Amanda
We really enjoyed housesitting for Amanda and Mark - their dog Beetle is really lovely and Moyles farm has a great setup in a beautiful part of Cornwall! Had a great time exploring the local beaches and walks, and had fun feeding the chickens :)

Deborah
I had a very quiet stay at Debbie's house. When I arrived, they made a big delicious BBQ; that was a lot of fun! Very lively people and peaceful place. Most of the time the only thing I could hear was the sheep in the fields surrounding the house. There is a railway and a national road not very far, but they were no problem for me (and I tend to be easily bothered by this type of noise).

The dogs are your typical pugs. They're sweet, very playful, very gentle, but not the smartest creatures on Earth! 😅 Expect some surprises inside in the morning!

Apart from that, Castlerea is a quiet town, with a lot of elderly people. There are nice walks along the river and through some woods. And of course a lot of pubs 😊

Trixie
Oh Miss Patches! I thoroughly enjoyed my time taking care of Miss Patches. It was my first time taking care of a pig, and it was easier than I expected. She’s an old lady, and is probably not as spry as she once was, but she enjoys the finer things in life like sleeping in the sun on the porch, getting a brush massage, and taking lots of naps. She is also very talkative, and I learned knows how to open windows with her snout!

Trixie was such lovely host, and a fun interesting person, as you would expect from someone who has a pig. The detailed guide was filled with some hilarious descriptions of Miss Patches’ personality, and she was always available when I had questions. Her place was very cozy, and in an excellent location to experience New Orleans away from all the craziness, but close enough to get to it easily. As an added benefit, care of Miss Patches also made me very popular at social gatherings who wanted to know all about her! And she didn’t disappoint by saying hello with a loud grunt to whoever I was on the phone with. I hope to you again soon Trixie and Miss Patches!

Sandra
If you see that Sandra is looking for a sitter, apply right away. Sandra made us feel so welcome, I wish we could have spent more time together. Their house is beautiful, the setting is amazing. Everyone we met in the town was very friendly. I hope someday we can return.

The highlight, however, were the animals. Very well behaved and easy to take care of. Each has their own personality. For me it was love at first sight for all of them!

Margaret
Coming from so far away we were pleased Margaret selected us for the care of ‘Bouncy’ Bonnie, ‘Lady’Lucy and Buster (who just is without any descriptors). Arrangements were made months before and communications great before and during the stay. Margaret was generous in her time in getting us picked up from the bus station, stopping off for groceries, showing us around her lovely home and property and, generally, making sure we would be comfortable. As previous sitters have commented, there is a #6 bus that stops very close to the house and goes to one of the nicest beaches and also back to the bus station downtown Chiclana on the river - several times a day Monday - Saturday noon. From the bus station one can change buses and go anywhere including the train station in Cadiz. Further afield day trips, early morning, evening or weekend excursions would need a car or taxi. The three dogs are quite friendly, play well together, are good eaters and deserve all the attention you can give. We look forward to staying in touch with Margaret and are happy to recommend her home, the pets and this part of Andalusia.
