Helen
Thank you Helen for your generosity. It was our pleasure to look after your lovely fur babies and house. This is the first house sit we have done away from the UK and I think it all worked very well. We are on the other side of Australia now and miss them all! Samuel is thinking about getting a red setter! I hope they are all doing well.
Kind regards

Marie & Robert
Robert and Marie live in the charming little french village of Gaujac, where time stood still. They have three adorable cats: energetic Anda and Raj, who are communicative and very active (terrific tree climbers!) but also love their nap time. Shana, a Siberian, is a calm male who watches rather than meddles with their playful antics. He loves to sleep next to you on the sofa and accompany you on your morning stroll through the garden.

This stylishly decorated home sits on a hill with fabulous view of the surrounding countryside and vineyards. The area offers delightful walks to the neighbouring villages and roman ruins, the garden is great for lounging with a book and outdoor dining and on chilly evenings there is the fireplace in the cozy living room. Uzès, a beautiful medieval village with one of the best Provençale markets in France, St Quentin la Poterie, famous for its ceramics museum, and the roman aquaduct Pont du Gard are all within driving distance.

Gaujac itself is a tiny village, but it boasts a chateau that can be visited in the summer season, and a Michelin listed restaurant, La Maison, which serves delicious food at very reasonable prices in an ancient and elegant decor. Just outside the village, at a 10 to 15 minute walking distance, is an Intermarché, open every day all day (Sunday's in the morning only). The nearby village of Connaux has a post office and more restaurants.

To get there, travel by TGV to Nîmes, then hire a car or take bus B21 to Gaujac (la Cigaliere stop), or take a TGV to Avignon and take a bus or hire car from there. Airports in the region are Montpellier and Marseille. From the UK, you can also fly into Nîmes airport.

Last but not least, Robert and Marie are the most charming, interesting and welcoming hosts! They made me feel instantly welcome and cooked me a delicious meal, it felt like re-visiting old friends after a long interlude. They have a deep love of nature and all animals big and small and they adore and treasure their feline babies. It was most rewarding to care for Anda, Shana and Raj so they could travel without having to worry too much. They are also well organized and provided me with excellent practical information about the house, the garden and most importantly, the characters and needs of the cats, and they stayed in daily touch via WhatsApp.

Adorable cats, charming hosts and a stylish house and garden in a beautiful setting in the Gard, one of the most coveted areas in France - this is a highly recommended sit!
