Cat Sitters in Castelnau Le Lez

Gyl was a great cat and house sitter in every respect. With many years living in France, she knew how to organize well her logistics to fit my odd travel schedule and I felt comfortable that she’d be able to handle anything unusual that came up. Chernish warmed to her immediately and she sent daily photos while I was gone showing how well cared for Chernish was. She had no problem giving pills and mastered well the tricky feeder. In addition, Gyl was very good with my plants (better than I?) and the house was perfectly clean, linens/towels/dishes washed, etc when I arrived home. And there was even a wonderful quiche in the fridge for me! Gyl’s a very responsible and interesting person you would be lucky to have as a pet/house sitter!

Maggie and Clermont were wonderful. They arrived the day before took notes on everything in the house. They also brought two bottles of very nice wine. Apparently Handful was very satisfied with them since I don't think that he noticed we were gone. I would not hesitate to use them again.

Leisan and Vincent very truly amazing. They kept sending pictures and updates and I knew I could trust them completely. One of my cats is very wary of strangers but they’ve managed to gain his trust quickly. The apartment was left perfectly clean and tidy. I couldn’t recommend them enough !

Nicolas sat for us during a 3 week trip we made in Nov/Dec 2022. Communication with Nicolas wasn't easy. We were so concerned that he wasn't going to arrive that we made other last minute plans just in case. He did though contact late in the evening before we were due to leave to confirm his arrival. Our advert specifies that we are rural and a car is essential, Nicolas arrive by train and needed to be collected from the station. Having no car isn't ideal but our initial difficulties and concerns were eased as he is a pleasant , likeable chap and seemed in control of the situation. There was very little communication when we were away. Our flight home was delayed. We had previously agreed that we would return home at around 15hr and that we could drive him to the station to catch his train. We messaged that morning and kept messaging with updates. Once we knew our flight was leaving we told him when we would arrive home; but about 6 hours late. We knew his train would leave 2 hours before we arrived home so we said that if he needed to get the last train he should. When we arrived home the house was spotless, albeit very very cold as Nicolas doesn't like heat. Winnie seemed fine but a little anxious and she had pooped in the house which suggests that she had been locked in for a long time as this is totally not like her. Nicolas has still to read our message about our delayed flight so we have no idea when he left our house. To be fair, our cat was totally fine and happy. And our home was immaculate when we returned. We have no complaints about this BUT communication with your sitter is essential and we feel that Nicolas needs to work on these skills, if for no other reason than to ease the concerns of the pet owners. However, thank you Nicolas for taking good care of our cat and our home and we wish you happy travels in the future

Carole and Sylvain were brilliant Housesitters! They clearly loved all of our animals and they were so well cared for. This is what we wish to have with all of our Housesitters and Carole and Sylvain certainly delivered it in style. We very much enjoyed catching up with them when we returned home. Lunch and a delicious dinner were laid on for us which was really lovely. The morning before they left we went out together for a snorkel at the beach and had a good catch up with everything. We would welcome Carole and Sylvain back to our house at any time and hope that they will want to come and visit us again.

Where to begin? I guess with the joy of meeting such a beautiful young family of four. Due to a family emergency, I had to leave the country quickly, and Madeleine responded within a few hours of my posting the sit, and we confirmed quickly. Madeleine (Maddy); her husband, Sam; and their adorable, well-behaved and precocious (in the best possible!) children, Isaac and Hazel arrived a day early so I could show them around. They instantly connected with the dogs, and me, and I felt totally confident and at ease leaving the responsibilities of the dogs and house to them. While I was gone, they sent me regular updates, with photos, of their family outings on the property with the dogs, and I was completely at peace during a very difficult time, dealing with the loss of my son and my mother. What they didn’t send me were photos of all the mowing and brush cutting that Sam had been doing! Indeed, in addition to exceptional care of the dogs — and additional burdens like watering 90 young olive trees by hand, as well as other plants and garden, tending to hens — Sam tackled long overdue maintenance of the grounds, including tractor mowing and brush cutting with a powerful Stihl brush-cutter that I still don’t even dare to use! What a gift it was to return to such a tidy place. When I had to prolong my stay abroad and arranged to have another sitter come to fill in the gap, Maddy and Sam arranged for a perfect transition, explaining everything that needed to be done and how (not at all evident, and spread out all over the property), and it happened without a hitch. They left their guesthouse spotless, the grounds in better shape than it had been in months, and my two dogs happy and stress-free. I’m so grateful to all four of you for your kindness and generosity. I’m glad you live so close, so that you can come back and visit. You’re welcome anytime.

Nicky and Roy looked after our pets and home for a week. They were brilliant communicators beforehand and communicated during the sit with updates and pictures as we had requested. They even bought us goodies from their area of France! They opted to stay over at the end of the week as we arrived home late which meant there was more flexibility if we were delayed . They left the house very clean and tidy. They coped well with our excitable and reactive dog and took it in their stride over the week. Nicky and Roy are thoughtful and organised Housesitters and I would highly recommend.

Luc was lovely! We had a few miscommunications, but he was very kind and the cats loved him. He was very conscientious of my food restrictions and not cooking with gluten, and he left the kitchen spotless.

Floriane and Estelle were delightful. They left the house better than they found it. And they charmed the cat which is hard to do! We would be happy to have them come again and give them a five star review.

A second round with Sylvain and as happy as we were the first time! We found the house in perfect conditions with an happy cat and watered tomatoes. Sylvain was super flexible as we finally needed to be back home 2 days before what was planned.. Thanks again for that and everything else! Who knows, third time's a charm 🙂 .

This was our second time having these ladies stay with our sweet dogs and it was the absolute best decision. We were gone for three weeks visiting family and never worried for a second about our babies. They sent constant updates, spoiled the dogs, took care of the house and garden, and even made friends with the neighbors. They went above and beyond expectations and may just be our favorite sitters yet. Thanks again ladies you are welcome back anytime.

Fabian and Paul could not have been better! The house, and garden were perfect and the dog was well and happy. We kept in touch all the time which was great for me. A huge thank you for an assured piece of mind while I was away. xxx
