen. Jen has also saved the day several times when we needed a last minute per sitter. She is kind and an animal lover. She also sends pics and updates which I love! I would recommend her to anyone with any type of dog.

I cannot say enough good things about Jen & her daughter, AZ. They were AMAZING!!! I was coming up to Santa Barbara for a wedding, and wanted to bring my fur babies along for the fun weekend. I found a pet friendly air bnb, but the rules were that I could not leave my dogs alone. Thank goodness for Jen! I was SO worried as I don't trust just anyone with my dogs. From the first time I called in and spoke to Jen, I could tell immediately that I really liked her. I was able to book her for both Friday & Saturday night for wedding festivities. Jen, who is fully insured, showed up early to meet "the girls". My two shy Italian greyhounds instantly fell in love with her (they usually take a while to warm up to strangers). This made me feel SO comfortable to leave them. She truly has a way with animals! Jen sent me photos throughout the night, which was great! I had the pleasure of meeting Jen's daughter the following night, who was equally as sweet and just as good with animals. The girls loved her too! Jen & AZ saved my weekend. They made my trip that much better!!! I cannot thank them enough! I highly recommend Jen's services. She is extremely professional, kind, funny, and an all around good person. My dogs loved her & AZ! Thank you Jen & AZ for making my life that much sweeter! I will def be recommending you to anyone and everyone I know that's planning a trip up to SB that needs a pet sitter.

Best dog sitter we have had for years. We travel a lot and at times need a sitter in the hotels the be with our schnauzer. She is getting old and needs TLC. We left the country for a weeklong destination wedding. After reading so many positive reviews, we decided to board our very high energy 1 year old German Shepherd at VDR. Although we missed him while we were gone, we were confident that he was in good hands. He was sure happy to see us when we returned but I could tell he was well taken care of. The staff is great. We got a full report. He was very happy. He got lots of playtime and lots of love. We’ll definitely be back. I highly recommend Ventura Dog Ranch.

Amazing staff who care for each of our dogs. They will notice any changes in behavior from day to day and share with us. Dogs always come back exhausted from all the great play. We take weekly and they love every moment!

LOVE LOVE LOVE I've been taking my dog Clover here for over 2.5 years for daycare, since she was about 8 months old. It was (and still is) great for socializing and she got exercise for over 6 hours. It has been an absolute life saver for us. Since we started, we've met a few of her siblings there from her moms second litter, that is so fun. She loves it and I love that. The staff is superb and the techs love the dogs. We've recently adopted a 10 year old dog who we've started to bring as well and of course she loves it too. I have recommended the dog ranch to at least 50 people since we started going and I know many of them still go as well. I

Ventura Dog Ranch always takes such good care of my dog! My dog is always so excited to go to daycare and is sad to leave. The staff is very attentive and I can tell they are observant of my dog’s personality. I also love to see pictures that they post on Instagram of the dogs playing. Can’t recommend enough!

Ventura Dog Ranch is a fantastic spot for doggy daycare and boarding! The staff is incredibly friendly, always greeting Disco by name and making him feel at home. Their spacious outdoor play yards are perfect for Disco to roam and socialize, and I love seeing regular updates on their Instagram stories. It's clear Disco is having a blast during his stays. ☀️ 🐶 The facilities are clean, well-maintained, and secure, giving me peace of mind when I'm away. They take the best care of my dogs! I have 2 high energy pups and taking them to the Ranch a couple days a week has upgraded my life and the dogs life’s a ton! The dogs can socialize and burn out their energy while i’m at work so we can relax and enjoy our night. Staff is wonderful!

I live in Santa Barbara, but bring my dog down to Ventura Dog Ranch as I think it is better than all the places up here. They are easy to work with, always happy to see Ivy when I drop her off. And share about all the friends she made. It is a great place to board or day care!

I was so happy to find Mary and PamperPet. I know when I go away my 4 cats will be well cared for as well as my home. She truly loves animals and will go out of her way to make sure they get the best care. She keeps in touch sending photos of the cats and leaves detailed notes so I know just what they were up to! She is so kind, professional and lovely to work with! One of the best pet sitters I have had.

Mary Scott (Pamper Pet) is hands down the best cat lover I ever hired to take care of my special beloved cat Chase for the last couple of years of his life. She was completely reliable, and she took care of him as if he were her very own. She even took care of him when he became terminally ill with kidney disease. Her billing system was prompt and accurate, and she left me notes daily on how he was doing and sent me texts and photos of him daily. He was always happier when I returned from a trip if he had been taken care of by Mary. She grew very fond of him, and she came over to help me on the morning when I had to take him to the vet for euthanasia. We both pampered him and soothed him; she took some treasured photos of me holding him, and we cried together. This prepared me for when my significant other came to take me to take me and Chase to the vet for the last time. I am deeply grateful for all that she did so well to help him, to love him, and to help me.

Finally, a pet care service that provides total peace of mind! We can't say enough about the quality of care Mary and her team at PamperPet provide. They are conscientious, caring and make us feel totally comfortable leaving our loved ones for either quick or extended trips. Love the text messages and photos we receive while we are away, and the very detailed diary of their visits when we return. Our two cats love them too! Highly recommend.

My dog (Riley!) loves the staff at Dioji in downtown Santa Barbara. She’s a people dog, and the crew at Dioji give her plenty of attention and affection, while encouraging her socialization with the other dogs. I’m so grateful for this wonderful resource for my pup.

They took great care of my dog on a trip and were accommodating to a vacation based schedule. The prices were pretty reasonable, although charging to feed my dog was a little strange (it’s pet daycare - do you not expect them to eat at all? Why charge a fee per meal if food is provided by the owner?) Overall though, I had a good experience and would recommend using them. I’d use them again in the future if I was in the area.

My one-year-old Aussie absolutely adores this place, and so do I. From the moment we walk in, the staff greets us with warmth and enthusiasm, making us feel like family. The facilities are top-notch, with spacious play areas that are clean and comfortable, and even a swimming pool (my little man’s favorite) for the pups to cool off in during hot days. I am never sure of whether my two dogs enjoy going there. They are not consistent with providing report cards or pictures. The past 4 times I have taken my dogs they have not provided a report card. Staff has also been extremely vague about how my dogs’ days went and there have been times when I stop by to check on them and have not seen them in the yard for 10+ minutes but I have never received reports of my dogs needing to be put in a crate for time out so I find this worrisome. Lastly, it does not seem like they provide water to the dogs. When my guys get home they seem to rush to the water and drink a gallon straight. It seems quite dangerous for dogs to be exerting themselves and playing outside without being provided water. Overall, I have very mixed feelings. Initially I felt a lot better about their communication/transparency and consistency. It seems to have gone down hill. Their play areas have also become more and more fenced off and smaller. Some employees seem annoyed by the dogs. I am definitely going to be testing out other daycares in the area.

Highly recommend this place for daycare and boarding! My husband I found ourselves in a pinch when our dog care plans for a long weekend fell through last minute. The staff was incredibly kind and empathetic of our predicament, and they were able to accommodate 3 days of boarding for our two dogs with essentially zero notice. The facility is also extremely clean and secure, and the overnight setup seems so fun for the pups -- it's like a giant slumber party!

Had a great experience boarding my pup here. I drove in from out of town and went through the first-time board process where they watch your dog for a period of time to ensure the dog assimilates well with the group. Dioji communicated really well leading up to drop off which I appreciated so I understood the check in process, vax requirements, etc. First time boarders were provided a complimentary bath. Seemed like my pup had a fun time and they have a nice space for play and lots of dog fun. Would definitely return here.

My dog cannot wait to get to Dioji in the morning! He has so much fun and comes back tired :) the staff are plentiful and friendly and the facilities are clean and fantastic. Highly recommend.

I love this place so much! The entire staff is friendly and they really care about all the doggos! I went on vacation for 5 days and it happened to be over my dog’s second birthday. They dressed him up in birthday attire and sent me pics which completely made my day. I never worry about Nash when I am on vacation because I know he is in great hands! I highly recommend our dog house for boarding as well as daycare. They are fantastic!

Oh gosh I cannot tell you how much this place has been amazing to my family and our dog! Our dog loves it here, she just loves it. She always makes new friends and is just so happy at the end of the day. The workers are so nice to us whenever we come to drop her off and pick her up, they treat us with a tone of respect. Im just so mad that the city of Ventura for not considering this small business and is going to knock this place down just for new homes that people in the area can’t even afford. We need a place for our dogs to go and have fun and be themselves. As a community in Ventura we should support our local businesses. Hopefully the petition that’s out to keep this place open works out! We love this place and hope this place stays open ❤️

The team is AMAZING and always treats my Bentley like one of their own. My dog loves going to doggie daycare to hang out with them and the other doggies. The facility is clean as well.

I know my dog is happy and safe here. He's always excited running in and exhausted after his day. He has bad separation anxiety and does fine overnight there

They treat our dogs like royalty. A promising sign that they treat our dogs well is that both dogs cannot wait to go inside when we arrive. They come back happy with tails wagging. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate our dog's needs(they observe and report how our dogs act alone and with other dogs for guidance on future stays), and they are friendly to humans too. Lastly, they spend a good amount of time playing with the dogs(either individually or in groups, depending on your dog's individual needs). The dogs come home ready for a nap every time.

My 1 year old dachshund, Buddy, went to daycare for 4 hours yesterday. He is very high anxiety and has pretty bad separation anxiety issues. They spent the time with him to start working through his issues so we can have a better socialized baby. He is going back next week! Facility is amazing.

We had Our Dog House recommended to us by our vet for boarding. The experience was fantastic. Our girls (two senior Italian Greyhounds) loves the time they spent. The staff are warm and friendly and very professional. They also offer daycare which provides your fur kids a chance to socialize in a safe, supervised environment.

My Frenchton, Gracie LOVES this place. It's clean and very comfortable for the dogs. The staff is outstanding. We've used the daycare and the overnight boarding both. All the dogs are screened prior to the first visit. They must have all their shots and be on flea prevention which I very much appreciate. They are separated into play groups according to size and energy level, act. Gracie thoroughly enjoys her visits.

Marnae is amazing! She literally came to the rescue when I needed a “real dog person “ to walk my little girl. Wag was so unreliable and unprofessional, but Marnae was the complete opposite and like a breath of fresh air. Not only does my dog come back satisfied from her walks, but Marnae was able to show me some training techniques that would help me bond with my dog on walks and have a more enjoyable experience walking her. I can truly say that Marnae truly cares about her clients and knows her stuff. From the 1st time I left my dog in her hands, I had no doubts and no worries.

As a dog professional myself, I’m particular about the people who will be caring for my dogs when I need help. This company is impressive! Not only will they walk my pups with the structure that I want for them but they will also do any extras that I need such as put additives in their food if needed, bring in the mail, open or close windows. The gals are well trained, respectful and take the time to build a good relationship with your pets. My dogs love these gals and are really happy to see them when they come over. THESE GUYS ARE WONDERFUL! I highly recommend them!

Pit Stop is an awesome company owned by a reliable and knowledgeable pet owner! Pit Stop has taken care of our two cats in our home via "drop ins" for two extended trips that we have done so far, and we trust them completely to care for properly for our cats. Additionally, they are vigilant and thorough when it comes to checking up on the pets and any dangers or messes in the home while we are out. Definitely recommend!

Marnae Franek and her staff have been taking care of my pets - cats and Greyhounds - for several years. They are professional and very informed on the care of each type of pet. Marnae is responsive and interested in understanding any care issues my pets may have. She and her staff deliver what they promise: they spend time with my pets, make sure they’re fed and have fresh water, and make sure all indoor litter boxes and the outdoor patio are cleaned during each visit. They also send photos of each pet during every visit. Marnae has been walking my Greyhounds and understands their unique needs. I have been recieving excellent services from Pit Stop for 6 yrs. for my elderly lab mix and now for my young boxer mix with seperation anxiety. Staff members visit my dog at my home weekly for walks and also for feeding and loving when I travel. I can see the happiness in the photos they send from each visit and my neighbors tell me how well the walks go. I would certainly recommed the services of this organization and staff.

Marnae and her team are just the best! I love being able to travel and not worry about my girl. She loves that she can stay home and be the center of attention with friends coming to visit her (and it is an added benefit of having someone in our home checking that the walls are still standing). As Harlee has gotten older, they have been able to adapt to her need and are always responsive on jumping in for last minute walks. Pets can be stressful, but I am so thankful to have Marnae and her team in our court to make it less stressful.

My big Baby sometimes has trouble with other dogs and also gets irritable in the heat. We travel and were at a loss what to do with her when we travel. Well Dioji of Oxnard solved that! Now Baby gets her own private suite, private playtime and has lots of fun playing with the staff! They also send a report card with photos every day!! We call it camp for her! Thank goodness we found this place!

Our Luz loves coming to Dioji in Oxnard for a full day of fun with all the great staff. She especially loves swimming in the bone shaped pool, hanging out and napping on all the different play structures. Their selection of treats is also great! We love taking advantage of the freebies offered with the purchase of daycare packages. Definitely recommend Dioji in Oxnard, all of the staff are friendly and attentive. We appreciate the daily updates on behavior and look forward to the pictures posted to her report card.

We first started bringing our pup Maverick to Dioji after moving to the area earlier this year, and just keep coming back. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. They’re all so kind, and being dog lovers themselves there’s never a doubt Maverick is getting the best care when he’s there for the day. It’s the highlight of my day when I receive email “report cards” at work with fun photos of him enjoying the pool and playing with his dog buddies. And he comes home exhausted! Great place for daycare and overnight boarding. I really appreciate that the staff will communicate with me when they see any potential problems(ex a rash they noticed). Everyone is always super friendly and we always feel safe leaving the girls for daycare and boarding. They have a pool which my lab of course loves and we get report cards at the end of the day with pictures of your pups which I always look forward to. I appreciate the transparency with having “windows” you can check on your pup while they are on the “playground”. Highly recommend. Thank you to all the staff, we appreciate you!

We love the Dioji and staff because they are so nice. They great Sparky by name and are always smiling. They love and care about each dog. I love the report cards in the pictures. They send when I leave Sparky there for boarding. We will never go anywhere else.

My Harry Poppins (goldendoodle) has been going to Dioji for about 6 months now both for day care and boarding (and a bath). I have had nothing but excellent service. The facility is so clean. Harry is not a fan of riding in the car, but when he realizes where he is going his tail wags and he jumps out of the car and heads for the front door. He is greeted by the staff by name and is aways willing to head back for fun! I have spied on him a couple of times while playing and the staff is so loving and caring. I know he is in great hands. When I pick him up they always tell me who he played with for the day and how much of his lunch he ate, or did not eat. They are professional, kind and loving to all dogs and their owners. I am a first time dog owner and have a few questions from time to time which they are happy to answer. I consider myself lucky to have found such a great place for pup!

Revised: My pup went there for boarding. On the last day of her stay she was vomiting a lot so they took her into the vet. The staff escorted her to two different vets. Tests were ran. She was fine, her stomach was just upset about the change in diet. Overall, most staff were friendly and cared for Pepper. I did speak to the owner personally about not feeling listened to by a staff about my dogs water possessiveness. They were accountable, caring, and passionate about pet care. Seems very proactive with her company. Nice to know it is family owned. My pup did come home with two punctures on her back inner thigh and chest unfortunately. The yards are supervised, but you cant see everything I understand. Yards are a bit on the smaller side but clean.

I’ve just started using camp canine with my puppy German shorthair pointer named arrow. The staff is INCREDIBLE. They are so sweet and kind I’ve never felt so comfortable leaving my dog somewhere. She always come back with a smile :) and it’s such a pleasure to know she’s well watched and taken care of. They are attentive and facilities are super clean. Recommended all around

I've been bringing my dog Pepperoni to Camp Canine for day camp, baths and boarding since adopting him from a shelter two years ago. He loves going there! He starts getting excited when we get close. Always eager to see his friends there. And I've had only positive experiences with the staff. A very well-managed business clearly run by dog-lovers!

While visiting Santa Barbara I found camp Canine. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions. The environment for dogs was so fun. The big dog section even has their own pool area. They will check to be sure your pet has their shots so bring your records. No appointment necessary.

This place is truly amazing!! Wish there were more places like this. Our pup had the best time at Camp. The staff are all amazing and all of them truly love dogs. First and last time overnight boarding for our family.from the rude reception at drop off to having our dog returned to us so dirty, his little face has massive tear stains from crying. Oh and he was starving!! And Who charges to bring their own dog’s food? Especially since our Frenchie is allergic to their food! $10 a day on top of an $85 per night charge!! Very disappointing all around. Our dog came home absolutely exhausted. Never again!!

Camp Canine is where our dog is happiest!

I wish there were more places like Camp Canine in the region! Every staff member I interacted with on the phone and in person was so kind, calm and patient; and even my extra nervous pup spent very little time acclimating between when we walked in to when I handed him off. When you walk in, it feels like you're dropping your pup off at a friend's home with a lovely backyard. I especially loved catching a glimpse of him enjoying himself outside when I came back back to get him 6 hours later. Above all, I loved that when I picked him up, he didn't have that smell that says, "I've been at daycare all day!" I can't wait to drop my little one off again soon!

Beckett absolutely loves Camp Canine... All of the staff is incredibly kind and patient and well well trained on how to care for animals their training skills are top notch and you won't find a better place anywhere in the area if you need to be away from your pet puppy. I will spare y'all the hundred word essay. I drive my dogs up from Long Beach anytime I go out of town for work. A+ without this place I don't know what I would do, I love my dogs so id have to quit my job. I've tried other closer options they are all horrid and if the only option was to use something like LA dog works or be homeless I'd be homeless. So thanks camp canine for keeping my emotional triggers from leading me to poverty.

Britta has been a complete joy to work with these last 8 months! Our pup used to go to a boarding facility in LA when we were out of town, but we recently moved to Santa Barbara and couldn't find a facility we trusted. Brittany is a true professional, has the knowledge and experience to deal with many temperaments of dogs, and is considerate about every detail that goes into watching your pet, such as brushing your pet after an outing, making sure they are clean, checking paws for foxtails, etc. She also happens to be one of those people that dogs love almost instantly – even dogs that aren’t very people oriented. We were in Montecito for the summer and when I was in need for a dog sitter I found Dogsbestfriend on the internet. When Brittany came over I was pleasantly surprised that she came prepared with a lot of questions which made me feel reassured that my dog Ago was in good hands. She's very professional and clearly loves pet. I loved the fact that on one of her walks she took a picture and sent it to me. Hiring Brittany and Dog's Best Friend has been great for my dog Soda. Although somewhat wary of strangers, Soda quickly warmed up to Brittany. Some days I am working from home when Brittany comes to pick up Soda and take her out for her doggie social and as soon as she hears Brittany step on to the front porch, Soda runs enthusiastically to the door, knowing that she is about to head out for a good time with her buddies. When Brittany drops her off a couple of hours later, I can tell that Soda has expended a bit of energy and she's immediately ready for a nap. One of my best experiences with Brittany came under very stressful circumstances for myself. I was about to take Soda out for a walk when I opened the front gate and watched helplessly as she sprinted into the street and got hit by a car. Within seconds, she was on her feet and sprinting away. I chased after her to no avail and in a panic, I was calling all of the friends I could think of to help me look for her and no one was picking up. Finally, I thought to call Brittany and she dropped what she was doing and immediately came to help me look for her. Brittany also had the wherewithal to call the Santa Barbara dispatch and local veterinary hospitals. It was a harrowing experience for me and having somebody there to help me and provide emotional support was invaluable. Fortunately, Soda made her way home after being gone all day and I'm happy to report that after a few days rest she was eagerly looking forward to getting back out with Brittany and her buddies for her doggie socials!

Truly a 5-star experience with this loving and highly professional pet care specialist. My pups loved her and she instantly bonded with them, so I knew I had made the right choice, for my vacation plans. Highly recommended for your own pets needs.
