Winston seemed to be well cared for while we were away and he acted normal when we returned which was a good sign for him. There was good communication throughout our trip with regular updates on Winston and the house. They were upfront about damage they caused to our oven. They messaged to tell us that, "...while cooking on the stove, the heat around the oven melted the control panel with the buttons...I'm so sorry, this was a complete accident..." Upon returning home, we found that the control panel was melted enough to make the oven inoperable. We ordered replacement parts which cost us over $300. Note that damages under $1,000 are up to the homeowner and sitter to settle among themselves. We understand that accidents happen and, not knowing their financial situation, we requested only $200, thinking this was more than fair. While they were professional and courteous in our exchanges back and forth regarding repairs to the oven, being college students, the girls declined to reimburse us, and did not offer any compensation whatsoever.
Jenima was a wonderful sitter! She and I met before confirming her stay via FaceTime and I immediately knew I could trust her - she was so warm and asked me great questions. She was very clearly ensuring she knew exactly what Poppy needed during her stay, and went above and beyond when the time came. Poppy had a difficult time with me being away - had some accidents, stopped eating for a bit - and Jenima was so kind and understanding. She was in constant communication with me and showed Poppy so much grace, and even helped comfort me from afar as I was upset Poppy wasn't acting like her best self, though Poppy eventually settled into her routine with Jenima! Jenima left my apartment in perfect condition, and I have had numerous neighbors who met her during her stay tell me she was beyond lovely and showed Poppy so much care and love. I would absolutely recommend Jenima!!
This was a unique and fun sit! Hoppel Moppel and Maja are all adorable and Rosa and Mischa are very helpful and informative especially if you don't have experience taking care of reptiles or rabbits. Easy to reccomend this sit to anyone.
