Edith & Bob were great hosts, and Freckle and Rascal were fun to look after. Super loving and full of energy, the dogs just love your company. The house is large and the garden is lovely; and if you get a chance to sit during the summer you'll be spoiled with cherries right off the tree. The dogs' walk is right out the back gate and they're great off the lead so they get to walk while you amble along; they'll occasionally check to see if you're keeping up! Edith & Bob are super generous - Edith was there at the start and made sure we knew the lay of the house and local contacts if we needed anything. Bob was in and out at the end and great company for dinner - a really fun host. Cambridge is about 15 mins on the train, all in about 45 mins away including walking to the station and the bus at the other end. We had a good 3 hours to explore Cambridge on several trips in. We had a car so we also went to a few hot spots in the are - great pubs, tea gardens and beautiful country. Really enjoyed my stay, highly recommended. PS. Word of warning for those with allergies: the house dates back to 1492 and like many old cottages is impossible to keep dust free. My allergies were insane; if you have allergies bring your meds and pop away.
I spent 5 days with Lolita. She is a sweet dog that has a lot of energy and needs her daily walks, play time and cuddles, which you don't mind giving to such a cuty. She doesn't like being alone and prefers your company. Lola loves, and needs, play time. She is a smart dog and a simple hike is often not enough. Bring a toy and some treats along and all will be good. When Lola sees a rabbit her instincts kick in and off she goes, so you need to keep an eye on her and be strong to keep her on the leash. The appartment is 30 min walk from city centre and has several really nice hikes in the area. The appartment itself is nice, with a bedroom, kitchen, living room and a little balcony. Contact with Fernanda was flawless, daily and to the point. We spent one evening together before she left and this way she could show me around a bit.
I had an awesome stay with Roger who is a very happy, affectionate and relaxed cat. He loves a good belly rub and curling up in the fruit bowl. Harriet and Will were amazing hosts, made me feel so welcome and set me up for my stay with everything needed and more! The house is lovely and I was lucky enough to get a few days of sun which made my walks around the cute village of Lingfield even better. 1000% would pet sit again. Thanks guys!!!!
Pete and Jess are the nicest, most hospitable and friendly hosts you can imagine. Meeting them instantly felt so genuine and comfortable - kind of like connecting with old friends. And their cat Liquorice is just as lovely as they are. She is soooo cute and very affectionate and playful. She is very easy to take care of while making you want to spend so much time with her, because she is just such a delight to be around. She loves her toys and snacks and cuddles and if you’re lucky she’ll even sit on your lap and follow you around the house. Speaking of which Pete’s and Jess’ home is even more beautiful than the pictures suggest and they both go out of their way to make sure you feel very comfortable and at home. Honestly, I couldn’t recommend this sit more. Anyone who has the chance to meet Jess and Pete, spend time with their cute and fluffy cat Liquorice in their gorgeous home is truly lucky. Thank you both again so much for a wonderful experience that I will cherish for a long time. I’d love to come back soon :)
My friend and I had a lovely stay at James and Susie’s beautiful home. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Susie, James, and the gorgeous Kahlua and Jäger. It was a pleasure taking care of the dogs. Despite Jäger being nervous at first, she quickly warmed to us and both dogs were gentle, friendly, and relaxed. Susie had left informative instructions for Kahlua's daily medication and we felt well equipped for if she had become unwell but thankfully this wasn't needed. The house and garden were absolutely stunning, and we feel so lucky we got the opportunity to do this housesit. We particularly enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing in the garden enjoying the fantastic views. James and Susie left us a bottle of Prosecco, which was so thoughtful and greatly appreciated. We can not recommend this housesit enough. Thank you so much!
We enjoyed getting to know Michelle and her son, they were super helpful in getting us settled in for our stay and taking care of the puppies. They live in a great location in a quiet neighborhood. We only had Mimi and Coco during our stay. Coco is the super energetic puppy lab and Mimi is your classic loveable beagle who loves attention. It was fun getting to know each of their personalities and loved all the puppy snuggles we could get. The two of them will definitely keep you entertained.
