We’ve just returned to a clean and tidy home after a week’s holiday which was made all the more enjoyable knowing that we’d left everything in Derek and Pam’s capable hands. They arrived in good time for us to go through everything and we left feeling confident that we had made a very good decision in inviting them to stay. Communication was excellent; we received regular updates and photos which reassured us that all was well and that our four cats were very happy with their new friends! Dottie is diabetic and Derek and Pam administered her twice daily insulin injections with ease. They obviously love animals and soon got to know our cats’ (very different, and rather quirky) personalities. It was also great to hear that they were enjoying being here in South Devon and exploring the local area. Thank you Derek and Pam; we thoroughly recommend you as trustworthy sitters and wouldn’t hesitate to invite you again should you ever want to return to Holbeton!
Lucina and Guy are the absolute best! From the beginning, communication was clear and good and I felt at ease with this friendly couple. They stuck to the agreed time of arrival and the handover went smoothly. My 2 dogs were so relaxed and chilled when I arrived back home, that it was almost as if I had not left at all. Because Lucina and Guy work from home, my dogs constantly had company which is quite important as Felix suffers from separation anxiety. My dogs were lucky that they were both allowed to sleep on their bed at night and took full advantage of this privilege. In fact, even after I returned, Felix chose to sleep with them rather than with me. I was regularly updated via Whatsapp on what mail arrived and lots of photos of the dogs. Lucina was kind enough to rake the leaves of my 5!!! apple trees in the backyard, bin them and take the bins out, which is no easy feat. My dogs were walked on a regular basis and their daily routine was respected and honoured. Lucina and Guy were very forgiving when Felix did leave a couple of unwelcome gifts in the house. I know that they were showered with love and cuddles. Lucina and Guy are 2 very interesting and open people who enjoy travelling and learning about new cultures. They got on very well with my caretakers and even though they only speak German, they managed to communicate and understand one another. They also got on well with my friend/tenant who occupied the other apartment. On the night when I arrived, they were kind enough to invite us 2 for a delicious supper. I can recommend Lucina and Guy with a clear conscience and will welcome them back any time. Thank you so very much for everything.
